You know what, you are absolutely correct. I was messing about with my Alter Arbalest which is 14.5 cm tall, at the time of writing. So to do my calculations again: VF-25: 1590 cm RD VF-25: 12.5 cm Makes it 1/127.2 scale. König Monster is 29.78 m in bomber mode and that would make the toy around ~23.4 cm long. That size correlates more to the images, so I guess the <Side VF> stuff is actually in scale to each other. Sorry for the confusion.
-
Amazing, 1/100 scale and Bandai is able to pull off better legs. No carve outs on the upper legs, and the right width and length. Heck it has bloody knee guards, even though VF-19 shouldn't have any I think. I say bring on the VF-19F and S!!! And for god sakes no more YF-19. I am sick of seeing that Valkyrie as a toy/model stand in for the actual VF-19s.
-
Well lets see: VF-25: 15.59 m (=1559 cm) tall in Battroid mode RD VF-25: 14.5 cm tall that equates to an odd scale of ~107.5 If we are going by the fact that <Side VF> line is in scale to each other, then the VB-6 should be something around 27 cm in Bomber mode. But the images of the König don't really convince me, that we have a corresponding scale/size/length to VF-25s. Something tells me that Yamato has the 1/100 scale locked for the VB-6, meaning Bandai can't do the subject in their VF 1/100 line.

Sadly I have to report I've had an outage today (July 12) for almost 2 1/2 hours. It always seems to occur between 18:00h - 20:30h Central European Time.

It's his interpretation (could have been inspired by 08th MS Team OVA) and to my knowledge it has never been seen in animated form. Although the KA design has basically served as template for most if not all of the modern gundam video games.

Your Gundam RX-78-2 is a ver. KA. KA stands for Hajime Katoki a mecha designer. A KA labeled Master Grade means that Katoki had a finger in the entire production. Ranging anywhere from general design, parts design, CAD, manual, box etc.. There is a bit of debate about Katoki and his designs or to be more specifically his contemporary re-workings. Case in point, your KA-Gundam vs. Gundam 2.0. A lot of younger fans have problems with 2.0's appearance, not liking the sponge feet and the somewhat plain "gummy-esque" look. Older fans think the KA is too industrial with too many little bits and pieces added, and therefore sort of loosing the soul and spirit of the original design. Some really die-hards even think that 2.0 version hasn't gone far enough with the classic/retro look. Hope this clears up a couple things for you.

Going by the pilot and the yellow arrows on the head this is technically a DYRL variant. If I had to guess, I'm suspecting that Yamato might milk us a little later for a proper TV version. Whether that comes with Roy, Hikaru or both pilots is anyone's guess and a not so easy decision for Yamato.

Non-Scale. That's basically the trade-off with the Robot Tamashii line. Expect VF-25/Q-Rea and probably any future Macross mecha in this line to be no taller than 12-13 cm.
-
Ngee Khiong says this variant is officially called "VF-1S Roy Focker's Unit Low Visibility Type". I believe this is the Amazon Japan listing -> link I can't read Japanese so if someone wants to give us a direct translation, please do. Considering everything is pointing to Roy Focker, I would recommend the mods do their magic and somehow attache the last couple of pages to the appropriate Yamato 1/60 v.2 Roy Focker thread. Thank you.

And Gamu-Toys graces us with more pics: http://gamu-toys.info/goukin/mecha/almecha01/01.html All I can say is - WOW. This thing has articulation on par with Bandai Master Grades. Not to mention the attention to detail.
-
That has basically been my problem since the YF-21. Those legs and feet just don't cut it for the price being asked. Sure fighter mode looks great, but when I buy a valkyrie toy, then I expect all modes to receives the same amount of dedication. Otherwise I could just buy the Hasegawa model and call it day.

Has the split on the forward fuselage been removed for the VF-22 or did the guy just forget to transform it properly?
-
Those shots with arms dangling around remind me of Outlaw Star....
-
The 1/60 Kakizaki thread was discussing the lame VF-1R variant that HG established. So it got me thinking about those other VF-1[A,J,S]R's from the Macross 2036 game. Would anybody be interested if Yamato wanted to do this? I think I would, I love those head variants and boosters without the rest of fast pack kibble. It seems quite feasible to do, with the elongated fuselage probably being the most tricky part. Post your thoughts.

So has the grey VF-1S officially been designated by Yamato as a TV Roy Focker? Looks good, but I kind of wanted a white version with black arrows on its head and little Hikaru piloting it.

What Current Anime Series Are You Watching? v2.0

I watched Blue Gender recently and found it to be a solid to good anime. Am I the only one that feels disturbed at the way sexual intimacy is practiced from those that fled to space? -
Woohoo, Overdrive has shipped my Arbalest. Can't wait to get it in my hands. You're being to critical about the size.. Yes it's small, but I think the sculpt, detail, gimmicks and accessories more than make up for it. And 1/60 scale is perfect if you like and collect Yamato Valkyries. Here are some more pics to kill mine and everybody else's wait. http://hobisora.xsrv.jp/other/2009/alter_arbalest/index.html

And this coming from someone who enjoyed Star Trek 2009 and wants that franchise to be dumb-ed down even more. Not sure of the exact wording, but I think one of your posts went something like this: "seek out life and explore new worlds... and then blast the crap out of them..."
-
That's not an animation error, more like a screen grab being falsely mirrored.
-
Yeah I started downloading MSubs ones too. But did ACR really drop the project? I was under the impression that ACR and MSubs where sort of collaborating. By the way, Shin-Getter seems to be doing steady progress with L-Gaim. Another 80's real robot anime I've been wanting to watch.

I guess your one of those die-hards that prefers the original bulkier interpretation of the Hi-Nu. Quite frankly I like both the original and the MG styling. If Bandai ever makes the original as a MG (or PG) I'll buy that too. And in Bandai's defence, the comparison with the standard Nu Gundam is a bit unfair. A lot of time has passed between the inception of the MG and the HGUC version, with the latter benefitting from better perception and/or technology for the object at hand.

It's definitely bad. - Neither fighter, gerwalk, or battroid mode excel in their appearance - no lock for the chest area - the swinging shoulders don't lock into the chest - groin/intake area in battroid is a mess, it looks horrible and again no locks - joints are loose - fighter mode is held by tension, rather than - yes you guessed it - locks - seams and gaps everywhere - and a transformation that will cause breakage, sooner rather than later IMO Yamato's M+ line only delivers on the VF-11. The YF-19 is the sum of its faulty parts and the YF-21 is only good if you like fighter mode and cant build model kits. Gerwalk and battroid are an insult to the eyes. I'm crossing my fingers, that hopefully Bandai's 1/100 VF-19 and any subsequent releases of those that Yamato did turn out to be good. Because then I would gladly replace my YF-19 and VF-0S with those, even if they are smaller and parts-formers.
-
Not true. I live in Germany and requested the parts I needed. Bandai (a lady by the name of Hana) replied and wanted the shipping address. One month later I got the parts I wanted, completely free of charge. I must say, fantastic customer service on Bandai Hobby's behalf.

BREAK OUT! Energy and passion.... 3, 2, 1 GO! Ooooooo Oh Oh Oooooooooo SUPER ROBOT WARS!!!! Damn you Jam-Project for giving us such catchy and energetic music. Gui, don't forget to watch the 3-part OVA if you haven't done so yet. Re-watched Genesis Climber Mospeada again. This show isn't holding up as well as I thought. Blue Gender is next on my list.
