Nevr cared about Doom and thought the original game's story was the perfect formula Hollyweed cared about these days as far as big action blockbusters go. I just don't see how even they can screw it up. To even the playing field they coulda just thrown some female Marines in there ala Vasquez. I will simply mourn for Karl Urban as far as this film goes now. Unbelievable how such a simply but certain $$$ formula can be overlooked.....

So long as there are no edits to the actual episodes, I'd say you should keep your order. Zeta Gundam holds its place as one of the anime greats for more than its theme music. Damn straight. Still.... I guess I won't be throwing out my old fansubs. I usually clean out my boots and fansubs after I get a region 1 DVD (or Reguion 2 in special cases) but more and more there are series where it's a good thing to keep the bootleg and/or fansub because it is intact as a whole. Done this for Samurai Troopers/Ronin Warriors for special music videos, Lodoss for the OVA ending with the golden dragon, Rurouni Kenshin OVA for the text closing, Macross/Robotech Perfect Collection 1 for the alternate opening and closing not included on the DVD release..... I could go on and on but it's little things like that all DVD releases should have that are keeping my boots and fansubs around. Very frustrating considering the amount of money put into these DVD releases.

It's just so unbelievably stupid. I'm not gonna go to a store or online and buy a series I have never seen and have no idea what's it about. Not all anime is previewed in mags like Newtype promo discs or available in sample demos discs. I wouldn't eb surprised if tehre wa sa huge drop in anime sales if this continues to be a trend. It's just so STUPID!

Effect, I always saw fansubs as ways of PROMOTING unlicensed anime. I can tell you all the anime I downlaoded and loved I have bought the region 1 set. I've seen all of Gundam Zeta yet currently going crazy for my domestic set to arrive. Just like I can't wait for a domestic set of FMA, Rahxephon OVA and Samploo (among amny more). This really sucks. Thankfully, I have all of Kimi Ga saved on ym HD but this is a big blow.

Whiel I agree with you for the most part I'm not really digging Protoculture Addicts either. Even their old releases were very bias and too much was rooted for their love for Robotech (not bad as fans but very bad for an anime magazine claiming to be objective). I still think they are too "involved" with some anime distributers to really be objective.

If that's the case then that'se even worse. Series like Gunparade March with a unique tin should be up there. And just which Eva DVD release are they talking about here? Surely not the one with the messed up remastering.

Well, I never got any of the other DVDs (except Animatrix) cuz I was waiting for this set. I told you I only buy stuff on DVD once and that's it.

Thank you as I had similar thoughts with the exception of the penis part (gotta be bad for the lady at home, no?) One only need to see what's placed at #7 to know what really makes the list pure crap (and why everyone thinks EVA is so overrated). Man, I've talked to you about that before. I still say you are very lucky. Most of Sony's consoles do die no matter how well you took care of them 18-24 months in their life. Some die alot sooner. I had 2 PS2s taht I took care of religiously. Just like you I have almost every console since my Atari 2600 and all work like brand new (even have cleaning days spread out during the year dediacted solely for consoles). That didn't stop my PS2s from dying. On the other hand Sony does sometime make systems that last like my first gen PSX which was modded and dropped twice by friends (my punishment for taking it out of my house). Yet, it's still working just fine. I'm definately getting a PSP when it comes out tho cuz Sony would have to be really stupid to screw up a handheld.

Doh, no update on my DDDVD order yet. That makes two of us...... The street date of Zeta is 12/14. There is still time. In fact, the street date for SEED vol. 4 and 5 is also 12/14, so anytime between now and next monday, you should get your shipping notice. Yeah, I just talked to them on thephone. It shipped out this morning with some other stuff I ordered. Altho my order summary still has it listed as "preorder" with the other stuff as "backorder". Neither did I get an email update.......

There was nothing supernatural about the YF-21 functionality. The mechanics are more or less laid out for it and so it's hadrly anything mysterious and miraculous. As I've pointed out before, Mac + isn't really in the pattern of the Macross stories, because it never was supposed to be one according to Kawamori. It was originally supposed to be part of an alternate universe under the title of advanced valkyrie... but that got shelved and he reused the script to create Macross plus later. Compared to Zero, Seven, and SDF, it is the odd one out. That I know and agree with you wholeheartedly. I'm surprised you're taking Keith seriously if that's the case.

I'm interested to know why you (and others) keep asking these rhetorical questions with answers already known or just don't exist (considering M+ had very few related elements as far other alien species goes). Perhaps I should be looking for a giant prehistoric bird in M0 (altho there's no reason or relation to it's exitence between M+ and M0).

I still don't get what all the fuss is about. l completed all of Macross Zero last night and I don't get what people are bitching about. I think it's clear that there was influence by some unknown alien force (APHOS). A force that was clearly the remnants of the Protoculture (which we all learned and knew that existed before hand in previous Macross series). Nobody at that point in the Macross timeline even knew about the Protoculture. SO once again, what's all the fuss about? EDIT: Also try to keep in mind that even the characters of this series were not familar with the Protoculture at all and alot of what was going on with Sara seemed mysterious or just plain 'Magical" from their perspective.
