Looks like that poor head had to endure a little pain to get where it's at. *winces* But hey, if it's in the name of a recast then it was worth the sacrifice.

DYRL - I beat Prometheus mode and am now working my way through ARMD. Pretty cool! I guess you play as a member of skull squadron. I'm stuck on the level where Max has replaced Roy Focker as leader, and Kakizake, Max, Hikaru, (and me) fly out to fight Miria. (In the game they actually call her Miria, not Milia) She kicked my ass all over the place so this might take some time... But wow! This game is pretty awesome. The levels are basically along the line of "If you've played one you've played them all" but it's still fun. I swear these valks look like the game designers took a Yamato 1/48 toy and 3D scanned it directly into the game. It just sucks that I don't speak Japanese, because a few times I've been confused as to what the hell I was supposed to do on a level. Oh - does anybody know if someone has translated the cut scenes into english around here?

For reals... I'm getting scared now, because I REALLY wanna' get a Hikaru 1A while they're cheap on ebay right now... but I have to save for when the YF-19 comes out in 1/60 scale. And also when they release the VF0"A". And also if they come out with a re-release of Max with his fastpack! Good lord, and I could buy a Sony PS3. And knowing my sick new addiction, I'll probably opt for the Yamato toys instead.

I think it was cool when Milia busted out in her swimsuit. And when Basara got kissed by that freaky vampire woman. And when Basara got kissed by the freaky vampire woman masquerading as the freaky biker gang leader. I'm sure he'll get kissed more too, I just gotta' finish this series. And OF course, it's ALWAYS cool to see the old VF-1's show up in an episode. -
Those pictures are really cool! And I've love to do something like that, but unfortunately all my left over pieces are from completely different valks.

Thanks for the info haterist. Believe me, this doesn't sound as scary as having to box-cutter your way through the tabs on a strike cannon. Luckily I have this super-duper 100 thousand-in-one exacto-rama kit, so I could select the right tool for the job. I still got heart palpatations cutting that sucker, though.

Actually I was referring to that new Castlevania for PS2 (well it's about a year old) and Xbox. You can only be the main guy and then you unlock Trevor... or Simon Belmont? Anyway, those are the only two characters in the game. And it definitely took them some time to completely change the game (and I mean completely) to be Trevor, or Simon or whatever. THAT is a seriously wicked unlockable. And I've seen other cool ones. Letting you pick GBP armor on a few ground-based levels would have been cake. As for the taking 9 years, I was exaggerating to get my point across. And some games do in fact take years to produce. I still think they were lazy to give us no GBP or Qrau level fun. NOW. On a different note, I just got DRYL the import today in the mail. I played it a little bit so far... the graphics are nice. I wish I could speak Japanese, then my enjoyment would be triple what it is. So far it's pretty cool, but the dogfighting seems relatively boring. Of course, I've only made it to level 2 on the Prometheus (TV version I'm assuming) half of the game. I like it because it's Macross, but this is not the funnest game I've ever played by a longshot. At least it's better than that Gundam game I bought used for PS2. That game sucked so bad I can't really think of an analogy that quite fits. I hope Macross picks up a little bit. I'm sure it'll be more fun once I get fastpacked and get to change valks.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched c-beams ... glitter in the dark near Tanhauser Gate. All those ... moments will be lost ... in time, like tears ... in rain. Time ... to die. Graham 410092 (very nice reference to Blade Runner there)

gosh sorry it's taken so long to even read these. Thanks for the compliments. And no, I didn't use a rattle can on the MG1. Both of these customs were done with complete paint removal of the 1/48 parts, and then color matching the yamato "white" (grey). I've switched the pilot of the MG2 to the Hikaru pilot from the DRYL VF1S (not modified), instead of a handpainted hikaru 1J. but I'm keeping the 1J pilot for the MG1, it actually looks really cool overall. The clear heatshield really is a trip to look at when you're holding the toy. You don't really notice how see-through it is unless you look at it from the side and really close. And also --- just take your time and get advice from everyone you can when doing up your MG2 and it'll turn out great, probably definitely better than mine.
-
True --- but are there any enchantments strong enough to withstand a hostile-death-sun-fold? I think that one is a toughie.
-
Maybe that's the purpose of battroid mode? The jet can change into an anthropomorphic wizard fold-spell caster and use the finger digits to properly conduct the black magic necessary for hostile-fold technology. THAT's in the compendium. I'm sure of it. Jets can't cast spells, their hands are just not deft enough.

