Thanks guys, just working on attaching the Gu-11 and going to decal all the missiles, then probably a coat of AquaGloss. -
Hey Gabe, thanks, that was a lot of fun. There was a lot I wanted to do with it but sadly I was too busy to keep it up. On the plus side, I'm getting more model building in now!

Here's the finished shading for the airframe and the "rising sun" logos painted on the vertical stabs! It turned out fairly well and I'm happy with them. Wave provides 2 different vernier options for the leg - I painted up both, but will choose the shallow version. -
Ok here's some test shots done in white styrene 0.02 thou. Not quite ready, but not bad for a first go. I will have to bump up the thickness so that the canopies can be trimmed easily and will mess around with getting the undercut on the pilot's position canopy. More to come! ~ Anth

Hey Klee, Everything seems to work - I've started to do some regular posting this past month (03/22) and things are smooth. -
I wonder if a Fan Racer is coming down the line!

Great reviews! I plan on doing my Moscato copy with wings folded on the deck! Working on vac form canopies for it.

I've run a few test pieces and I'm not quite happy with them. I'm going to up my vac form system. I have a "no crap leaves the shop" policy. Stay tuned!

Thanks you for your interest. I've got the Sundowners "rising sun" painted on the vertical stabs. I had a 1/48 scale decal set of Sundowners for the F5 Freedom fighter aggressor squadron - I scanned it at a 66% reduction and printed it out. I then rough cut it out and glued it down (gluestick) to the top of some 40mm Tamiya tape and then cut out the white sections (the negative). I painted the stabs red and then used the mask over the red, then painted on the white (Mr. Color 1). One of my specialities is cracking canopies. No build is complete without one stress fracture and this one has the rear section cracked. Will vac form another! -

Thanks for the nice comments! It was a huge build. The original kit comes with pieces to show the cockpit face open up and there was a Meltran bust to fit inside; it just goes to show the level of detail the Captain puts into his kits! It's a bit hard to see but I added lights to the sensor dome, eye and back thrusters - those pieces were included in clear red resin! I read somewhere that the Zentradi/Meltrandi mecha was built by slave-labour from conquered species so that and the face that they were a warrior race factored into my weathering concept. I have another awesome MHM project in progress, so stay tuned for that! -
awesome!

Here's a set of detailed pics of the Moscato Hobby Models 1/72 Queadluun Rau! It's a beautiful kit and I recommend everyone get at least one MHM kit for the experience. I'm really pleased how this build turned out. Although the pose was more of standing one, I envisioned it flying. Since it flies through deep space and within the atmosphere, I expected it to be fairly weathered and combat experienced. The model disconnects from the base via a 1/8" stereo jack for easy transpo/storage. 1` -
Ok! Marc from Neptune Survey has sent me the canopy bucks and they have arrived! I'll fire up the Vacformer on the weekend and get some copies going. Anyone need a set let me know, but be patient. Thanks again Marc! ~anth

Here' a Little update on the Lightning build. I've done some pre/post shading and it's coming along. You can see some of the weapons loadout that will be added to this bird. I also got some red down for the Sundowners markings and I've been working on making some of my own masks for painting it. More to follow ~ Anth -

Thanks! I finally figured out the perfect stand for flying posed subjects after forever having them dangling around. I'm now using a ball joint with some interlocking brass rod. -
