The fighter jet isn't there to cast the shadow. The silouette of it on the ground is just the formation of water on the ground from when the jet was there. I'm not even getting into the gaping hole in the head of cockpit in said "shadow". I can pour water on the ground so it makes the shape of me but that doesn't make it my shadow.
-
Same went for Colossus and Moira McTaggert (tho she wans't really popular). Still none of them were "corner stone" characters. Killing of a character like Jean Grey (again) would just be redundant.
-
IA86, she wasn't a "corner stone" character. In fact I had commended Marvel when they offed her (even tho it was kinda lame the way it happened). Only thing is she was always sort of a "supporting" character even after Revanche died.

I've never understood how people could mistaken that as a "shadow". It looks like wet ground almost shaped completely like a fighter. Still a funny pic. Always wondered if the guy in the pic accidently fell over after the shot was taken.

Ah.... Another remake. Wonderful. bsu, didn't you know that Lucas is the real culprit for this?

There was a story?!

<Now remembers why she stopped reading Marvel comics altogether> It seems every few years some "super writer" comes along or comes back (like Claremont) and everyone is abuzz how great the comic stories will be. Only to eventually get dissappointed.... untill the next hot "God-Writer" of comics comes along all the while the books themselves are getting worse and worse. If it's not a retelling for a "new generation" of readers it's some insanely convoluted cross over where old characters are killed off for the sole purpose to throw in new ones for the "new generation" of readers. The fanboys and girls love it all at first before eventually bitching and tearing it to shreds and Marvel is forced to look for another "new" gimmick or "hot" writer which will continue the same rehashed trend over an dover again. Fierce cycle. I yearn for the day when a comic company does something REALLY gutsy by killing off one of it's cornerstone characters like Spider-Man, Wolverine, Batman, Wonderwoman, my beloved Rogue and all those Gen-13 brats FOR REAL without a clone involved or some back from the dead crap. Of course that will only happen in a fanstasy world of mine because so long as those characters keep selling books, comic companies will milk them for all they are worth. This stunt is no different since the Avengers series hasn't been a hot commodity in ages.

Damn, I can't believe the amount of discussion this film has. It's not worthy of all this attention. Unfortunately, it was #1 at the box office and may spawn another sequel.

Which chain has the WORST customer service?
Jemstone replied to Jolly Rogers's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
They ALL suck! The only one that hasn't really screwed me one way or another is Tower Records but they are insanely overpriced so I try to keep shopping there at a minimum. HMV belongs on that list and anything regarding VIZ.. Target, K-Mart, and Walmart are just lame and have very poor selections. -

OMG... I remember that. Damn, Exo I was hoping it was long lost to my memory! As far as the X-men cast I was also pushing for Rutger Hauer. Come to think about it an ideal cast was really close to a 1993 Wizard issue and Hauer was also the pick for Magneto (damn time sure goes by fast). Only they wanted Iman as Storm and Nicole Kidman as Jean Grey! In any case, Halle sucks a superhero so no need to see Catwoman. -

Trust me, you're saving yourself alot of pain with this plan. yep. ditch her. she was worthless in 1 and 2. concentrate on Wolvie, Scott, Jean, Bobby, Colossus, Rogue, and maybe (hopefully!!!) Gambit in X3. If she doesn't come back to X-men that's FREAKING GREAT!!!! Cast Angela Bassett as Storm instead and I shall forgive the franchise! -
I saw it and liked it. It's possible I enjoyed because I never expect much from MKS. Just how I enjoyed Signs. The "twist" was weak.

Caught a burglar red-handed in my house!
Jemstone replied to Majestic's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
That's terrible. Far worst than me dialing 911 on a cell and it failed. Only time I ever had to testify in court as a witness was when I saw a crazy ass woman run over a kid with her car at a gas station. Freaking hilarious with the lawyers. LOL -
So I didn't imagine this thread... Late last night I signed on and thought I was hallucinating but this is for real. I guess that's the end of James Bond as I'm getting flashbacks of Timothy Dalton. :cringe:

Haven't seen it (most likely won't) but my friend who saw it last night only had one word to describe it; "Dumb"! -

