I completely agree!! I did cave and bought a 2nd 1/100 valkyrie, a DYRL Max. And I gotta say, these things are slowly growing on me. I was planning on only getting a few of these, but now I'm not so sure ....

I bought one about 6 months ago ... no problems at all. It is a sweet toy and I love it. And I am sure you can get it for a decent price. Upgrade to the 1/48 scale mate, trust me, you will love it. I started with the Bandai 1/55, then got a Crapnami 1/55 MPC, then the 1/48 Yamato - it is truely the best rendition of a Macross valkyrie hands down.

I had one of these as a kid ... at the time, it was the ONLY Macross toy I owned!! And I didn't realize that the kid next door, who had a G1 TF Jetfire - had a chunky monkey replica.

I had the Leader-1 Gobots knockoff kit and built it when I was a kid. I didn't paint it, but it was pretty decent as I recall. Thing was solid and transformed pretty well ... always wished I had a 1/35 Gakken toy though ....

After reading this thread ... has anyone's 1/48 DYRL Yamato valkyrie yellowed? I'm a little concerned as I have my VF-1S on display in a room that does get a lot of sunlight each day, but not directly on the valkyrie. It is behind glass as well. Am I a fool? On crack? Should I immediately move the valkyrie somewhere else?

I agree with your sentiments mate ... been a long time, a damned long time since cool, fun, awesome Macross toys were available. 2006 has been a great year!!!
