    Not that I am a fan of either team that played today - but it was a tough loss for Germany. They outplayed Italy most of the game, yet still lost. A shame. BUT, I am glad Italy got to the final ... it'll make the loss that much more bittersweet for 'em!! GO Portugal!!!

    Thanks ... I did consider that. The G2 constructicons are the same size as the originals, only yellow in color and would still cost high prices off of eBay. I think it's the TF Universe series you are thinking of. But after reading some of the reviews for those gestalt minibots and seeing the pics ... well, they just don't compare. The classic G1 original gestalt teams are great - loved 'em as a kid, love 'em now. Hilarious.

    This is off-topic, but sorta related: has anyone seen Starship Troopers Chronicles on DVD? Before you start making fun of me, the animation is awesome and the stories are actually pretty good!! Moreso than the movies. They use the production design from the movies and build some story content from the original book. Give it a try. My 2 cents.

    Wow, you were lucky. I remember me and a few kids living on the same street each got different figures from each of the gestalt series and one time we came close, having 4 of the 5 for a complete robot!! So, of the different gestalt series, which stand out and a "great" set? Thanks mate.

    Ha ha ... tell me about it! That is exactly what happened to me. I found 3 of the 5 technobots in mint shape at my parents' home recently, and decided to complete Computron. Now, after reviewing several TF toy archive sites, I'm seriously thinking of getting another "gestalt" series. I considered the KO versions, but based on comments, I will try getting some G1 versions first. It seems like getting the entire series is cheaper than buying the individual figures. Problem is getting them in decent/good shape without paying a fortune.

    Hey, thanks for the info Baronv - appreciate it. While my primary reason is for display, I do want to be able to transform them every so often, without the worry of them breaking! Luckily, I did own some of the combiner toys when I was younger, I just managed to complete the official G1 Technobots series and form Computron!! Now I find myself slightly addicted ... lurking on eBay for other TF combiner figures!! It's tough, if you buy each figure separately you end up paying big bucks ... man, some of those etailers are pretty harsh with prices. Like $5 for some figure's gun + shipping ....

    I think they also did one of the animated shorts on the Animatrix DVD a few years back too.
