What are the URL's for those boards? Don't bother with BigWest forum, it's mostly dead. 2ch is the place you want to check, but it'll do you no good unless you can read Japanese. 2ch Yamato Macross Toy Thread Strange rules however with the 2ch forums. After 1000 posts, all threads must be recreated, so the link will not last forever.

Heehee, I did a bunch of BCNM40's in giddeus this weekend. Got pwned 3 times in a row (DAMN YOU SLEEP SPELL), but I had the most fun I've ever had in that game for awhile now. Can't wait to get pwned some more next weekend! Btw, high chocobo cost = high rental amounts. The more people running about on chickens, the more it will cost. *edit--Ahh, one more thing. If youre going to try sleep the dragon, make sure your blm casts elemental seal before casting sleep. With it, you're almost guaranteed to sleep him. Without it, you're just wasting MP. **editx2--My handle in FFXI is Imode. You can add me to friendlist if you want, and I can answer any questions you might have while playing. (Friendlist works across servers but only through mail). I'm basically on from late afternoon till midnight, H(awaii)ST.

Meh, I don't mind the removable parts thing. Yamato already has a nice solution for a stable nose cone piece thanks to the problems of the 1/48. I can only hope they devise a better leg removal solution as I didn't care for the way the 1/60 did it. With no Diecast, the toy should be much lighter, and they should be able to have snap-on solutions rather than the 1/60's metal tab/hole connection where you had to take off the entire leg just to get it out of fighter mode.

Not to mention that everytime you wanted to change gears, you'd have to have the tires rotated.

YOU SICK BASTARD!!!! Heaheh They don't say specifically. All it says is that it can transform into all 3 modes by swapping out parts (unless my Japanese is getting bad...). This is in contrast to earlier reported news of a perfect transformation 1/60 VF-0 from about a year ago. (http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/news/_news_n052.htm) Keep your fingers crossed!

Possibly. The Macross Zero license is a possible goldmine with so many different mecha, so there's no real logical reason to make a 1:100 toy when Yamato knows they can charge $120 for a high quality toy. They use the term sashikae transformation that imples that parts will be exchanged/removed and placed back into form to transform to various configurations akin to the 1:60's. In any case, you can make a fleet with these little guys here: http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/toys/_.../_toys_arii.htm

Rank 2 mission? Is this embassy one where you have to kill the dragon at the end? This requires no high level help, just a full party of 6. Full party well rounded @ 25 = VERY EASY fight. Well rounded party of five = Easy. You can probably take it on with 4 too with food and various enhacing items (pies and orange juice for mages, seafood for the tank, meat for the physical offense and maybe potions for everyone.). You can ask a level 70 person, but that won't really do any good as he'll end up leveling down to 25 anyway. Only thing you really need is a black mage. Enter the battlefield. Sleep the dragon, mighty strike the eyeball, eyeball dead. Then everyone else use 2 hour on dragon until its done. I don't know how the Bastok quest goes as my character is Sandorian, but if you're killing the windurst dragon in giddeus, the dragon casts a really nasty powerful curse. It only casts on one person, so be sure to watch out for it. It dropped my monk's max HP count from 500 to around 95 and it lasted for a very long time. If you have any stun skills (H2H shoulder tackle, Paladin Shield Bash, Drk weapon bash, BLM stun spell) you should be able to stop him from casting it.

I understand you all completely. That's why I try as hard as possible to find Japanese parties or American parties who are rank 4+. When I had to level up my subjob and started partying with people who were subjob-less, I just had to cringe. Was I that noobish at level 17? I don't think so, and this is the first MMORPG I have ever played. Then there are those who ask for help every 5 seconds for really simple stuff, and when I tell them to look things up on the internet they give me the "I'm too lazy, F--- you", line. I have joined 4 linkshells so far, and they all ruined by 1-2 people who act just like that. Sometimes I think the Japanese are a little to obsessed with "manner" but in cases like this, I really appreciate the fact that they are. Vostok, as for the no whm rule, there are exceptions. As usual with the shortage of white mages in the game, I took a level 25 or so group to Qufim which consisted of a warrior, a monk (me), a red mage and three black mages. We had our doubts, especially the rdm who after being told that he was the main healer, replied, "Dude, if this sux, I'm gonna bail." Instead, it turned out to be the fastest and easiest killing of crabs that I have ever done.

