I too have problem with this. Really prefer the later version or the Arcadia version. The original v2 is a pain to lock in and unlock. I think I have damaged one Valk while struggling with this. I dread transforming my older V2 1/60. Quite a few of these also develop a small play on the attachment of the T bar to the nose cone. The vertical bar can't stay "locked". It cause the valk to lean forward. Been trying to find a solution to fix this, but there is nothing that "hold" the vertical bar in place. So I don't have any contact point to "strengthen". If anyone know how to fix this, I would love to know. The DX, is much more pleasant to handle.

The second one is different from the first one, and it is out door.

I have use surface shipping with FJ multiple times. After a long wait (normally just over 2 months), the package arrive in good condition. No problem so far. EDIT: forget to mention, sometime when the item is small, you can safe a few bucks by going with non-trackable surface. Did that once, was worried, but it still arrive ok.

The Covid situation is worrying for many reasons, including shipping of our toys from Japan. Still, the wait till release day and see strategy is still better. For example PO at NY with a selected shipping method does not work when item is released. The buyer end up have to go through a lot of trouble and pay extra to get their item shipped. If you are shopping after release, at least you select a seller/shop that provide a shipping method/cost that you think you can accept at the point of commitment.

I share you feeling after looking at online review and photos. If the price is not so high, this might not be such a big deal. But I am not that forgiving of the "mass production issue" if I have to pay near to half a grand.

Nice. I have too many roys, but notthing compare to yours. Did you commission someone to build your wave 1/100 ? -
Flying mule now have it listed. With the 20% pre-order discount, and shipping at $5, it is a nice deal.

Nice. They do have stock at hand. Thanks for letting us know.

Please let us know. I wonder, for item in stock (assuming that is indeed that case, you never really know with NY) and no "switching shipping" shenanigan, how long does NY ship things out.

Practice your weathering skill on it and call it a old used VF-1J.

I wonder if this special will become available in retailer in US soon. This is the second in their DreamCat series. The first one - a JSDF F-14 is available in BBTS.

I hope they will not cancel at the end. But chances to get delivery is very low. I wish you luck. My name is on the waiting list too.

Do also check out the slightly cheaper flightpose like stand from Calibre wings: https://www.flyingmule.com/products/CL-CA72DB10 The base is black instead of clear, it also include longer and shorter stick in one package to allow banking post.

Rewatching this amazing review: @jenius relate the DX to the yamato 1/48 and cover a lot of fun details. Anyone that have not watch that please do. Warning: watching his video is what cause me to spend so much money on these toys.

I have no first hand experience, but have read here that store credit at NY cannot be use on shipping too. Other member who know for sure, can confirm. So take store credit as refund is a no no at NY for me. But so far, I have no problem with NY. They always deliver and response to my ticket. They have also refund when the situation is reasonable. They also have good prices for some of the item I want. So I am going continue to use NY cautiously in future.

Thanks for sharing. I like their attitude of taking no deposit. I am not sure if they will honor their price when the street price is much higher than that when they get some stock to sell. Sounds risky, but like you said they demand on deposit, so no harm trying.

I think you must have selected (by accident) scale to fit when you print.

I seems to remember that at the shipping instruction page at FJ, when you are ask to choose the shipping method, the "invalid" options are greyed out. And I have the impression that for each greyed out option, there is a note about what limitation (size, weight etc) the is cause the option be to greyed out. That might give you more info about why surface (should cost about 4000 yen) is not available.

Good luck with getting one at around $200. It will not be easy. Hope you will find one on release day. Just note that if you hold out too long on that day, you might miss the boat and will be face with over $275 for one in a few days. Roy is popular, so it all depends on how much extra stock the shop get on release day.

True. From my experience, I have found that they do choose the shipping box and organize the items in them to reduce shipping cost. These packaging worker is doing this all day long and they do seems to have a good sense on how to do it "right". The only thing that I have not seen them do is to "customize" a shipping box entirely (ie cut down x y ans z to fix). They work with the limited box sizes they have (with adjustable height). I can totally understand that, I have tried to customize shipping box for my buyer when I am selling. It take a lot of effort. They also need to be responsible on making sure the packaging is secure enough to provide protection during shipping.
