That car is from the TV movie coming in 2008. There aren't any pics for the 2010 movie car anywhere as far as I know.

Then I guess I am a plain and simple pirate. And I guess I don't care.

While I didn't know the exact details as JsARCLIGHT pointed out, that is pretty much what I was trying to say. It's not illegal if we record it, only if we try to turn a profit from it. I personally don't know if there is "free" tv in Japan like our NBC, CBS, Fox, etc (basically any of the networks anyone with a $5 antenna can receive and view without paying for cable) but if someone in Japan records it, subs it and gives it to me, I don't see how it all entirely pertains to what the original article was trying to say about piracyas the main cause of the industries problem. Anything I've ever downloaded has been done by guys like you and me in their spare time. They don't make a dime. They do it because they love anime and want to share it. Age old politics, policies and an utter fear of the future and the internet (and its potential) are the problem. Not 12 guys in their garage subbing Bleach every week. PS - I know Bleach isn't the only anime out there that it's being done to, but for the sake of the debate, it's my choice.

So you feel that recording a football game and showing it later should be punishable? I am not going out of my way to explain away anything. I am simply stating there is a difference between what can be construed as blatant theft and what is for the most part "innocent" acquisition of a tv show. And for the record, I own every Bleach dvd available but it still doesn't stop me from downloading the show a few days after it airs.

Forgive me if I repeat anything, the OP was long enough without reading both pages. While I agree that something has to be done so we will continue to have anime available to us in any form and that the prices we have to pay here are ridiculous, I will also admit I am one of those who downloads copious amounts of anime on a weekly basis. I have to point out that what I download airs on tv for "free". Any Tom, Dick or Kensei can DVR it in Japan the day it comes out. Same thing we can do with anything we watch here on any regular tv network. ABC, FOX, CBS etc. Where does the fine line between stealing and saving for later start to blur? If my buddy DVRs Family Guy and I watch it later because I missed it, am I stealing from FOX and Seth McFarlane because I didn't personally watch it on my tv at home? Same thing goes with Bleach. It airs in Japan. 2 days later I download it subbed and enjoy it. Am I stealing it or is torrenting it a different version of my buddy DVR'ing it? It's a fine line between stealing and "watching later" depending on what it is you're downloading as far as I am concerned.

More like they didn't have a choice.

Battlestar Galactica Discussion
Chewie replied to HoveringCheesecake's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Beware if you're not caught up and a yahoo main page user. The Razor and Season 4 "sneak peak" might as well have said "the last half of season 3 recapped in 3 minutes including who the 4 new cylons are and who Lee sees at the end". No warning, just put it all out there. -
Lines from 40 Year Old Virgin and Full Metal Jacket come to mind. =P

I guess I can understand kids wanting them and they are still the only ones not warming shelves. I've seen a single Wii one time, it was Target in Sherman Oaks and that was 4 months ago. Damn a PS3 would have been amazing at that price...

I voted on the PS3 and the Tivo.

Why all the votes for the Wii? Jesus.

Anyone seen this? Might have already been posted but I am not caught up with this thread. -
.. for the 2D Capcom/SNK lovers 'Question!'

1. Level 1 Sagat - If you know how to play him, you can be everywhere at once. I love it. 2. Level 1 Ryu - It's Ryu. The staple. Plus, a level 3 fist to the face never fails. 3. Level 2 Akuma - Lots of combos, lots of air time. Teleports and the demon. You can't go wrong. -
Except after reading it I realize the guy who made the petition needs to go outside his house a little more. The entire thing strikes me as "too" nerdy. And I had about 30 different tirades to go on about his "cds sound better than "digital files"" thing and the "ZOMG so much effort went into this cd because it's awesome". Yeah, ever heard any other cds from major labels from major releases that sound like trash on a technical basis? Lol But it's cool it got released. Some of the music was pretty good.

Raiden 3 PC better than PS-2 version. New Raiden IV
Chewie replied to retroborg's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
While Raiden 3 was fun the 80,000 times I played it, I personally feel there were WAY too many particle effects on the screen all the time. I don't know how many times I died do a shot that I thought was debris. I also thought the side to side movement was really slow. Granted I am sure the arcade was like that too, I am just used to being to move left to right much faster. -
That is the secks. I am getting a SW next week. Totally rocks. Totally off topic for a second, NSJ23, where did you get those Sentinals?
-
Yeah, there's still a HUGE Spider-Man 3 display at the main Wal-Mart. I'd have to say it's 75% of one side of entire isle. The TFs have 6 sprews and the space below them and they have NEVER been full.

Last non Scion or Subaru alt I saw was Sunstreaker. (at least I think that was his name, yellow viper) and that was 4 months or so ago. Our Targets, Toys R Us and Wal-Marts are useless. My biggest problem I guess is I basically NEED them to be on the shelves since I don't have a card I can use online. It sucks. But hey, if Star Wars is your thing, look no further. =\

That was tight.

I was at my local Wal-Mart today and they had ONE movie toy, the smaller Megatron. They had 9 20th Anniversary Primes, 6 Ultimate Bumblebees and a sh*t ton of Alternator Scions and Subarus. The only other actual transformers toys they had that weren't Star Wars were the Unicron repaint guy from Armada. It was dumb. I have yet to see ANY of the movie toys except for the little camera/cell phone/mp3s player guys and a big prime.

Looked very cool and very promising. I can't wait.

I had no idea that thing was so big. It looks great and some of those super glue fixes for the wings are seriously ingenious.

For me it depends on how I saw it first. If it was dubbed, I most likely won't be able to watch it subbed. This is true for Macross Plus, Samurai Champloo, Ranma 1/2, Cowboy Bebop, DBZ and a few others. I can't stand any of them in Japanese. Whereas I started watching FMA, Bleach, Naruto, Tenchi, Tenjo Tenge and many others that have dubs out there in Japanese with subs and can't begin to watch them in English. As for the argument of missing things, I read too fast to notice things are subbed anymore. Case in point; I was watching the newest Bleach the other day when the halfway point popped up, I was so into the show that I looked away and started straightening my desk and during a dialog heavy part I realized I didn't have any idea what was going on because I was THAT used to the subs. I forgot I had to read the subs. I just kinda went on auto pilot. Toe may toe, toe mah toe. /shrug

If we're talking Star Wars or GI Joe status figures, I'm good off that. While I like a lot of the characters from the series, having them as an action figure is just kinda bleh. I think the closest thing to that that I would like to have is the Revoltech Valk or maybe if they made trading figures I would pick up some of those. Also, those FMA figures are awesome. Saya is pretty hot too.
