  1. How "itty-bitty" is this thing?
  2. Need something translated, give me a link.
  3. Why would Yamato want to expend their resources on an old OVA that's over a decade in its tooth when they can cash in on Macross 0, which is "in" and "now", immediately? Maybe they just ran into severe engineering problems and had to start from scratch more than a few times. Because no matter how "in" and "now" macross zero is, the VF-0, physically, is a re-tooled VF-1. By comparison, the YF-19 is something new and fresh and dare I say it, far sexier than a VF-0.
  4. Lottery pop for lizard spawns.
  5. Well, to quote another post there, "they finally made a toy on par (I'm assuming he's talking about the 1:48) with the quality of the old takatokus and now they go and do this...?"
  6. Moo, there's already a thread for this... ---> here: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?...=26&t=4938&st=0
  7. But this could just as well blow up in their faces as consumers both abroad and domestic are apparently unhappy over the change to 1:100. There are examples from Japanese forums where they equate this new line to being like a Banpresto VF-0, except this will cost 2x as much. If they really wanted to "test the waters" without much financial risk, you'd think they'd go to a scale that has already proven its worth, IE. 1:60. A new fourth scale is just as big a risk as trying to put one out in 1:48.
  8. That's actually quite nice. Looks to be very poseable as well. But $80? You can't be serious.
  9. Whee, that's nice~ I have my own set of these decals but I'm so scared to use em. I wish i had your talents.
  10. She speaks from experience unfortunately Vostok 7 It's a game!!! A gamee!!!!! You would be surprised. I already am.... Battalia Downs is not so bad. It's crawling with nasties (as are all the other areas) but the terrain is wide open and allows ample time to see an enemy before he's right upon you. Sauromugue is also like that, except the baddies there are REALLY nasty, and there are roadblocks and the terrain dictates where you have to walk a lot of the time. Rolanberry is a straight path, so if ther'es something blocking the road, all you can do is wait.
  11. I find it odd how Yamato has to make a small version of something before they see if they can justify selling a larger version. You'd figure by now that the sales of the 1/48 has already shown Yamato that what people want are "bigger" and "more detail". There must be something truly diabolical happening if the execs look at their figures and say, "what we need is something smaller, that breaks up into 4 pieces then you have to put it back together."

  13. Whoa whoa, you two taking the whole roleplaying thing too far!
  14. Yikes. I still haven't received my pre-order from VE after kev ran out of the first shipment. This was supposed to be a birthday/christmas present for someone too.
  15. It sounds like as long as the jieitai (Japanese Self-Defense Forces "SDF") are currently deployed to Iraq, he will have his hands full with the commissioned Self-Defense Force related Konami products to be featured in Model Graphix, and thus will have no time to make anything relating to Macross.

  17. Standard? My child, Yamato has no standard scale.
  18. Well, the greatest way to tell Yamato that you don't like their product is with your wallet. Not buying it sends a stronger message than any whine or rant on an internet forum ever can. Let Yamato pay the price for their lack of vision. ...did that just come out of my mouth? I don't want Yamato to pay a price for making macross zero toys. if they do, they won't make better ones, they won't make any.... there's a reason why the bigger better VF-0 hasn't been officially announced. If we don't buy this crap now, we won't get the good stuff EVER Ditto. If the 1/60 had never been produced and sold well we might have never seen the 1/48s too , though this time around Yamato KNOWS there´s a collector´s market out there and they can sell high quality items to that market. but regardless of this they´ve already invested in the 1/100 M0 toys so if those don´t sell well they´ll definetively loose money and won´t have any resources from which to invest on a perfect VF-0 toy. I think some people still think Yamato is made up of a bunch of guys working out of their basement hand-tooling molds. More than once I've heard the "If you don't buy X, then Yamato won't have enough money to make Y", arguement. I have a feeling that Yamato already has plans to make a larger more detailed version whether the 1:100 sells well or not. You're just falling for their marketting schemes. This whole news drought thing is probably less of an issue of "giving ideas to competing companies" but rather an issue of not telling the consumer that better crap will be coming out later so that we'll buy all the little 1:100's now, then be "forced" to buy all the 1:XX whatevers later on as well because our rampant fanboyism starts getting in the way of common sense.

  21. I can only assume this has to do with the 1:100, so I figure with a price at around 40 bucks, I'd buy 1 just to see for myself how good it is. If it's good, I'll buy more. If it sucks, then I save my money. It's good to be just a Macross toy freak and not a Toy freak in general.
  22. http://www5.plala.or.jp/SQR/ff11/monster-b...ml#40BalgasDais Star Orb - BCNM Even dying is loads of fun. It's such a rush, and if you win the payout can be huge I'm running out of Beastman Seals!
  23. Hah, well I took liberties. But I figure, if they were speaking english, they'd say the exact same thing. Anyway, here: http://www.hlj.com/scripts/hljpage.cgi?YMTX-04 It's a manga made into anime made into toy.
  24. I read them when I'm bored. I'll translate a few fun ones for you, especially concerning the 1:100. #219 - Seems like Yamato's making the VF-0 @ 1:100 around 4000 yen. Swapping parts is pretty lame. Not even Banpresto's had to do that. #226 - (regarding q-rau) 12800 yen!? Screw that. #232 - Ideon rocks! VF-0 is the suck! Consider yourself warned! #276 - How many stands will you people be buying? #277 - Lots. #283 - Bullshit! #284 - Bullshit! #288 - I just saw the announcement for the 1:100 simple transformation in a magazine. I know they're trying to time it with the release of the OVA series.... but if Yamato has so much time on their hands WHY CAN'T THEY GIVE US THE YF19FP!? #289 - Simple Transformation?? What's that mean? It can transform perfectly, but can't move? #290 - It'll be like the K&M. You have to switch parts around. #291 - 1:100? I'd rather have a Takatoku. #292 - I'd buy tons.... of the stand I mean. #298 - Sucks sucks sucks sucks sucks sucks sucks x 50 - Yamato sucks. #359 - 361 is funny, but not suitable for translation for younger readers #364 - Have they announced the 1/48 Koenig Monster yet? Kthx. #365 - Hello everyone, I'm Min Rinmei! #366 - MIIIINNMEEEEIII!!!!!! (starts goin off topic here) #379 - Yamato's new newsletter was full of crap again. Nothing about the stand. (Yesterday's newletter. No mention of anything except for Yamato's new Ikkitousen toy.)
  25. 1:60 as a scale is nice. Too bad the quality of Yamato's 1:60 line is whack.
