what obsessions besides macross do u guys have?
GreenGuy42 replied to kanata67's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
My main passion: philosophy... Of course, I can count anime at the top of my interests, followed closely by good ol' American muscle... I've also been accused of being a health nut, though I just scarfed down a WHOLE order of General Tso.. =D ...like history, mecha, musicals, mecha, engineering, mecha, and even the occasional pen and paper RPG, and mecha.... Yea and Zim rules, btw. -
Guppy, you have NO idea....
-
I'm just savin' for my Prime and Escaflowne... so much stuff on the plate... Hey, anyone wanna buy a barely used PS2?
-
:Man, these are even weirder in real life. You should SEE the sheer amound of fodder Kanata has for his freakish customs. I love 'em.

I predominantly use the edit fuction to add stuff to existing posts. I strongly dislike infalted post counts, and if I have something else to add, it seems a lot more reasonable to simply click "edit" as opposed to creating a whole new post for the viewer's enjoyment...

Oh my good lord... Hah... the way the Matrix SHOULD have been released.. I always hated Hot Rod.

Sorry if I didn't make it clear enough, but I definately meant that comment as a joke. I spent a lot of time in RPG fandom, I know that not everybody is an overweight nerd with social problems, I know that stereotypes aren't true. But.. it was a joke, so don't take it to seriously. I could have mentioned that whole murder case thing, but I didn't. Forgive me, but I hear enough of 'em, and well, hearin' them out of a group of people I respect, and who I would have though were big enough to avoid such presumptions, well it annoyed me.. And, on the murders, yea, blame it on a game line.. While we're at it, let's convict the makers og GTA3 'cause some mentally inept kids decided to open up on some drivers on the highway. <_< People need to learn to take responsibility for their actions instead of blaming And on the points, just take a look at the (horribly) written Love of Monsters. (around 100 and on...) I'd say those stores seem quite similar. ...and I don't seem to remember much Vampire lore that deals with "bloodlines" or "clans" of vampires...

Oh my good Lord; most impressive... ...the (geek) force is strong in this one... If I ONLY had your skills.. -sigh- Graphics programs don't (obviously) agree with my poor Compaq laptop. Methinks I need to get a desktop soon. I miss modeling.

...almost looks like something from Orguss now.

And thus the poor abused Goth kids of the world will have to find their daily amount of "angst" somewhere else. What, no more LARPing!? Yes, all of us poor, abused Goth kids won't have our daily dose of an escape from reality... -groan- <_< Yea, and everyone who watches anime has an inane obsession with everything Japanese... Oh yea, and every toy collector suffers from a receding hairline and severe weight problem... Did I mention they all lack social skills? Did it ever cross your mind that there are plenty of WW players who don't dress in all black and assume that vampires might (or are) real? Oh, and some of us refrain from LARPing. Personally, taking up the visage of some pen and paper character and acting it out seems rather silly to me. I've personally never had the urge to spend my time cookin' in black clothing in Florida, honestly. I want to see the movie, yes, but I also respect copyrights and originality. It's the same reason why I refrain from buying Robotech merchandise... I agree, MOST of the points are simple vampire/werewolf mythos. The case is built on the SHEER number of coincidences. Who other than WW refers to Lupine/Vamp hybrids as Abominations? Bloodlines? Come on. ...and oh yea, WW did credit many of its inspirations, such as Ann Rice in their books, so claiming WW's guilty of simply ripping off material without any sort of recognition is simply nonsense. If you don't like the game, so be it. On publicity... White Wolf publishes the second most popular table-top RPG (behind AD&D, obviously...) A new Vampire games based off the HL II engine is comin' out.... Their Exalted line has pulled in more fans, and book for book, is almost outselling its Vampire counterpart. Oh yea, a game's comin' out for that universe too, bein' put out by a fairly well known (and respected) game company. Aw dag. Making money (or exposure...) doesn't seem to be much of a problem for them, methinks...

A 1/48 Elint....? I'd sell my soul.
-
Abominations...? It's not that there's one or two similarities. It's the sum of the whole. ...and that's quite an oversimplification of a LOT of the claims... Oh yea, let's not forget the similarity between Underworld the the story written by Nancy Collins. Granted, it sucked, but well, it's still HER material.

If I'm not mistaken, didn't one of the major distributors just lower their prices by US8? Stuff like that (plus decent quality stuff...) will give me the will to purchase CDs.
-
Actually, no.. Take a trip over the www.penny-arcade.com and sneak a peek at the lawsuit. It's not just general vampiric lore... and, I'm FAR from goth, yet I like V:tM and the derivates. I've been running the same character since about 1997.... =D Hey 1st Boarder, you'll get a kick at some of the points. Personally, I hope Sony gets burned for this one... I'm gettin' sick of Hollywood's rehashes..

The Enterprise-B is an Excelsior-class vessel. The only changes to the Excelsior's exterior are paint apps and a few add-ons and that varient reappeared for DS9's two-parter "Homefront" and "Paradise Lost". The Constellation-class is the four-engine ship roughly the same size as the Enterprise-nil and Enterprise-A. Captain Picard once commanded the Constellation-class USS Stargazer until he was forced to leave the wreck after destroying a Ferenghi cruiser. What pissed me off was that Picard left the wreck mostly intact (and got off the resulting court-martial), which will later be stolen by the Ferenghi Bok to be repaired and reprogrammed as his instrument of revenge against Picard. Oh! Oh! OH!! I meant Constitution and Enterprise-A... haha.. my bad.... ...the one that replaced the ship which self destructed... I believe.. Hahah.. shows you how much I know about Trek...

Graham, green light for MAcross 0 toys info?
GreenGuy42 replied to Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0's topic in Toys
IIRC, Graham said we'd have to wait until spring for some of the neat things Yamato has planned... Give it time, Shin. -
Wasn't the Enterprise B a shoddy, old Constellation class? I mean, old, beaten up ships have mucho character and just.. rule...

I remember seeing some factions beginning developing in the Federation during DS9, some later TNG shows, and the movies. I would like to see something develop from that. I'm not a HUGE Trek fan (a bit too idealized for my taste...) but I still enjoy watching it occasionally. Let's see some sort of political infighting, near and/or complete civil war, or some other discontent. The Feddies control HOW many alien planets with few representitives serving in the military? There seems to be so much potential for intrigue but it's rarely explored... Edit: Typos Also Edit: I completely agree with DestriodsRage. Perhaps said cruiser could be some no name, taking its part in said civil war. I would watch that.

Ditto. Now all I have to do is find something to use as a stand so I can display it in flight with the radar array on the bottom fully deployed. I know someone around here [sithlord maybe] sells really cool stands periodically that work great displaying complex things off the ground. GO throuh the "for sale" section a few pages and I'm sure you will find it. I need to get one myself as it's the only way I'll ever be able to display my violator valk in fighter mode LOL. Dude your violator valk scares me...

LORD OF THE RINGS: THE RETURN OF THE KING
GreenGuy42 replied to Angel's Fury's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I have to really agree with Faramir. IIRC, didn't he refuse the ring in the Two Towers to avoid his brother's fate? However.... I still enjoy the movies immensely. Part of me was very satisfied with the elves got off their pompous rears and helped out at Helm's deep. It'll be interesting to see what changes are in store for The Return of the King.... -
