I plan to send you guys 3 sets each; if you'd like a trimmed set, I'll trim one up for you. I will keep the cost low, I'd like to cover off shipping and a few bucks for materials. How's $15 plus shipping sound (should keep it to around $20)? I'm waiting on the plastic order at the moment, stay tuned!

looks great! I think I'd be interested as well!
-
For those who need a set: would you want them pre-trimmed or would you want to be able to trim them yourself?

This has process has definitely proven challenging for me. I'm getting a bit closer! The first image is the rear cockpit. It's been dipped in future (which I don't often use) and it seemed to help with the clarity. The second pic shows an older test of the forward cockpit and you can see the spotty nature of those pulls. I have some quality plastic on order and I hope that it will yield nice clear pieces.

So the SDF-2 is MegaRoad-01, one being the class and one the ship of the line. I'm using the Megaroad-01 decal from the kit. The test of the codes I'm looking through my stash, maybe I'll be able to cobble it together. I have luck printing decal as, I may try that as well. -

I would like to use the NL, but in my mind I don't think it makes sense anymore. I think it has to be a made up one for "fleet defense" or something like that instead of a Homebase. I'm not %100 yet tho. And thank you Slide! -

Here's a few update shots (phone camera). I learned that there are 2 noted squadrons aboard the SDF-2; skull and iron chiefs, so that leaves room for a sundowner squad. Still working on the markings. -
that's pretty neat!
-
oh ya nice work! I regret not getting one of these at the time!
-
Excellent, thank you Seto. I'm doing an alternate, albeit in-universe squadron aboard SDF-2. So I think i've settled on Megaroad-01 on the tail, SVF-111 Sundowners Squadron.

k, I have a question that's a little specific - on the Kazutaki SDF-2 MegaRoad-01, there appears to be 2 ARMD Class carriers; would a VF-4 lightning carry the name of the ARMD or the of the ship on it's Vert. stab?

anybody have any idea as to tail markings for fictional squadrons aboard the Mega Road 2? I will use N for Pacific, not sure what the other letter would be. I have a serial number cooked up as well. -
Thanks John, I'm definitely not pleased yet with the clarity. I've been using Evergreen (too thin) and experimenting with packaging. I've got some lexan and petg on order. The last ones there have a trim lip on them. I'll try your suggestions on the weekend. Thank you for the input!

This is an amazing kit! Here's some pics with a size comparison with a 1/72 valk. It's a truly impressive kit and you're guaranteed to have fun with all the possibilities! Get one while you can! Note: the VF-1 is shot in the foreground, the Q-Rau is way bigger!

Getting closer to being able to send these out. The thickness is improved but this plastic has a funny sheen to it. I will see if it's buffable or not. Stay posted

Cool! Could it be done in 48th scale?
-
I think i hav an article on this kit, I'll dig for it!

Thanks guys, just working on attaching the Gu-11 and going to decal all the missiles, then probably a coat of AquaGloss. -
Hey Gabe, thanks, that was a lot of fun. There was a lot I wanted to do with it but sadly I was too busy to keep it up. On the plus side, I'm getting more model building in now!

Here's the finished shading for the airframe and the "rising sun" logos painted on the vertical stabs! It turned out fairly well and I'm happy with them. Wave provides 2 different vernier options for the leg - I painted up both, but will choose the shallow version. -
Ok here's some test shots done in white styrene 0.02 thou. Not quite ready, but not bad for a first go. I will have to bump up the thickness so that the canopies can be trimmed easily and will mess around with getting the undercut on the pilot's position canopy. More to come! ~ Anth