Hahahahah!

How many games have you developed, mister expert? One of the goals of the game was to make all 3 modes useful, as that usually ranks much higher on people's list of things they want to see in a Macross game than using the GBP does. And they largely succeeded. Generally you WILL change modes a few times during the level, unless it's a fighter-based stage. The GBP would break that, as it adds a great incentive to use battroid exclusively. FAST packs don't, though they're limited to space combat and the non-continuity VS mode(thank goodness they didn't adhere to any real structure for that). ... Actually, any decent Macross game will have limited use for the GBP outside of special stages. If a GBP can be successfully deployed most of the time, the game is failing seriously elsewhere. And a GBP stage didn't fit with the story for Battlecry(or most Macross stories, for that matter. It's sole deployment in SDF was essentially Hikaru being stupid.). I know for a fact that the development team DID include large Macross fans. They WERE trying to make a good game, they just approached it from a diffrent angle than a lot of people here wanted to see. And their approach DID leave it with some flaws, but on the whole it's a fun game. That's more than can be said for a lot of other licensed titles. 414065 You make it sound like I'm not giving them any credit whatsoever. Listen, if they can let you play a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT CHARACTER through the entire game after you beat Castlevania, and oh my gosh, yes they delete some of those cut scenes from the first run through, then I THINK THE BATTLECRY DEVELOPERS COULD HAVE LET PLAYERS USE THE GBP IN THE STAGES AFTER YOU BEAT THE GAME. I'm not a total idiot. The makers of battlecry didn't produce some incredible ground breaking game that took them 9 years to make. Comparative to the whole project in its entirety, it would have been a not-so-incredibly-hard task to allow for some fun with GBP later on. I've just played way too many great games with some really cool added extras/cheats to let this one slide so easily. I stand by my accusation. LAZY.

Or, slimy nasty tomato residue on everything it touched. This can include sog-ified bread. -
It's officially Friday (1:56am) and I've taken it out of the box. Wow! Gorgeous! It's even cooler than I thought it'd be! Definitely my favorite valk now. Aside from my MGs.
-
Darn!
-
Also, look back at the scene where Roy's old mentor breaks through the hull of the ship with is valk to steal that artifact piece. Can't do that with a fighter jet!
-
Actually... I think a valk, with it's ability to change modes so rapidly and hover in place at will, would still whoop any fighter plane built specifically to fight it. I may be wrong, but I'll stand by that.
-
Hell yeah Hikuro!!! Man... please let me (us/everyone) know when you're through!!!!
-
Then I think they're lazy. And they suck. You'd think they'd have wanted to exact the same kind of enjoyment out of the game that they've left us bereft of.

Pickes are disgusting. But easy to pick off. If they pump your burger full of mayo, you'll never be rid of it. No matter what, there'll always be crevasses full of the stuff... Especially if it's a cheseburger and the cheese is properly melted. 413991 I hate mayo on anything. And also, when the tomatoes are all mushy and nasty. -
I just got my low viz stealth with strike armor in the mail today. Geez, what a monstrous box. I mean, damn. And what a badazz valk! Too bad I had to drive straight to the university after it got delivered... and then I have to write two papers when I get home. Crap! I won't even be able to take the thing out of the box until Friday. What's weird, is I had a dream last night of getting my stealth valk in the mail. Only, the box was a lot smaller.

I also forgot to add, about the whole Roy-pickle thing. Somebody's got to stand up and say "How the heck can you not like pickles?! A hamburger without pickles is like Macross without an SDF-1!" Pickles are good. Please don't lump them in with Macross 7. BUT- Macross 7 did have its good parts. I can't exactly remember when they happened, but a few times I was "glued" to the set instead of looking up at the clock waiting for the episode to get over with. Unfortunately... I still haven't finished the series... and I still feel like I'm sitting through traffic school when I watch it. I'd rather eat pickles. -
I've already massacred myself twice with exacto knives. After two hospital visits and about twenty stiches, I'm pretty darned careful. But I still wince everytime I have to use one now... especially when I had to modify the strike armor for my MG2. Talk about an anxiety attack.

Hence, it's better to watch the Japanese version of Ghost in the Shell Innocence, instead of the USA version, and I'm just talking about subtitles here. I'm sure somebody knows what I'm talking about.
