Japanese. Try searching with マクãƒã‚¹ or 超時空è¦å¡žãƒžã‚¯ãƒã‚¹.

Scroll down to the big red text, the title's there. Or here: http://www.google.com/search?q=The+Super+D...earch=anime.net

I was always of the impression that it was some kind of a spaceship city used by the Protocultures that first visited Earth - later being abandoned/forgotten as the war with the Supervision Army heated up. I'm not quite sure how the Birdman of Macross Zero fits into it... haven't given that revision much thought, to be honest.

You could always look to the play-by-post Macross roleplaying sites. It may ramble at times, it may be divergent from the canon storylines, but it is fan attempts at keeping whatever it is that makes them interested in Macross alive and continuing. Follow my sig...

Aside from those film comics based on the original series, there's also the Macross 7 Trash Manga http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/transl...ations_menu.htm There's also a couple of short stories that fill in some of the gaps in the SDF:M story. They are in Japanese, and found in Macross Perfect Memory. http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/books/series_pm.htm

I recently purchased the entire set of "This is animation: SDF:M". In it, there is a picture of the bridge of Breetai's flagship after Max has busted through the screen at the rear, and a replacement screen has been mounted inside the ruins of the old screen. The repairs took place well before Breetai became allies with humans, I'm sure it has been previously mentioned in this thread (too lazy to reread it at this time.) Nevertheless, it is strong evidence that there are personnel trained to do at least minor repair/replacement. In this case, not only do the wires to the new screen have to be properly connected, but the screen must be mounted properly, so that it doesn't fall off in heavy manuevers, etc.. Not to mention that the big hole in the bulkhead that Max left needed to be replaced/filled in with wall. I can see Breetai saying, "damn, it's drafty in here! Call the Super."

Don't capitalist countries (ie USA) have anti-monopoly laws? If I remember my news correctly, Microsoft got spanked a few years back in the browser war, and is possibly going to get a big spanking from the EU for its OS. That Guitar Hero stuff sounds like an abuse of the law...

Can't they just get along? Like DDR and that other dancing game made by different manufacturers? So much time, creativity, money, and effort is wasted on lawsuits when they could be put towards Macross dancing and singing games!

yes

The game has some pretty good animation in it. Another good one is an entirely CG clip of the DYRL version of the SDF-1 doing the 'Daedalus Punch' in the rings of Saturn.
-
It's a VF-1. It's the opening animation from the SDF:M Do you Remember Love? game for Sega Saturn and PS1 - first released in 1997. The original music (from Macross) and sound effects (from Macross) is much better - along with the dialogue that they have too.

I've seen karaoke games like that. It wouldn't be too much of a stretch to use the Wii-mote as drums (there's a drumming game being advertised here,) and allow you to play Viffidas!
-
As the game was being produced at roughly the same time as the first two M0 OVAs, it could just be that they were given early line art or read the magazines with the nickname, and included it into the game. If anyone noticed at Studio Nue, it was after removing the name was impossible.

Given the number of Macross games on the PS 1 and 2, vs. other game consoles, my money is on it, if another Macross game were produced. Though... given how many times the SDF:M and DYRL storyline has been recycled in game format, it's likely that the next game will merely be another recycling of that storyline. Personally, I'd like to see a VF-X3, that continues the post-Macross 7 storylines of rebellion, insurrection, terrorism, and attempted coup d'etat of the UN government.
-
Did I say that? No. To clarify, the 'it' in my previous post means a toy version of the VF-4, and not the VF-4 design itself. Let's be honest - the way that the legs attach in jet mode would require some sacrifices to the jet mode of any such toy.

I don't believe so. There exists a transforming model of it (you'll have to search the forums for it.) Though, making it transform, and making it look cool in all modes while being able to transform may not be possible.

Well... it was sponsored by cup noodle. Can't blame them for product placement...

Ah ha! Or maybe that should be a pirate, "arrgh!" As Graham is in the Macross know.

http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/FREEDOM-PROJECT Yes. The first OVA was released on Nov. 24th. Main Characters are: Takeru, Kazuma, Bisu, Junkstore Father, and Taira. Here's the official homepage: http://freedom-project.jp/ Click CM for a 30 second commercial of the OVA/cup noodle.

Not much to add other than clips of it have been appearing in Nissin Cup Noodle commercials for the past couple of months here in Japan. I went to Den-den town last week, and I saw at least one DVD display stand for it. Sadly, all of the DVDs were sold out, so I am still rather in the dark about this production. Though, from what I have seen, it reminds me a lot of Akira (similar characters/character designs?) done in motion capture, and set on the moon. There are a couple of similar vehicles/props to those that appeared in the manga. Though, as they are only flashing by on a commercial, they may just appear to be similar...

Neo-Glaug for Macross Plus Game Edition (no battroid mode, and akin to the Ghost X-9.) The Variable Gluag (a better kit, IMHO) came with Macross M3. It also had two variants - standard, and Zentraedi. Both are much nicer in look than the Neo-Glaug. Mind you, they are refined versions of it...
-
Penguin, sounds like you had a very good run with those two games. Very interesting plots. Wldr, don't feel bad about revising the SDF:M/DYRL storylines. The officials do it all the time with them in video games about it.

Damn... the one ship that I wanted to stress, but completely slipped my mind once I pulled out the book, and opened the Compendium. @.@ There's also a cool oversized missile that Kazutaka Miyatake designed for the battle vs. the Macross 13. Not sure if a kit would be made for that... Hint - don't do anything, no shooting, no nothing, when you reach the choice scene. After about 30 seconds to a minute, the music changes, and the battle resumes (with you and him as allies.) Believe me, shooting him takes the player to the less interesting, much, MUCH more difficult ending... Reviewing the thread, I think this question hasn't been answered directly yet: No. One needs either 'Macross 7: Dynamite', 'Macross: M3,' or 'Macross Plus: Game Edition' to get it.

Dug out my VF-X2 Official Visual Guide: The VFs are: VF-1X-Plus VF-1X-Plus Super VF-1X-Plus Armored VA-3M Invader VB-6 VF-11B Thunderbolt VF-11B Full Armor VF-17D Nightmare Not sure how much of a difference the A,B,D, X makes, beyond the big differences between the VA-3, and the VA-3M (underwater mode, water landing mode, internal missile/torpedo launchers in the arms, internal lasers vs. external gun pod, etc..)
