While I'm pleased that Weaving is Megatron, it is unfortunate that Welker didn't get it. I hope he is in the movie in some form. -

No one is sure what it is going to be about. Current theories include a Pegasus prequel, and the story of Starbuck during her disappearance. I'll just say that RDM pulled a big one on all of the fans. The name that was removed from the credits is part of that. It's going straight to TV. Like the miniseries. Then it'll be on DVD I assume. -

The show doesn't have that kind of budget... They could remake the set, but then they'd have little to no money for CGI and other special effects. They tore the set down because they couldn't keep paying storage fees or some such. I forget exactly what it was. -

Last time I heard, the movie will be out in September. They will be filming it this summer. Then the new season will start next January if I remember correctly. The problem with the movie being based around the Pegasus is that they destroyed the set. -

My cousin, who is a die-hard Republican and Christian, loves the show. Those who complain about the supposed left-sided bias just need to get over themselves and enjoy it for what it is - good television. -

I remember seeing that before... so sad. What is the story behind it? Is it in the US? I see the site is in the UK. Somewhere in Africa perhaps? -

I think the Pegasus rumor started at the SciFi boards and then moved to AICN. Unfortunately, ragnar anchorage was hacked the other day so I'm not sure if people are talking about it over there. -

Where did you hear about the "event"? People have been throwing around the Pegasus rumor for a long time. Did this come from something/someone official? -

Errr, no it isn't. It has nothing to do with the phalanx being simplistic - it has to do with how flexible the legions were in comparison. See Warmaker's post. The Romans proved it themselves when they took over Macedonia/Greece. -
Hmmm, if it is a VF-11 I will be very pleased. It's the only Plus VF that I want. I would, however, like to see an Enigma VF-1 before the 1/48s are done.

It was far from boring. I love history - I was just saying that I knew much of that already. -

That was Racetrack on the Raptor. Seelix was playing pyramid with Anders in the bar. They are both in flight training. -

No, I don't think they could. That was the phalanx's weakness - its inflexibility. That's why the Romans wiped the floor with them later on. I think Alexander encountered some elephants during his escapades... any of the super-history buffs know how the phalanx faired against them? I think that the longer pikes would be a benefit compared to the shorter variety used by the earlier Greeks. I should know the names of the spears considering I worked on Rome: Total Realism, but I guess my brain is fried. The sarissa is the long pike, right? -

Oh, the Iranians aren't pleased about the movie. Both the people AND the government. Personally, I think that they can go stuff it. It's a movie based on a comic book. Geesh. That being said, the battle DID happen, and the Greeks did end up kicking ass at Plataea. Sure, the Persians were very stylized in the movie - but did the movie really portray them in a way that wasn't somewhat accurate? I'm sure that the forces of both sides pillaged entire villages and mutilated some corpses. As for Xerxes not being a ten foot tall transvestite - alright fine. However, he was off his rocker (God-king bullcrap), and I'm sure there was all sorts of debauchery going on in his private tent. There probably weren't any goat people, though. -

Ah. Yeah he got a repro one that was real bronze. The reason it was so expensive is because it was handmade... I think. But who knows - maybe it was authentic? It had to go through customs, so I doubt it was an historical artifact. In that aspect, the movie was pretty accurate. The Spartans wore the Corinthian helmet at that time. As for buying a "real" Spartan helmet... when my cousin was on a cruise of the Mediterranean, his friend had to spend $3000 to get an authentic Corinthian helmet. EDIT: bbts just shipped my 300 prop replica helmet. I'll let you know if it is worth the $60.
