Na, the head isn't doing it for me either. I just do not remember the -17D being that ugly in M7.

The same as the VF-19S. Unless one head laser, no chin and white paint make such a difference...

So Bandai doing renewals and actually having vastly improved good quality toys is what, a half-hearted attempt and not taking Macross seriously?
-
As the topic says, any chance of re-issues in celebration of 30th? I am really on a Macross trip at the moment and itching to get a fresh VF-0S and Ivanov. And to keep this thread interesting: Are MW members ready for/awaiting renewal versions? I can't speak for the SVF-51 but I don't really think VF-0 needs one. I had the very first issue of the VF-0S and it was a mess but I think tweaks/fixes are good enough to keep on with it.

Could somebody please post pics of the different head variants? I thought the letter designation was just nomenclature, but didn't really have that much impact on design differences!?

Oh well look like any funds I would have found for MP Ultra Magnus will be going elsewhere this year. Pity.- 16946 replies

Just got lucky and was able to score a YF-29 at anime-export.

8 June for DVD/Blu-Ray, PSN I don't know. Anyway I was going to pre-order at Amazon UK, but at 47£ I said no way. Then I thought I would try Amazon US, and it's the same... 95$. WTF is going on with the prices here!?

Looks like Yamato went the extra mile, the head cap is actually more angular. Thought they would just reuse the existing one from the -19S.

Not sure if the poster pictures are old, but the head still looks very ugly. Frankenstein or bald Vader... though decisions...

Definitley not liking the colour scheme! It has to be the Hikaru Skull Leader variant otherwise I won't be splashing 200+ Euros for this!

Yep, the Unicorn soundtrack is really great and best of all a OST 3 is coming soon. Although this will not happen I really would love to see the Unicorn go up against the Nu Gundam. Now that would be awesome fan service...

But in a real strict sense there really isn't any... look closer So is this a custom build? Looks awesome, love the head sculpt, not so much the wing kibble. Bandai/Yamato we need this now!!!!

It's a slow and tedious process to come up with a one-dimensional evil bad-guy character. Oh, and who else is pumped to finally see some lens flares in 3D!!!- 1020 replies

Is the VF-1S specifically labeled as Roy or Hikaru? I ask because these VF-1/side cover combos on offer here are all the ones Hikaru flew in SDF. Anyway glad Yamato is finally doing this, although they should have done this the first time around. Now all I need is a re-release of Hikaru DYRL VF-1S with the side covers and the revised crotch lock...

I think it's time for V2 1/60 YF-21 and V2 1/60 VF-22S
lechuck replied to Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0's topic in Toys
Never understood why the -21/-22 receive overall positive praise, Battroid and GERWALK look pretty much like garbage on the current version. If Yamato can put in the same kind of attention and love into those two modes like with the fighter, then I would welcome a Ver. 2. -
VF-0 or VF-1 (includes variants) which do you like better?
lechuck replied to leading edge's topic in Movies and TV Series
VF-1 hands down. The overall simplistic design and S-type head with visor, faceplate and the four lasers make it an all-time favourite for me. Now if the VF-1 had to go up against the VFX-1 "Schneeblume"... -

I'm pi**ed, come home from work and see that pre-orders have all been closed from my choice of online stores. grrr... -
Eventhough probably nobody cares anymore, here are my impressions of the VF-11B The good: - Appearance and proportions, this thing looks great in all three modes. Very balanced, doesn't seem like one mode preferred over the other. - Transformation is so easy and simple, especially the arms. None of that swinging and fiddling to align like on the VF-1 v.2 - Pilot figure is crisp The annoying: - Split heat shield/removable cockpit, I don't care how anime accurate this is, the gimmick is cumbersome to do and the implementation is just so poor. - Gunpod, can't sit properly in the hand, and the cover seems a bit loose for my tastes. Also can't be attached on the side of the arm. - Shield --> loose in battroid mode The poor: - intakes keep hitting those leading edges in battroid mode --> tips get damaged and are not as pointy anymore! The VF-0 has a similar issue where the intakes keep hitting those metal tabs. I wish they would pay more attention to freedom of movement on these things... grrr! - Fast packs, absolutely nothing going for it, no inner details, no movable nozzles - just plain meh!

One shall fall, one shall rise.... <queue movie music> Just having some fun. 2011 was truly a Transformers Year for me. Holding that MP-10 Convoy for the first time in my hand... it was like finally completing something, finding closure... LOL As a kid I never had G1 Prime and ended up with that horrible, horrible Powermaster version, which just never sat right with me. With Striker Prime (my first leader class) I kind of feel disappointed. The proportions, colours and details are great, but the missing waist joint makes it feel static and the lack of space so that all the kibble on it doesn't constantly get jammed in each other seem to curb the enthusiasm. It just ends up having that mass produced toy vibe eventhough its appearance tells you otherwise or maybe I am just spoilt by the Masterpiece line... Maybe one day they might do a proper Movie MP of Prime, but for now I hope the next MP after Starscream is Ultra Magnus.

Well here is my Christmas loot. HLJ stuff came Christmas Eve, exactly one week from the day I ordered with EMS shipping. Sadly the bloody VF-1S kit and the R3 L-Gaim Mk. II just didn't want to go on sale... grrrr, so I caved. And for some reason anything coming from HLJ always seems to incur the highest custom taxes. Anybody else living in Europe having this problem? The VF-25F came from Angolz.com, my first ever order with them. Had no problems, curios why they are blacklisted over here? Passwords... firewalls... that is just so yesterday...

Bandai DX Chogokin YF-29 Durandal Valkyrie
lechuck replied to UN Spacy's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Finally a head design that deserves "S" designation. I thought Kawamori had lost it... The -25 version looked more like the front of a bullet train than anything else.
