@Shizuka the Cat has found a good substitute for this:
-
I have a set incoming. Not sure if I will need all four. But adding shipping to get it to you will make it very similar in price to for you to just get the two piece set. Maybe having one extra stand will encourage you to buy an additional 1/60 valk? Ah... is that what your are worry about?

Not sure where is the right place to ask this, so hopefully it is not too upsetting for me to hijack this thread. I am confused by the box art in this item, don't remember seeing it anywhere and nothing on Anymoon.com. Anyone know? Is this a knock off? https://www.ebay.com/itm/1-60-Perfect-Transform-Vf-1A-Ichijo-Koukai-Super-Space-Time-Fortress-Macross-/372650604223?_trksid=p2385738.m4383.l4275.c10

I did the same. Mandarake offers very good service.

Your most recent Macross or toy purchase! General thread.

Congrats. When unexpected finds like this happen, it really makes this hobby fun. Keep hunting. -
Mentioned the PO issue with my toy hobby over lunch with some friend today and was told that one "Supreme Box Logo Pullover Hoodie" with a retail price of $145 when up to $500 - $1800 from resellers. Not to say that what we have in the DX line is acceptable, but there are much worst mark up than what we experienced.

Not sure if I will ever build that. Need to find a good place to display it first. The dream is to add a lot of surface details and weather it.

I am in the process of checking out the viability of producing this in small quantity. If all works well, changing the zipper to Velco is possible.

I was looking for this stand a while back. Was thinking of cutting one out from an acrylic sheet and heat bend it. So thank you so much for finding this @Shizuka the Cat If it is an exact copy of the Arcadia one, I can check out how it fix a VF-31 when I get home. The only concern is, the edge that touches on and supports the weight of the Valk is rather thin, so if it is not a perfect fit so that weight can be spread out across the whole edge, I am worried about pressure point and paint wear.

I think this will work. 1. Bandai design and develop a toy that we like and decide on the lot size increment (say min 1000 units per lot) that works for them and their supplier. 2. Announce the product. 3. Predict as best as they can about the number of lots for the initial allocation for retailers. 4. Accept order from retailers. With limitation and allocation as per now. 5. Big retailers can then order lots from Bandai within a fixed window (in terms of days, so no big extra delay) if they can be confident about selling them. To protect themselves, the big retailer they can allow buyers to pay and reserve with the risk of losing the deposit if they back out. And the buyer will get a refund of the deposit if the number of orders didn't reach the lots size boundary. 6. PO window closes, Bandai goes ahead and produce the order (maybe with some extra as per what they are doing now). Step 5 is totally optional and if a retailer takes up the offer, they will be the one that will get the extra money left on the table. Scaper will not take part because they know everyone we want one will be able to PO one from the big retailer. As long as there is one big retailer that willing to do step 5. The small retailer who does not have sufficient buyer to order in term of lots can try to negotiate with a big retailer for x units that they think they can sell. Bandai only needs to allow a few days for 5 to take place. Is this too complicated? I know nothing about toy manufacturing and distribution, so this is just me play acting as a consultant.

I have also found pictures of this and a review of the uniform on anymoon.com (as always, a very reliable source of information). Will discuss the possibility with people that know how to make these kinds of thing. Will come back with order request to gauge demand if it turns out to be possible.

If we can provide some good reference and have sufficient order size, might be possible to find someone the fill the order. I will search around, but if anyone have good reference art that is suitable please share. Edit: Nevermind, found this: http://www.gunjap.net/site/?p=5933

Thanks, might be handy for something else that is not PO then. The 10% on Rakuten by FromJapan will expire today.

Nice comparison. There is serious anime magic going on as expected.

The seller (shop) and Bandai can implement a better anti-scalper system for ordering these items if they wanted to. Can be complicated or might require effort but it is theoretically possible. But at the end of the day, do any of them care enough to spend the time/cost to solve this problem? We are suffering but if our suffering does not translate to a loss of sale for them in the future (or if they don't think so), there is no pressure for them to do anything. @Shizuka the Cat has a theory that sounds the most convincing so far (we never really know why Bandai limit PO to a fixed amount). So Bandai needs to protect their own interest and weight leaving money on the table (loss of potential sales) vs overproduction. The system used by a small player such as the Owl-one by Flex-Hobby can be an example. You reserves as many items as you want to buy with a deposit in a given time window. If demand is sufficient for a production run/lot then it will be fulfilled. Cancel and refund otherwise. But I don't see Bandai going through such a messy setup. Maybe at a larger quantity level between seller/shop and Bandai. But at the end of the day, I still don't see how we can influence Bandai/seller to change/improve. Vote with our wallet? Don't buy anything until they change? Hard to organize such a protest.

What is the coupon code? There is also domestic shipping (estimated at 999) and fee (not sure how much this will be). So final total is unclear.
-
Nice, now you have two. Extra sweet when the second one is paid for with "found money".
-
You have done so much. We are grateful. If you saw one again, maybe you can just get it. There will be a queue to get it off your hand.
-
Second that. @Shizuka the Cat deserves a medal for her service to this community.
-
missed it.
-
You are right. I should do it. Seeing a few that did make me feel more like doing it too. Well, was going to pull the trigger on the YF-19 full set that I had been eyeing to make up for the bad feeling I have from missing Max. Will decide between them tonight. Max and NY cost about the same as the YF-19.
-
Stop torturing those that didn't get one. Please!
-
I am very worried that if I got to sleep now, I will wake up seeing another missed opportunity to get one. This is how insomnia start.
-
BTW, had anyone that get one at HLJ seen any cancellation? I hope they get the glitch fixed. It will be such a disappointment if it does happened.
