The 1/72nd monster is already about 75-80% done, with almost everything tweaked or new from the V1. I don't know if i will be able to cast it over the winter but hopefully it will be the first up in the spring for casting. This has been put on the back burner for way too long and i need to finish it. I'm going to give the sculptor much more lead time on Milia, actually i gave him lead time on this as well but he had a busy summer, which is why i am putting the finishing touches on the above. As for Milia, I want her in her TV bad guy uniform and looking good..... thanks mike

I think the body, legs and arms are in apoxy sculpt and the head is baked super sculpty. I will be able to resulpt, sand/wetsand it and get it smoother and more refined. I am going to sculpt the helmet once i mold and cast a copy of the head to work off of. I am not sure about a rifle but will think about it. I want to use him again for a 1/48 TV Milllia standing pilot. After this casting season is over I am hoping to finish up the V2 monster in 1/72 and then get onto a 1/48 TV Q rau.....hopefully. thanks mike

I'll know better when it gets here what i can do with the joints, I don't want it to look "toyish" by adding ball joints, but would like some pose-ability. I can take a look at doing a tutorial on how to change a fixed pose figure by sculpting joints with apoxy-sculpt. mike

1/48 standing pilot figure is on the way to me, I will refine this a bit more but the sculptor did a good job IMO. There are a few things i want to change but it's sure a great launching point for me to finish up from. thanks mike

I have an original Club M and one of the recasts, I built the recast but it has not fair well over the years and needs a restoration. I have started the original but I have been doing a super slow build on it, partially because i am pretty busy but also because i have been working it out so that i can have magnets holding on some of the armor so that the "insides" can be accessed or parts even swapped out. The best thing about the original is the metal landing gear, the worst thing is the insane amount of mold release on the parts, they are pretty greasy to be honest, it's a complaint that I have heard before about the originals. Overall it's really a great kit and IMO more than anything a real part of macross model history. I love the hand made feel to it, in fact it love that about many of the 90's classic resin kits, just knowing that someone sculpted it with their hands is pretty cool.

As if i don't have enough projects going on, here we go again. So this is an open cockpit build of the Capt's Graug with open cockpit. He did such a fantastic job with the interior this just needs to be built open. This is his pattern but this is the first cast out of the molds that I made after i purchased the pattern from him. This will be a long burn build, but got started on this hot and humid day (no good for casting), with some pre painting of the interior and figure. Will do some more drybrushing etc to bring out the awesome details. I don't know if anyone else has gotten started on these yet.... thanks mike

Hey guys, anyone interested PM me for info. thanks mike

Thanks, just about done with a test shot....the eye is tough to see because of a shadow but it's there.... mike

That backside is a bit tricky, right now i have kind of a "louvered" effect. It's another area that looks different in different pics. Painted you can see the louvered effect a bit better... thanks mike

1/12 is next up for this particular subject matter....not sure when. This was a good test run for that, there are a few things i will change in 1/12 thanks mike

Thanks guys.....I will be coming up with a price sometime this weekend, I need to do some figuring on how much this thing has cost me in rubber etc... As usual I'll do my best to keep the price down, I want to price it so people can have it if they want it. thanks mike

Thanks guys, left the chin guns off until the last minute, did not want to knock them off putting on the decals. Eye is clear green in the middle but hard to tell in these pics. I am calling this done for today, still want to do more drybrushing, touch ups, weathering etc but have a busy week coming up starting tomorrow, so it will stay like this for a bit. I will try to get a few better pics soon with a more professional background. thanks mike

Ready for some decals, hope to have this pretty much wrapped up this afternoon..... thanks mike

I'll start taking some orders after i finish this test shot. Little more work here, I finished up the first foot, painted it up and secured it to a working platform, secured from underneath with 2 countersunk screws. There is no detail on the bottom of the feet, I did not see any possible way that something this giant would be able to be securely displayed with any part of the feet up. Also note the main cannon barrel, it's cast with a 3/8 hollow brass tube in the center. This will need to be trimmed in the front only, the back part will pass thru the cannon support and into the main back cannon thingy. thanks mike

Back view to end my day...... thanks mike

I think it's the mid arm that's making the arms look a bit too long, they are not fully engaged in the socket for one in the pic, but they can be easily be modded to cradle into the forearm and shoulder with little effort. Part of it was leaving enough room for pose-ability. I made the claws on the feet and the hands a bit over sized on purpose, I wanted this thing to look like it could really tear into you if it wanted too. Again to shorten those would be a fairly easy mod.

Could not resist taking 20 minutes, cutting the pour sprues off and tacking it together, this is not cleaned up much but had to see it all together.....I personally like it, it looks aggressive, which is what i was hoping for.... thanks mike

First test shot casting right out of the molds, no trimming or anything. This is for the standard fighter, sans cannons. I think because if the size of the cannons I will offer a version with and without them, the version with the cannons being a few bucks more to cover the extra material. It will be at least a week or so before i can finish up the cannons so i may just build this one as the standard one and build a 2nd and 3rd one with the cannons later. thanks mike

Test build underway, sorry for the messy bench, soooo many projects underway. More soon. thanks mike

Thanks, there is a lot of this.... in what i am trying to get at with this one. I can say that I've got a real feel for the mech in getting it this far, there really does seem to be a few different ways that it is illustrated thru the different mediums, art, show, models etc. I am partially using this 1/32nd as a trial run in some ways, I really would like to get a chance to scratch a 1/12 one to go with the old ride armour kits........maybe someday. mike

Hey guys, don't want to clutter Capt's thread here so moved my stuff over to "other anime", just wanted to give everyone involved a heads up in this thread. http://www.macrosswo...showtopic=37307 Best of luck to Capt on the new stuff......your kits are legendary, hope you return one day... mike
