Bandai/Tamashi Nations 1/100 lineup. 2009 takeoff!
Ivan replied to UN Spacy's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
I got one today at Tai Po Plaza. Like everyone said, box art looks nice. However, I find the toy a bit fragile. Nevertheless, although I've been handling it quite roughly, the toy is still okay so far. The transformation / swapping parts was quite a pain, and I almost forgot where certain parts were supposed to go when reversing the transformation. I know most people like the fighter mode, but I actually don't like it that much, as the legs don't lock together well. Battroid mode, on the other hand, is quite nice. Overall, I think I personally still prefer the DX version. -
This kind of thread is no good unless Graham gives us some insights

Official Bandai 1/60 Scale DX Toy Thread Ver.3
Ivan replied to Graham's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
I think it's a good thing in the long term: - if everything can be done in China, there's further room for cost reduction, and prices may come down - China's industries are slowly shifting from low-skill labor to more high end stuff However, I am just curious if the design job was farmed out voluntarily or required by some clause in the contracts. -

If Bandai does reissue the VF-25S Ozma type, I hope they will use the opportunity to re-design the neck, which is not unlikely these days. -

Will VF-25S Ozma type be also reissued? -
Super Saiyan Son Goku... I don't own the regular GoKu and have only seen it in display. However, based on visual comparison, the quality of the regular one seems to be a bit better. The clothing seems sloppy and the skin complexion looks too pale. Still, I think it's a cool toy (I have low standards for toys anyway)

Hi Graham, where exactly is Tai Po Plaza? Is it near the train station? I only know of Uptown Plaza. Thanks. Ivan -
Macross Frontier Episode 17 Talkback Thread *READ 1st Post*
Ivan replied to azrael's topic in Movies and TV Series
Man, hearing Basara's songs made me wish that he would just show up in Frontier, start singing and piss everyone off. I miss Macross 7 -
Hi, Does anyone know if Graham posted a transformation video like he did with the other valks earlier? Thx
-
At least the 1/100 DX line is still alive and not cancelled, as Graham had suspected earlier.

Macross Frontier Episode 4 Talkback Thread *READ 1st Post*
Ivan replied to azrael's topic in Movies and TV Series
I actually don't mind. Less is more, in my opinion. This is what made Jaws work so well. They also tried to do the same thing in Cloverfield. So I'm all for slowly revealing the battle ship. -
Why do they have to release the same color schemes as Yamato and in the same order too?

Is that Machine Robo's Baikanfu in the poster behind the VF-11b? Does that mean it will coming out also in this toy line?

So is Kevin from Valk-Ex planning to sell these dolls? I know he still sells Macross stuff from time to time. Would be interesting to see all the stock at his place...

Does anyone know what the difference is between Wonderfest Winter and Summer? Would love to attend one of these some day. Thx.

That's exactly my thought. The Megahouse figure without the armor looks really odd, whereas the CM version is much more proportional in all modes. BTW, based on my experience, Singapore (especially stores in China Square) usually get their stock a few days to a week after Hong Kong. The official release date for MH in HK is next Tuesday, so expect them some time after that.

Just got the CM and MH Ley type over the weekend. Personally, I think the CM one looks much better, but the MH one seems more solidly built.

Thanks, man.

Hi guys, I saw the Rey and Stick type at a hobby shop today, but couldn't tell which is which, as the box designs are almost identical. Does anyone know how to distinguish the two? Thanks.

Jackie Chan + Jet Li = The Forbidden Kingdom
Ivan replied to UN Spacy's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Well, to do Jet Li some justice, he said that Fearless would be his last "WuShu" film, not last film. And in case you are wondering whether his latest films are "wushu" films, the answer is no. They are action films. And yes, there is a difference. -
Jackie Chan + Jet Li = The Forbidden Kingdom
Ivan replied to UN Spacy's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
True, the movie is primarily meant for the Western audience. However, since this is the very first time that these two Asia super stars are collaborating, it is receiving a fair amount of attention in Asia. However, the media so far is not too excited about the film. -

Oh boy, I actually think this movie is going to be crap. Plus, it's never a good sign when even the main actor (Jackie Chan) doesn't speak too highly of his film. Maybe western audience will be more receptive of the film, but I doubt Asians will like it. -
New out of package pics of SOC Baikanfu. Looks really good. http://www.toyskingdom.com.hk/forum/viewth...324&page=47

Somehow I think the Megahouse ones look too nice and good in the pictures to be the actual products. Also, the cyclone in bike mode doesn't seem to hold together very tightly. The CM ones appear to be more representative of the final products. They also look more sturdy. Ivan

Has anyone bought the factory color garland yet? Some pics would be nice.
