You can put me down for 1...

Yeah, my head needed a bit of work, but it is still well worth it. I'm not sure about the Hyperdyne kit right now, i need to call Niesen in the next week or so, i will ask him... mike

I'm the one casting the legs for the Probe Droid for Niesen and Rolondo, it's really something else! I will likely get the Hyperdine kit if i get a second probedroid.... mike

Last pic with the 1/72 scale HCM

Mods, hope it's ok to start a new thread for the finished pics, if not i will merge into the info thread thanks mike OK for anyone who wanted to know what the kit looked like together and painted up, here you go, excuse all my stuff in the backround, this thing is too big for me to set up a backround right now.... mike

Also, I finshed up my build and paint up last night for the instructions, i will be positing the instructions all this week as i finish up the narative. I will post some pics of the finished up kit later today, i may start a new thread for the completed pic. thanks mike

Good ... as long as you're aware that I still do Although .... I wont even be able to start "thinking" about working on it till late August due to some WWII modelling committments (yes, I know, there's a very special kind of hell reserved for me ...) ... I don't know what your release schedule looks like, Mike, but if you want to push me down the list a "bit" so that somebody who's frothing at the mouth can start on it next month already, feel free. 416950 Once i get to your name on the list i will PM you the info, once you get that you can pay for your kit anytime after that up to the end of the run, so once i get you the final price with shipping, you can just pay when you are ready.
-
Looks like flash will be the next to be contacted for payment, all kits with the exception of 2 (that just paid) have shipped, i have parts for both of the outsanding kits so those should be finished up and shipped by Wed. Once the instructions are done i will be back to full steam ahead. I will be done with my kit build (for the instructions) tomorrow and then will begin posting the pics that i have been taking in a new thread with a narative throughout the week. Keep in mind that not everyone on the list still wants a kit, i've only had a couple either drop, or need to wait until later, but you may get moved up in the que faster than the actual amount of people infront of you.... thanks mike

I'm just about half way there, i expect to be done with them on monday and i will post it all up in the How to build forum....
-
I'm sure by the end of the run i will have enough rejects for a full kit

Oh, sorry about the trip to the ER, I've been there a few times for modeling related stuff...mostly exacto cuts .....

Yeah, i have to admit the rings look nice, I know in some versions they are there for sure as raised rings, and in other pics i thought that they were painted on, be seeing them on makes it look reallly cool. Of course i do not cast the cannons and strips that thin would be very hard to cast, so i will likely mention it in the intructions that people may want to add them. I also am going to try pactra tape on mine, it will be a bit raised, and since the tape will already be black you could add them after painting the cannons then flat coat the whole thing..... thanks again mike

From the painting of the 1/160 do you have any tips about the lighter green color, was it custom mixed or a straight FS color? thanks mike
-
Gosh, i know that i am biased, but those pics gave me the chills...the good kind....

One thing if you are getting ahead of the instructions is to look out for the forward part of the arm cannon, the one with the 3 big holes...there are 2 parts, the flat one will need a little dremel work where the holes are, i mated them up, marked where i wanted to dremel, dremeled out the flat part, painted the inside black, then glued together and puttied...it will be clearer in the instructions but just wanted to give you a heads up... mike

I just looked at the patterns for that part and i did not even realize that there was a difference in the thickness of that part on the patterns, I made 4 low shrink patterns for that part (so i could make a mold with 4 cannons in it). when i did that i was unhappy with that ring so i wrapped a thin strip of styrene around it, it looks like on one of them i must have grabbed the wrong strip, you most likely ended up with 2 because all the parts wind up in a box that i grab from for shipping parts. Looking at the cast parts is seems to be a very small difference (let me know if i am wrong), so i would say that you can either add a very thin strip of styrene to the smaller ones, pick a combo like you were talking about above, or give the bigger ones a quick sand to bring them down to match the other 2. Sorry, it was not an intentional design thing...i guess it's one for the whoops column.... mike

Do you mean the part just forward of the modified, kind of half ball part on the cannon?
-
Ok, everyone who has paid in the second batch has shipped with the exception of THOR, and his is in the box ready for monday shipping. I am going to contact the next 5 people in the next day or so, along with those kits i will also be doing the instructions starting on monday, so there will be a slight slowdown in shipping, not a stop, i just can't cast a kit a day while doing the instructions. But once the instructions are done it will be back to full steam ahead thanks mike

Oh, an i just saw in the pics that i did not drill out your cannon mount holes, i knew i forgot to do that on one of them..sorry.....i use a 3/4 inch bit to drill those out. mike

No offense to mike but i like the look of the 1/100 feet a little more. The sharp edges i dont like but the toe shape and the indentations on the foot match line art a bit better. Not that this really bothers me much the damn thing is almost 2 feet tall 414157 No offense taken of course, the feet went thru a few different versions and ended up most influenced by the yellow sub kit..see the link below... http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/models...nster-inst3.jpg ..it was one of the parts that bugged me because there seemed to be 5 or 6 different ways you could make the feet if you looked at different sources...

I am planning to start the instructions for the kit most likely on monday or tuesday next week. For the "hip" ball joints i am going to recommend drilling a 1/8 inch hole thru the ball joint and into the upper leg, then inserting a 1/8 inch solid brass rod, i did that for the dry fit and it held it together without any glue... The body panels will be one of the parts that will need the most tweaking to fit in, the main body shrinks a bit more than the 3 panels that fill the bottom because it is 3lbs of resin, and anything that generates that kind of heat will shrink more than some thing that is only 1/4lb of resin... I will have assembly tips and paint tips in the online instructions..... mike
