Meh...that guy was a few sentences away from "Homer raped my childhood" rhetoric. I'm not saying that the Simpsons hasn't declined in the last few years (although I'd also argue that the last season did turn the trend around considerably) but this obsession and entitlement that some fans seem to feel is not only deplorable, but downright unhealthy. When you begin to rant about how somebody has "debased" a fictional character, in order to tell a different kind of joke than they were originally conceived to do, then it's really time to take a step back. I can't put into words how fed up I am with fans rambling on about how X person has ruined Y franchise, and that because they don't like it, said show/movie/book/whatever should simply cease (nevermindng the fact that there seem to be other fans who continue to enjoy it). I have. Repeatedly. I gave up when I realized that people I respect and don't wish to annoy weren't really following the arguments or noticing who "started it" or who was "right" or "wrong". . . they just wanted the arguing to stop. And I got tired of being accused of "ruining threads" or otherwise just being lumped in with the behavior I was attempting to decry. Throw in the fact that Togo is one of the "untouchables" around here. . . and it's pretty pointless to try to take him on. You'll just end up being aggravated, baited, and then told to shut the hell up even by people who dislike him as much as you do. I'm just impressed you finally came to realize you are not a "hero" and should just butt out (it's only taken like what? A whole year??). So I suppose this whole fight had one positive outcome afterall.

I actually found out about these TV movie sequels just a couple of years ago while I was flipping through channels. Personally, I thought the first Darkman was a great movie (after all, it was directed by Sam Raimi), but the sequels were just plain boring. And if you have a hard time trying to erase X-Men from your memory, try it with Steel. With Shaq? Oh Gawd............. Don't remind me. Character assination is one thing (Mags in X-Men 1) but trying to make a hero out of an athlete that can act in pure cheese is a whole new level of awful that needs to be wiped clean.

In all honesty I, and I think a wide majority of MW don't read Low Viz's comments. When he first started posting, people told him to cut it down and he didn't, so people just ignore him go on with their daily lives. Usually it is on the verge of verbal tripe anyway, so I don't bother reading it. Its really impossible to have a real discussion with him because he overloads his posts with information that is either far too basic, or has nothing to do with the issue, so why bother even entering into a discussion with him? So ka....... I always found A1's and Duke to be right on the money and I know A1 doesn't read his posts..... Never stopped him from getting the jist of something just from skimming it. Hell, do you think I read the whole thing? The first full paragraph was more than enough.
