  1. In T1 Reese is (lets assume) 25-30 years old. In TS he's 15-17. In TS the 800 is introduced . It's not in high supply, it's not already infiltrating as a human. It's brand spankin' new. Short of the all out blatant-ness of some of the scenes in the movie, (which differ from the prequel book about the secrecy of the resistances airbases) there's no reason they couldn't have a decent supply of military firepower. Even 15 years into the future especially if John was the first one on the radio in the end of T3, he was telling them from the start about hoarding all material. There were probably numerous bunkers all over the world that even if hit with a nuke, they'd still be intact as well. Some of it's questionable but not all out unbelievable.
  2. I dunno, I lock my doors now. Thank you for that. =\
  3. Those are included in the sometimes over hyped debates that abound (and not entirely on MW) about the science of the science fiction material in question. I wasn't trying to say not to or to knock it, just asking why it's such big thing to do now. It used to be "MAN WHAT AN AWESOME (or terrible) MOVIE! THE ENTERPRISE WENT ZOOM-ZOOM!!!!!" whereas now it's *checks pocket protector, tape on glasses* "The Enterprise was clearly not going warp 4 as the schematics on www.nerdrageabouttheenterprisesenginesoutput.com clearly state that the NCC-1701-A's engines could only sustain warp 3.424 and then only at intervals of 8.2 minutes without serious dilithium crystal decay. This movie is crap." You're watching a movie set in the future after WW3. There are 9,000 alien species that can all speak fluent english. Man has a united government that no longer uses any kind of currency. Somewhere in there you have to start accept the craziness of it all, even if as I said, it makes for great debates and conversations. =P PS - Uxi, kind of creepy with the references on the threads I frequent most. Stalker.
  4. I read Alexander Skarsgard was going to be playing Thor a long time ago. Wonder what happened.
  5. Touché. Carry on, nerds. (=P)
  6. Why is questioning the science in science fiction the *thing* to do nowadays? I understand it makes for great, involved conversations but some of you guys act as if you have starships hidden away in your garages and know firsthand how anti-matter, warp drives, proton torpedos and time travel works.
  7. You can see in the trailer clear as day the bot Devastator is sucking in grabs onto something.
  8. Just got back. Not that impressed. The special effects were terrible. For a top dollar Marvel movie to look like this one did when there was something CG on the screen is pathetic. I'd wait for the dvd and just watch Terminator or Star Trek this month.
  9. The book's not bad. A nice set up and lead in for the movie, more or less a "hey, these are who these characters are" kind of thing.
  10. I hate Jar-Jar Binks with a passion but that figure looks pretty bad ass.
  11. I think I missed something, is Caprica a one shot or a new series?
  12. /visa commercial Terminator trilogy/marathon on dvd: $40 Terminator Salvation on opening night, popcorn, a coke and some Dibs: $30 1/1 scale T-800 Endoskeleton purchased without telling anyone about it: $6,000 Sneaking it into your roomate's bedroom while he's asleep later that night, blaring gunfire and screams and youtubing it later that night: Priceless. There are some things money can't buy.
  13. I could be entirely wrong. I read something on yahoo about (paraphrasing) a insect-like robot called The Doctor.
  14. I think he is called "The Doctor".
  15. Also posted in the tv thread. Lots has changed. While I agree to a point that them just up and making him leader of the whole thing is silly from a common sense point of view, as soon as JD happened and he got in touch with anyone they'd learn very quickly that he has EXTENSIVE knowledge of Skynet and that would have to make up for something.

  17. I wouldn't let them use my face on toys that look like they're from 1992 either. The Batman toys compared to the Terminator toys are night and day in quality. Not saying that's why he's being a douche about it, but it's a good reason.
  18. My theory, in spoilers just in case. =)
