1. It does use a swingbar (or rod) in this case, but by opening the area between the nosecone and the landinggear they can keep it out of sight check out This link to see our own Graham wreck transform a 1/48 MacrossWorld's Main Page holds more than just the forums you know 304218 I have to say, after watching the video "Fighter to Battroid" I want a Yamato 1/48 all the more...the transformation is a LOT more complicated than I thought it'd be...and you've gotta love the background music *sings "ma-ku-ross...ma-ku-ross"* I have two questions: I need to find a place to buy one! HLJ.com seems to be sold out of the one I want, any other possible vendors? I want a GBP also. Do I need to worry about these things breaking? I don't want my friends visiting my place and when my back is turned they go "ooooh Jetfire!" and proceed to wreck my prized Valk.
2. I've already found a copy at Suncoast, which I believe is a nationwide chain (usually located in shopping malls). I went ahead and took a quick peak of the end of episode 11 to see if Minmay's first musical performance was altered at all (it's not! ). She sure does sound great in 5.1! 380519 Called Best Buy, got the same answer: the 28th. The nearest Suncoast to me is 90 miles away, so I'm not making that trip. There is nothing else near me that will carry it. Guess I'll wait or order it online. 380702 Here's my updated Vol. 2 search...Nothing so far...Neither Suncoast or the other mall stores I looked in had it. I'm thinking I'll just have to wait.
3. If it weren't for my finding the ADV dub, I wouldn't be here drooling over 1/48 Yamato Valkyries, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. I'm figuring I'll be spending $300 in the next 2 months on Yamato stuff (Hikaru VF-1S, Super/Fast Packs, and GBP Armor) and I blame it all on the ADV dub for reminding me how cool these things are.
4. I've already found a copy at Suncoast, which I believe is a nationwide chain (usually located in shopping malls). I went ahead and took a quick peak of the end of episode 11 to see if Minmay's first musical performance was altered at all (it's not! ). She sure does sound great in 5.1! 380519 I guess that's where I'll get it this weekend...so its true that there's only 5 episodes in the set? Maybe they'll release them faster then. Anyone know when Vol. 3 is gonna be out?
5. It wasn't in where I am either, and I checked Best Buy as well. This is strange because every site I've checked (Suncoast, Amazon, Best Buy) all have the 14th listed still. Very odd. 380385 I think Best Buy is screwed up, too bad they are the only one around me that carries it. I will call them tomorow, but I wonder if I'll get a straight answer, because their instore computer has the 28th listed, I saw it on the screen. 380387 I guess I wasn't the only one disappointed in Best Buy today...they told me the 28th too! Oh well...anyone know another store that might carry Vol. 2?
6. My first anime was Star Blazers/Space Battleship Yamato and from then on, it was downhill from there. That is, until I saw (not the whole series mind you) a couple episodes of Robotech. From the moment I saw my first glimpse of a transformable airplane, I knew it was a cool series and wanted to know more, and my friends had a lot more knowledge than I did about where Robotech came from. The Palladium RPG was where I first learned about Macross. I guess the only trouble was, there was just a book for me to read that discussed the series, since they stopped showing Robotech ages ago. Fast forward about 14 years, and I'm in the anime section at Best Buy, looking for an anime series and there is Super Dimension Fortress Macross, newly dubbed calling out for me to buy it. In the intervening years I had been exposed to many different anime series, hoping that someday I'd be able to watch SDF:Macross in its unedited form, not wanting to settle for Robotech's version. In that time I started watching Akira, Cowboy Bebop, Fullmetal Alchemist and my admitted guilty pleasure, InuYasha. I also enjoy Neon Genesis Evangelion...as a matter of fact, that's the DVD set I was looking for at Best Buy when I discovered SDF:Macross on the shelf. So I guess you could say I've been lead back into the fold (no pun intended) by a series some of y'all hate Now that I've seen the first six episodes...I want more! I read some of you guys don't like the dub, but since Fullmetal Alchemist is ending soon, its good that my buddy Edward Elric gets a new life as Hikaru Ichijo.
7. I've been lurking for quite a while now, so here goes my first post... I've been reading that some of the ADV Vol. 2 DVD's have been sold early at certain stores...and that its rumored there are only 5 episodes on it? It wouldn't make much sense, since there are 36 episodes in all. Can anyone shed some light on this?
