I even advise seeing the original Robotech series just so you can get the US angle on it all. Plus it's in english. Even better - get the new english dub versions of SDF Macross. 3 years into this argument, and I have yet to see one clear argument that puts macross 7 in the "kiddie" category. Like shooting the camera at Mylenes panties. 'Course, other than that... it's a bit pre-pubescent at times. Sometimes it's just outright hilarious, and this is uninentional. Disclaimer: To all ye citizens of Macross world, note that I do own three toy valks from this series. They are cheap plastic, and I believe imitations of the Bandai toys. I bought them before watching the series and have given them to my boy. I also own the series Macross 7. I have yet to finish it. But I did spend money acquiring it. Thus, don't classify me as a 100% Mac 7 hater. (75%)

I didn't know you could jettison the GBP. ? I agree with the notion that it would have been nice to have the valk select between stages. Then they could have limited which stages you could use the GBP, yet still let you choose it at least a little bit. They did this with the strike and fast pack on DYRL. BuuuuuuuUT, DYRL doesn't have the GBP option either - but it's okay because there is a mission where you get to wear it already incorporated into the game. DYRL over all though falls short in the aspect that almost every single solitary mission is either in outter space, or far far away from the ground. I liked the ground based missions in robotech. The valks zip around the environments nicely. I myself, look forward to a macross for PS3. That'll be the day I splurge to buy one of those. (Or if they make Berserk...)

I have to ask --- is it not so frowned upon in Japanese culture to date/marry/screw your relatives? I mean. Kaifun and Minmay are sorta'... well you know. And lately I've seen a few animes that have brothers and sisters acting a little too friendly.

I will check into all of these. I bought some liquid stuff the other day and tried it out... worked okay. But if you don't get it think enough it bleeds paint. - THICK, I meant thick.

Okay does anyone out there know any cheat codes to unlock all the cool stuff in this game? I unlocked the VF-4, I don't know how, but wow, what a freaking cool extra. I want to know what other extra VFs are on this game. Oh, and I beat the game on both modes.

I take apart 1/48's but I don't have the guts to learn how to work on my car. Or the time... nor do I really care... even though it'd benefit my life more to know how to work on my car rather than customize toys... oh well, my imagination and lust for creative things gets in the way of reality.

I have blue masking tape, for smooth surfaces. It works great, but sometimes, it is just a pain in the azz to have to chop it down and into tiny enough pieces to cover some spots. Is there something else out there I can use instead of having to use tape? If there's something reliable and form-fitting (and versatile) can someone please let me know? Thank you! GBA made a robotech game? Hm. Okay I'm still stuck on the Miila stage. I beat her --- but the part after her is even HARDER freaking A. But the more I play this game, I really really like it. I'd say my two favorite PS2 games are both imports, and they are -- *drum roll* Berserk, and, Macross. (not because they're the best games ever made - but because they're based on my two favorite anime/manga) To everyone out there with no flip top, get one! JB0, you gotta' play Macross on PS2! It's great! Since I own battecry and macross DRYL both now, I'm going to make a quick pointer-outter. Robotech is more for fun, and it's designed to be robotech-ish (less serious). Macross focuses a lot more on creating the valk-simulation experience. Aside from completely different gerwalk modes, the games are a tadbit similar. And I like battlecry's graphics. Cartoonish is cool. But I also gotta' say it's cool how DYRL's valks look exactly like the 1/48 yams.

And 20 years down the road, my 1/48's are STILL gonna' be just as cool as they are now.

To me, Basara is just Kyfune (Kyle in Robotech) in a big valk that's fitted with a big speaker system, colored red, and carrying a gun so it can still try and look cool despite the fact that it's still a blight on the face of all valkyrie-kind. I guess that's what gets me. I hated Minmay's cousin. And Basara is like having the hated cousin somehow turned lead-character of a series.

Heh heh. Macrossworld has spoken! I am in awe of the greatness of the members. Yes, playstation 3 shall wait, along with their awful blood price of 600 dollars. *cough* I'm gonna' be um... well I'll be spending money on valks at 150+ a valk until PS3's cheaper. Now I don't feel so bad about it anymore. Or alone! Plus, all the cool games for PS3 probably won't really start coming out until a couple years anyway.

As for why they don't just lift off in Gerwalk, I'm sticking with the air traffic nightmare notion. And also maybe all the intense heat from all those thrusters would mess up the runway.

If I lived on Macross 7 and Basara came up to me and started singing for no reason I'd try to kill him. I think he's a schizO'. And he really doesn't care what happens to anybody around him in my opinion. He seems to just be out to prove that his lame ass songs can make him as important as Minmay. The only firebomber song I like is the one where the purple haired girl sings. One of them anyway.
