  1. i think it's a weird combo of some of my parts, modified, and some of the WFest kit from like 02 or 03. There appears to be nothing that is a straight recast but modified, maybe.
  2. Took longer than expected, but i finally got notice from Shapeways that the monster parts are on the way! Once they get here i can finish up the leg installment. mike
  3. Hope to see a couple of MWorld guys at Jerseyfest, it was a blast last year. For this class i will be doing some hands on scratchbuilding, either a 1/10 inbit or a 1/48 catseye plane, not sure which, but hoping either subject will be appealing to people here.... thanks mike
  4. I got the elint and super o, and a 1s strike that is almost done, so much of what i have is almost done, need to work on that continuing issue in my life. For the strike on mine i substituted in a set of wings from the 15th anniversary bandai kit, the resin wings were already warped, but with a full compliment of missiles i bet they would not have a chance, but the styrene wings should hold up nicely. Good thing is that they do not look out of place at all. mike
  5. Awesome, I actually love these Club M kits, IMO some of them are much more representative of the "anime" look that i am so fond of... mike
  6. Took a little bit more time than expected due to a delay at our usual 3D place, but the big wheel thing, the small foot wheel thingy, and a barrel insert detail for the big top cannons is all off for printing now. Once I get those in about a week and a half -2 weeks i should be ready to mold the leg installment. thanks mike
  7. So the "face" plate detail is done, I only need about an hour or two to finish up the base then off for molds. I tried to take some inspiration from the 1/48 super box art with the repeating pattern of the storm grate looking thing. I put in some round detail in each grate that is a perfect place to act as an LED holder. Also, on the top i have this area set for accepting some 1/2 inch clear acrylic hemi's, should work well as spot lights. hope to have the molds for all this wrapped up by the end of the week. Arm and base will be available as 2 separate kits, the base is big and I will keep it as cheap as possible but it's going to be hefty amount of mold material on my end, will see how it shakes out. thanks mike
  8. More details on the base, the "warning track" was made with masking in mind, used Tamiya 10 mm tape as a guide so when it comes time to paint, you can use it to mask the stripes. Hope to have this wrapped up this week, the actual launch arm is ready for molds, just need to finish the details on this base. thanks mike
  9. And with an afternoon of starting to detail the base. thanks mike
  10. Hey Guys, so i had a bit of a diminished capacity day, one kid home sick and I kind of drilled a hole in part of my hand yesterday, not bad but i kind of only had 1 1/2 hands today. So i figured i would get started on the base. Not detailed yet but fleshed out a bit, it's hollow for electronics and that front "face" under the valk is the perfect place for spotlights to light up the valk. More to come, pardon the mess in the photo, time to clean... thanks mike
  11. And it breaks down for shipping.... mike
  12. Thanks, few more, the weathering shows up better with lower light, and the models lights out.
  13. Few more for now, will take a few more when the light in the room changes. It's so big i can't fit it in my shop for pics, so i need to take it in my living room and it's high noon light right now. Weathering will show up better in less natural light. thanks mike
  14. Took longer than expected but it's done. More pics coming, playing around with the backdrop abit. thanks mike
  15. Still on, I had to finish up the 1/48 pod build first, which is finally done and will be posting pics later today. I don't have a lot to do on the arm and claw, but want to start the actual "base" part shortly. Again there will be the option to get just the claw and arm, or the whole thing including the base, depending on how much you want to spend. thanks mike
  16. Big wheel thingy. Big thanks to my buddy Mike Reis for working on this (and other fun stuff) for me.... thanks mike
  17. Yeah, i should have the final touches done this weekend. Still struggling to catch up after a horrible winter. thanks mike
  18. Hey guys, my 3d guy is supposed to be making the final adjustments to the big leg wheel thingy tonight, it's a little behind, so i am too, but hopefully soon. A couple of weeks delay is fine actually, it's no where near normal temps here, record cold in fact. It's really bumming me out. More to come. thanks mike
  19. Rambo 3, Rambo vs Russian guy, I mean he hangs him dead and blows him up at the same time.....
  20. That is a great looking monster, this is close to the stance that i have engineered for the new kit..... thanks mike
  21. Do you happen to have a pic of the recast on the site, not a link i guess that would be bad, but a pic? I know the one on ebay is like $550 and it appears to be a rework of that old WF kit from like 2001ish. thanks mike
  22. It's a part that I kitbashed from a 1/9 Kettenkrad on my first version, it's a tough part more because it looks like an all day project for just a single part. Luckily my buddy did not mind, because i guess in 3d he only had to make 1 "slice" then replicate it to fill in the whole wheel. As far as price, I am still trying to figure something out. It's just a huge kit. The kitspower semi recast one on ebay seems to go for like $550-$600 ish + overseas shipping. I'm thinking I need to be somewhere in the 3 installments of like $150 + shipping for each installment. To keep that in perspective it's only about $60 more than the Capt's 1/72nd glaug was when he release it, and this monster is probably 3 or 4x the amount of materials of that. So even at the 3 installments of $150, i would be happy just to cover costs. If this was one of the other type of kits i do it would easily be in the $600 range, and that would be for molding and casting, never mind the time put into the pattern. I'll see if i can do better than that on the price, I don't want to do all this work just to price it out of range for everyone, there's no point in that either. thanks mike
  23. So i just got some renders today for the "wheel" on the upper leg, the only part i am not doing myself, having my buddy who does 3d stuff get one grown for me. I have a couple things i need him to tweak, then off to the printer. Once that is done i will finish up the last bits on the legs and get molding... thanks mike
  24. Thanks, almost there. just a handful of odds and ends, then dial in the weathering a bit more. mike
  25. Thanks, hope to have this wrapped up in a day or two. Testing the sensor thingys and the eye. mike
