David, I don't know why your windows aren't staying the same. I've never had that issue. As for lists, I think they want you to focus more on pinning. You can pin multiple things to a single icon on the task bar now and quickly access them from there. It constantly asking you where to download and save something is a browser thing. Also, like Hiriyu said, turn off "user account control" to stop it from bugging you all the time. I've personally never had any issues with webpages, documents, programs, etc. having the wrong settings when it came to resolution or dpi running various sizes of monitors. What are you trying to do with the font sizes? Different sizes in different places? Try the ctrl+mousewheel resize. Maybe you'll find something you like without the manual headaches. The basic problem I see a LOT of people run into is that they are so used to an ancient OS that they want the new one to be the old one with better behind the scenes mechanics. That isn't the case with 7. It's just simply not XP. Modding the crap out of your system to make it resemble/run XP ends up making the whole point for upgrading moot. You'll end up sucking all kinds of resources just to make sure it looks pretty over learning how to use and become acquainted with the new OS. It sucks, but its generally a necessity. -
The gloss makes it look really cheap. I had no idea 1/60 19s were so big. Definitely missing out over here. =\

Got a month of DCUO for free and my account wasn't even active. Woot.

Optimus is the VF-1 of the TF universe. Not really surprising. I just wish they'd do something else with the inside of the trailer. Roller is fine but the rest of that crap, while a homage to the original, just makes no damn sense.

I told her almost the exact same thing today. First time I've ever seen my Sony rep offended. Lol

Talked to my Sony rep today. She told me they are aiming for no later than May 31st for full online access and possible game only, multiplayer access within the next couple of days. Unfortunately there's still no definite word on the sorry gift they are aiming for. She said that strong rumor is 1-3 months of Playstation Plus access which is crap. Not to mention the SOE part of things is still in the dark too.

Original theatrical versions won't happen with GL still alive, and there will probably be some kind of contract signed, dated, witnessed, sculpted, copied and verified by God stating that it will never happen even after he's gone. He's already said multiple times that the SE and any current versions are closer to his "original vision." I never bought anything but Episode 2 on dvd and the latest sets came out after bluray so it was only a matter of time. I'm excited and the CE will be a welcome edition to my collection. Regardless of what versions they are. As for 3D not being popular in the home market, that's entirely untrue. Sales are incredibly high and are set to double this year. And that's not just 3D "capable" tvs, that's actual tvs with glasses and everything.

Not going to claim to know anything more than anyone else when it comes to aircraft but how does a comic based 20 years in the future get it wrong? We can't really know what would or wouldn't work, can we? Let's assume I don't know why all these things are bad or wrong.

The OT on the discs will be the 97' SE.

ZINGA!

It really sucks that for a new cartoon show made for a bunch of 30+ somethings that they did such a bad job.
-
Have any of you guys seen the comic Titanium Rain? Based about 20 years in the future after the F-35 is in the full swing of things. I met one of the creators at Wondercon this year and kind of forgot about the whole thing until I was cleaning and found the card.

Bluray is coming down significantly in cost. A lot of places have sales all the time for less than $10 too. Best Buy has almost 30 titles this week at $8 a pop. Starting May 8th they're going to be offering $5 a pop for old dvds towards over 130 bluray titles. You can get a good wireless player for $100-120 now and a 3D player for around $170. But as you said, where you are, buying them cheap may not be an option, in which case I make a frowny smiley for you. =(

If anyone is dancing around anything, it's you. You seem to have skipped over anything I've said and just gone to "THEY HACKED IT AND THAT'S THAT." The guy who hacked the PS3 HARDWARE, George Hotz (geohot), didn't hack the HARDWARE looking for personal information. He broke and posted the rootkit, making it possible to mod the system to play any game regardless of DRM or to use an OS on it or pretty much whatever anyone wanted to use the PS3 HARDWARE for. Again, just like jailbreaking an iPhone. Directly, it had NOTHING, again NOTHING to do with PSN getting hacked. It's two entirely different things. What I said in regards to Sony being attacked was that they took NO EXTRA measures to ensure users' personal data would be safe when they KNEW there was a credible threat.
-
The guy they are suing for hacking the PS3 is the same guy who jailbroke the iPhone. User information was not the target in either case. Again, unless there's more to the story that I haven't read, fill me in. Otherwise, you're on the wrong page about the origin of what's going on. In fact here and here. Everything here is speculation and a lot of online talk but: after Sony filed the lawsuit, the hacking group Anonymous told Sony to drop it or they would be sorry. Apparently Anon had already brought down PSN once before for a few hours citing that "hey, we can do it, don't ever go to a pay service like XBL or else" after Sony announced they might be doing so. Sony pretty much laughed in their faces and went on their merry way. This is what I was originally referring to when I said they should have listened. They can do whatever they want, it's their hardware, the problem is that they seem to have taken no extra measures to ensure their customers would be safe with a pretty valid threat sitting on the horizon. So, in essence, as far as I'm concerned, Sony deserved it. When the lawsuits start coming out of the woodwork, I'm sure they'll think twice about feeling so invincible in the future.
-
The guy who "jailbroke" the PS3 stole and sold the information he found? I don't recall that part of the story. The guys who brought down PSN and compromised all of those peoples info? Burn em' at the stake for all I care. Does it have HDMI? If so, yes. It will work. However, for sound you'll need to utilize an optical cable and a secondary speaker system/headphones unless your monitor has some sort of speakers built in.

They're saying at least another week.
-
Haha. Instead of suing the guy, they should have hired him. Plain and simple. You don't see Microsoft suing the pants off of everyone and their cousin for unlocking the potential of the Kinect. They embraced it and it's most likely going to make them more billions. Fact of the matter is Sony was warned, and they sat back and scoffed and now their customers are suffering. I don't agree with it one bit and groups like Anon scare the poo out of me, but these companies that play with fire when told it's gonna hurt, deserve to get burned once in awhile.

Sony should have listened to Anonymous and dropped the lawsuit.
