  1. I’ve got the pilot and canopy ready to go. Will get new pics up soon!
  2. Hey guys, Take your time and have fun with it. Keep your expectations in check. Everyone’s first effort is not going to turn out as it is in your mind’s eye. There’s no substitute for experience and you will learn as you go along and get better and better results as you absorb new ideas and techniques little by little. Part of the fun is learning those new things. Lots of great pointers from the other members. Best of luck with it!
  3. I got a little more done. I did manage to drop it when I was setting up my new space - breaking a wing, 1 mirror and knocking off one 500lb bomb. Repaired most of it and got the pilot assembled.
  4. Quick update, had to put this on hold while I get some Reno’s down in my basement - my old shop space is totally gone and I’m setting up a temp space. Just a few little touches to wrap it up!
  5. awesome! I ordered up the OVA version. I'm looking forward to the trianing Lehrer, Samson and Asuka(?). lots of great offerings!
  6. Still have a lot of flat coating to do, panel line pin wash, pilot figure and then on to the fight deck.
  7. Here’s some more progress on attaching the ordnance.
  8. I saw that and thought of you Bolt!
  9. In the process of applying decals. This really enjoy this part of a build and it’s coming along well. Pics to come!
  10. Rinse and repeat! I’m satisfied with the clear green of the lense, I just meant that the rim outlining the clear part of the panel was all dinged up for some reason and I’m not going to rebuild since it won’t be seen in the final presentation. This lense was clear green over Molotow chrome and then filled up with clear gloss. Thanks for the advice, I will give that method a shot on the next one (already in progress!).
  11. The details are coming together. The gear is washed, wheels are painted and washed, and starting the decals. This particular head had some damage to the eye sensor but since it’s not visible I’m not too worried about it.
  12. The blue striping is underway. The MG article omits these stripes but they’re visible on the decal sheet profile so I’m going with it!
  13. Impressive work!
  14. Ooopsie. These wings came out of the parts bin - they had had the flaps cut out and I reattached them, blowing out those spine details. I didn’t notice till now, lol. Will fix later.
  15. Laid down some green, came out well, some gray touch ups req’d for a bit of over spray.
  16. Here’s the underlying yellow layer that will add some tonal variation to the green. The underside gray was done in the same way, just Mr. Color 92 built up with stencils over the black primer. This makes for a smooth paint finish with lots of variation.
  17. Some more progress, the gray underside is mostly done, I shortened the front gear for the low launch position.
  18. Got back to work on the Bushmaster VF. Lantirn pods, canopy has the final colour. I decided on the paints I’m using. I added a gray blue as per the ref photos that I couldn’t see on the decal profile.
  19. Ah Brett, I did finish the S and now I’m finishing the Type 89 and then back to the bushmaster!
