@xrentonx About waist joint: I think Yamato applied a very delicate balancing on that waist joint. When you raise the barrels/arms above chest level, waist joint automatically tilts the torso back (in order to see the target from cockpit IMO) And when you lower them back waist joint returns back to normal.

It's almost my age too!! Thanks to a glorious lag from TRT (Turkish National Television) I was able to see Macross (as RT) first time in the early 90's! Just before I go to elementary school every day I don't remember how many times they re-aired the series during the early 90's!

Different ankle design, I'm sure it's a VF-25 (Or YF-29, but it's a bit unlikely. It looks like FB7 happens before the last battle with Vajra because Island 1 is still intact)
