  1. The VF-1D has a new nose, canopy, chest plate, back panel and head from the rest of the VF series. The VT-1 and VE-1 has different nose, canopy, chest plate, back panel, heads, vertical fins and pilots as compared to the VF-1D and VF-1. Some of the dislikes were: amputated pilot's legs, having to remove parts for transformation, legs falling off in fighter and GERWALK, paint chipping, holes in legs for mounting of fast packs, little plastic disks to cover screw holes were ugly and fall out, Landing gear not sculpted correctly, Landing gear would not remain deployed, Aft landing gear bay doors incorrect, not having Hikaru and Minmay in the VF-1D, not being able to remove the mounting arm for the radar on the VE-1, Stickers too thick, Not enough die-cast, Too much die cast. I'm sure I have missed some. Edit: Forgot that the wings on the VT-1 and VE-1 are also different from the VF-1D and VF-1.
  2. Not in the budget. Must resist until on clearance sale!!!!!!!!
  3. I'm still waiting for Bandai to release fast packs for this oldie. That can be their great Macross mail in exclusive.

    gummy pilot

Just wait until you remove your gummy pilot and you will see that the paint for the seat has stuck to the pilot. That was an old problem on the VF-1 that I never had but did with my YF-19.
  5. The YF-21's face looks kind of funny and what is the origin of the VF-9?
  6. I have to fast for the next twelve hours. I want this so bad.
  7. Long time ago. I see the tan SV-51 is for sale at 25% off. Too bad I bought two at the pre-order price. As for the shoulders on the VF-0A. It shouldn't be a concern buy after market shoulders here or wait until they break and write Yamato. I bought my red Garland on sale from HLJ. It took a year and a half but the shoulder finally broke. I already had the new shoulders from Yamato waiting for the eventual failure. It is so much easier to have a known problem with a solution then to get a new release and be the test pilot for everyone else.
  8. I had a shipment sent SAL once and it arrived fine but I like having the tracking number with EMS. Just love sales LV2, CF, and now the A.B. Hope this becomes a trend at HLJ. Edit: After a head swap could have a VF-1A, VF-1J, and VF-1S. Should have ordered a fourth and make a VF-1D for VIP rides. So many ideas.
  9. If it is an all white valk with blue paint for highlights then Yamato can easily repaint it for their exclusive Kakizaki. Die Alien Scum had the right idea when he made his own 1/48 TV releases.
  10. Thanks for the course correction but since it is not Yamato's magazine then this makes even less sense.
  11. Yeah, and what do you expect. This is tied to Yamato's new magazine. I do not like it but Yamato will sell their magazine in order for you and everyone else to buy the valk. Yet, the talk about more exclusive releases is sheer stupidity. Release the toys on the open market so that all can enjoy. Anyone that recommends such an idea must get hit in the head more than I do. The only secondary market money I will give up is to the person that makes recasts of the TV head and then I can make my own Max, CF, AB .... W.E.T.H. For those like "Save" that offer their services THANK YOU and I hope that the process will not be too painful but I am going to vote with my cash and not give it to Yamato this time. For those that know Yes I am getting one of the Revoltech Miria VF-1J but if this exclusive crap continues to be a trend then there will be more customs and less purchases in the future. Just look at HLJ 1/48 VF-1A A.B. on sale just waiting of a new head and some blue paint.
  12. They make the correct head in an attempt to lure suckers, LIKE ME, to get one. Besides a new head on top of what is essentially a color change and Yamato is making money.
  13. Is there a deadline for orders and a estimate of the number of kits to be produced? I know that home-made molds will not survive many castings and the amount of interest will impact actual production amounts. This will be a great project. Best of luck.
  14. Is that a mis-transform... the way the chest plate is not seated on the cockpit the the engine intakes?
  15. Kylwell Thanks for the link. That F-104 Starfighter on their website looks great. All I can say is WOW that is a lot of hard work on your part.
  16. The Kotobukiya are snap-fit partially molded in color. They are releasing Patlabor and Ghost in a Shell in 1/72 as part of their mechanical series models. Very nice kits.
  17. Alcladding? You are applying the metal coating finish? Very Nice! but how do you do it? Edit: Do you have your own "home" Vapor Ion coating kit?
  18. For the cost Yamato should include all the bells and whistles... side covers, fixed pose hands, lots of tampo markings, and lots of THIN decals for those that like to customize. Sadly, I look that these new photos and can not get excited. I have a 1/60 VF-1S Strike and all the old two seaters. Are these news one really that much greater and worth the money? I could get excited about the Minmay Guards, Alaska Base, or the LV-1. Or perhaps a Max VF-1S so I don't have to make one.
  19. NMWT-44, I have one Max VF-1J and it is perfect. Three Hikaru VF-1J, one had a bad mold/hole and a wing was glued down. That was the one used as a basis for the CF custom. I am happy over all with the revoltechs they don't seem to have any major QC issues other than the odd paint job. If you get the VF-19 be careful of the head laser. Mine joined Graham's in the broken club trying to get my clear stand to work. RuskiiVFaussie, I don't have any of that blue-tak stuff but have seen all the great things that have been done with it. I was tying to use the clear adhesive pad, Hasegawa Aircraft Stand, with the parts of the Hasegawa Robot Stand. In the end, I drilled a hole in the clear arm and used the Revoltech ball joint and tossed out the Robot Stand claw but the clear pad is what is on the glass. That was after I busted the head laser on the 19. Glad I ordered two. I broke too many parts from the stands so the YF-21 has to sit on the floor of the display. Awful choice if I order new stands for parts then I have to reduce purchases elsewhere. Got to love the budget. Mr March, Glad you like the CF. I got tired waiting to see if Revoltech would release one and broke out the airbrush. Now my hobbies are banned from the kitchen and I am restricted to using my airbrush outside.
  20. Dusting!!! I'd be more worried about gravity and the unforeseen tumble. A safety rail would get in the way of the beauty.
  21. I attacked some GN-U and Revoltechs. Photos are at http://macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?show...0&start=940
  22. Last days of vacation were more productive for the new house than my projects. These have popped up in their respective toy threads. Disassembly of YF-19 GN-U. Joint modification of VF-11 GN-U. Weathering/Fast Packs color/ and mounting arm of YF-19 Revoltech. Cannon Fodder VF-1J Revoltech. Also tossed together a 1/144 Gundam Strike with IWSP, unpainted, so no photo.
  23. RuskiiVFaussie I finally got the modified Hasegawa stand and YF-19 to mount under the glass. And finally in honor of Mr March's peek pose.
  24. Beautiful work!!!! I love the conversion kit, wish they were still made. I noticed you made the head removable for fighter mode.