That was an awesome story, I love girls who kick ass. Did you have to testify at their criminal trial and did you find out how much time they have to do? Didn't have to go to court or a criminal trial. They were juvies so a judge was in charge of their case. Plus it turned out the tall one was already on probation at the time and all of that had violated it. So I never had to show up in court regarding the attempted theft. Only for the law suit the parents filed. The firearms laws varies from city to city and county. In Ma a person would be prosecuted up to the wazoo for shooting someone despite the intruder tresspassing on their property. Down here in Savannah GA the laws are rather lax. If somoone trespasses on your turf and you kill them, you're likely to only get a pat on the back from police for saving them the trouble. -
A7, I can't get into this series. I watched the first 12 epsiodes over and still don't think much of it. That's with getting all the jokes. Chiyo's also too cute for my taste. I wanna kill her. I think I'm just not into shojou HS manga stuff anymore. Especially, when all the characters remind me of people I went to HS with. I love Kamineko tho. EDIT: Glad I missed the pointless flaming in this thread.

That's cool. I didn't know he designed AIBOs. Gaijin, I would have gone with Misato because Katsuragi Misato is the best Mistao.

Majestic, that was a very foolish thing you did but thnakfully nothing happened to you nor your wife!!! What everyone already told you is 100% correct. In fact I'll share with you my first and hopefully only "official brawl with a thieves that had some legal consequences": This was years back when I was still in college back in Boston (Spring 99). I had a class that ended at 10 pm and I had to take the bus home for awhile during that time. One time I was on the bus and there were a couple of teens on the bus who were obviously looking for trouble and I caught their attention (like I didn't see that one coming). One of them was about 6'4, at least 190 lbs came over but I ignored them. He then expressed interest in my cell phone and silver necklace. For the next 5 minutes this fool continued to try to smooth talk me while trying to make his way to my necklace. I blatantly dialed 911 on the cell but it didn't go thru and then asked the driver to stop the bus cuz I knew something bad was gonna happen. The driver didn't stop so I got up to move (I was sitting by the rear of the bus) and that's when the other guy who was standing in front of the bus' second exit door towards the middle of the bus made his move and lunged for my necklace. Only I turned around to grab it back and kicked him. His tall friend ran up to do something but the driver pulled over, opened the door and the 2 thugs and I fell out of the bus landing ont he tall one. The moment I got up I started punching and kicking the crap out of the one that grabbed the necklace (took various martial arts growing up). I beat him to the point I pinned him to a street light pole. Sometime during that the taller one got up and once again grabbed me by the back and pulled me away from his now bleeding friend. Except I stomped on his right foot, elbowed him in the guy and threw him over my shoulder (basic self defense move) ripping the hood off my jacket which he still had in his hand. At that point they had had enough both got up and started running and I bolted after them for 2 block yelling "Come back here! You're not getting away from me, you bastards!!" since the ass still had my necklace. Turned out I didn't have to chase them far because the cops had arrived. Coincedently enough, the bus had pulled over at a corner in front of a police station and other passengers on the bus (who did nothing before) had gone in and gotten the cops. They got arrested and later at the police station when I was filling the report they told me the one that took the necklace had a knife and the tall one had a gun. I was just extremely lucky there were was some serious gender bias and underestimating that was going. No doubt the 2 thugs didn't expect me to fight back the way I did and probably would have shot or stabbed me. On the flip side, upon seeing my 5'5 and 120 lb frame, the cops were ready to take my side no matter what happened and not even gotten . "Don't you worry, Miss, we'll cruscify those guys" said one cop to me. Eventually, my necklace was returned (they found it in his pocket) and I was paid $200 restitution for my torn jacket hood to replace the whole jacket, the parents of the one I thrashed filed a suit on the grounds that I used unnecessary force!! It was later thrown out by a judge (that also isntantly sided with me) on the grounds I acted in self defense (totally ignoring the part about me chasing them down the street) but it was a big legal headache for me. Afterall, I was very lucky there there was some serious gender bias and underestimating going around. Had I been a man I doubt things would have turned out the same. I could have been killed and the authorithies might not have been so lax with the law. Looking back at it one could say it was cool and awesome when my stunt was just dangerous and stupid. What's the point of dying over material objects? Majestic, you're really lucky it was a kid and not some warped out druggie with a gun. -

You sure that's not a dude? You took the words out of my mouth. Seems like somebody thought they were playing Chyna and not Wonder Woman. -
you know if there is going to be another movie, any unresolved issues left hanging in the TV series maybe tied up that way. Or maybe it will be OAV style and forget what has happened. .. ........ Why must you crush my hopes and dreams?
-
I know, man. That's why it pissed me off so much. It was still one of the lamest things I ever seen and Koaru's "devoted" decision was just outright stupid. Where's our Revenge story arch already?!