It says they are 1/60 scale. So that would be a bad price. Judging by the pictures tho, pretty sure they meant Yamato 1/48.
-
Shouldn't be too expensive. At 4 centimeters smaller than the VF-11FP, there's no reason it would be anywhere even near 7800yen. I was reading some Japanese forum where they said the price would probably be about a more reasonable 4000 yen. And yeah, I know I was being harsh. I really should have explained that while 1:100 != crap, having Macross toys in all different sizes leaves me moderately perturbed.

Technically, I wasn't whining either. Aegis wanted to know why we weren't talking about the zero, so I had to answer truthfully with the answer I believed truly represented the sentiment of all reading the thread. And dang, that's a nice stand...

Use the quote button above ^^^^. Has to be done manually.

Yeah, I don't really mind. I'm a firm believer of the "If you don't like it, don't buy it" policy. My credit card needed a break, and this is the perfect chance for it to take one. I too will be holding out for a more high quality version however. In the meantime, I'll admire the stand

Says, "We have already introduced the Hasegawa 1:72 VF-0 on page 140, however..." Some of the other wording makes it sound like it's going to be like the 1:60 line as well. In other words, unclip the legs, then put them back on. Just want to say something first ...why in the name of God are you all talking about the damn stand when we´re finally looking at a Yamato Macross Zero toy !!!!??? Who gives a shnit about the stand , Yamato finally demonstrates they have the M0 license ! Anyway , I think they´re making the same as the VF-1 line , having a smaller , less detailed scale of toys and then a bigger more detailed one. In this case the 1/100 VF-0S toy takes the place of the 1/60 VF-1 and I´m hoping there´s a 1/60 VF-0 that´s gonna equal to the 1/48 VF-1. I personally I´m gonna wait for the perfect edition Vf-0 toy (1/60 hopefully) so I don´t have to take the legs off my valk. We always knew Yamato had the license. You want to know why we're only commenting on the stand? BECAUSE 1:100 IS A LOAD OF CRAP. I know, I scold you whiners some times, but you have to agree with me, this is a valid whine. Just when you thought that Yamato was going to standardize a scale, they go ahead and introduce scale number four. Go go go, Yamato.

1:72 would make it YF-19 size, maybe slightly larger. Maybe Hasegawa has exclusive rights to M-Zero in 1:72?
-
It's so you can do those nice backwards boost in space shots. I'm just sitting and praying that G-man's secret pictures aren't of a 1:100 VF-0...
-
Stand is nice. VF-0 @ 1:100 ... Methinks someone at Yamato be taking one too many hits from the bong.
-
Yeh, I'm gonna have to agree with that too. I don't have the same gripes, as I can understand Japanese and whenever possible try to play with them instead of the Americans. The whole non-solo part isn't what really bugs me though. What really bugs me is the fact that unless all members of the party are on the same level or +- 1 different, the xp will pretty much suck. Now the ultimate sucky part is that the rare items in the game are so rare that it makes me want to stab my eyeballs out. Now I'm sure you've all seen the disclaimer when you first start the game, especially the part about where it says "Don't forget your family, friends, school, work, etc..." Then Square goes and makes the special monster that drops it spawn once every 24 hours (give or take 12 hours). Not only that, but if you ever happen to randomly encounter said monster, it's far too strong unless you have a full party to take it on. In this case of course, you'll have to split the loot six-ways, meaning if the item ever drops (there's no guarantee that it will...), you still won't get it, as your party will be telling you to put it up for auction. That being said... I'm still having fun. If you want to play one class and only one class (where that one class just so happens to be one of those really tough expansion job ones) then I must admit, you're a bit out of luck there. Eventually I'd like to try a little bit of everything, so the game is perfect for me in that respect, especially since my main job is one of the original 6. If the game doesn't work for you, then there's no way to get around it. There's always World of Warcraft to wait for.

Finally got to watch Mac 0, my 1st impressions
imode replied to JKeats's topic in Movies and TV Series
I can't complain about the detail in the CG beacuse it is very high quality. However, I really wished they'd slow things down a bit. It's like they made crappy low frame CG animation then sped it up to look more fluid. Half the time, I can't figure out what exactly is going on. I say, if you can't make animation on par with pixar (don't even speak to me about Gonzo), then you shouldn't even be trying. -
I don't know....do you think Hollywood is ready for 14 year old kids masturbating over comatose girls? Well, they can leave that juicy little morsel out.
