I'm telling ya', they grow on you like melanomas on old people. I can't wait to get my new checking card in the mail so I can finally pre-order a set of Hikaru/Max/Miria 1Js. My other checking card got lost unfortunately, which has nixed my online shopping for the past week. Note: I've got 4 1/100's sitting on stands. One is in fighter mode at a right angle with four heavy missile attachments on the wings. No broken stands. They've been changing poses for days. I have to wonder if the people with the stand problems attached the toys securely?

It's the PS2 game. Neat graphics. No idea what's going on.

that vf1j was in macross plus?

I just got this game in the mail. And I have absolutely no clue at all whatsoever as to what is happening in this game. I don't understand what the menus say. I'm lost. I don't even know what other animes these robots come from. Can someone please help me out here? Please? And can you tell me also what the commands are in the menus in the game? (during the battles) <--edited

No it's not. It's the COBRA USS Flagg. (jk) -
Nope, not allowed to yet, but I can try telephathically beaming them to your head! ................................there...........................................did it work? Graham 425255 No no no, I was talking about posting more pictures of the painted up model kits to satiate my lust for the YF19. Y'know, something visual to give me an idea of what the 1/60 might look like. But thanks for beaming the pictures of the actual 1/60 into my head. Nothing like the real thing!

My fave pose with my Hikaru is with the strike cannon lowered, gunpod raised, and head lasers pointed forward. - basically as close to the end of DYRL as you can get when Bedolza gets waxed.
-
Kurt, you should take pictures of your personal collection and post'em so we can see what real perfection is like. And so we can be jealous.

It will be a while until we get new pics. So can somebody post some more battroid or gerwalk pics of some of the hasegawa models? That blue and white yf19 looks amazing, and those D-stance YF21 pictures from earlier just about blew my mind. I really hope Yamato is going to produce something as cool. I can't say I was disappointed with the VF0s in comparison to the hasegawas. The vf0s looks amazing. So I guess my point is, can someone post more pretty pictures?
-
I will always love, that 1J.

Here's Max and Hikaru, in battroid. I was in a hurry so no fighter or gerwalk pics yet. Sorry the picture quality sucks! But, c'est la vie. Edit: yes, fast packs would have made this an incredible deal.

Geez this thread gets a lot of posts. My opinion, is that Kawamori should be the one to dictate what is right and wrong with this thing. Eugimon has a point from about 90 posts back... people do tend to complain a lot and to us people who aren't plane-physics experts it's all meaningless drabble. My opinion goes as far as: Dyson kicks azz because *my* last name is Dyson too, and his valk rocks. Because he pilots it. And his name's Dyson. So, y'know. There ya' go. Pretty deep, eh?

Ryuji.... are you gonna' paint one for us to look at here???

LOL where do u find those things? i dun have much in the way of character figures (though i've the Yamato set of Milia 639 figures on the way) and be wanten 423548 Look for them on ebay! You can also get Lisa, and Rick, and (my wife REALLY hated this one) Dana Sterling. My wife hates Dana even more than Minmay so I had to get her one as well. (The Masters was so boring)

I think it's weird when I hear about this. I've had my 1/100 for like a week, it's been displayed in various modes and poses, and it's never fallen off. Once again, use some gorilla glue, and then file/dremel off the excess dried glue. 424799 Once the Gorilla Glue drys would it be flexiable?? since the borken part is a flexiable piece. 425073 Since gorilla glue is itself somewhat flexible, yeah, I think the piece would still be flexible. I'm not going to surmise that this is an infallible method for repairing the piece, but if mine ever broke I'd try this method and post the results. But in all honesty, I don't think any of mine will ever break.

*screams at haterist* Because it's just a 1/100 scale toy! This is not an attempt at creating a real-life valkyrie only smaller. (jk about the screaming part) Also - today I got my two 1/100 VF1A's, and they look REALLY cool. The 1S head sculpt leaves a bit to be desired but I have not even a single complaint about the 1A; nothing but praise. And seeing that panel-lined picture makes me want to panel line mine. Who can seriously look at that and not think this toy is cool? PS: I now have four of these valks sitting on their stands. No fall-overs, no fall-offs, and no breaks. *cough* and no complaints. EDIT: Hey, does anybody have pics of what the VF1J head sculpt is going to look like on these?

WELCOME! May your collection grow as big as your wallet shrinks. I actually like that crappy SDF-1. I'll buy it for 3 bucks! -
Those 'r fight'n words. Show us some pics to back it up. 425088 That's a toughie. Our digital camera can make even the most beautiful work of art into a disappointing mess.

I love you, Yamato.

I've seen people on here say they don't want a 1/100 because they'd rather have a 1/48. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'd say that's what brought Yamato into the fray. And like Jenius said: Comparing the 1/100 with [any] Yamato Macross toys isn't a level playing field. My point I'd like people to consider is that nothing is perfect, especially in comparative price ranges. The 1/100 and [anything Yamato] are completely different things. Starving kids in Africa don't pass on a bowl of rice because they'd rather have filet mignon. And on that note, sometimes I'm just more in the mood for a bowl of rice. RARELY, though.

*hahahahah* Good try. Better than I could do. But I really hope it ends up looking better than that. Maybe they really should think about making those wings bigger...
-
Panel lining tip: use a very very thin pencil. Or, use an ink wash. I ink-washed my vf0S and it turned out looking awesome; especially the boosters in the feet.

Dante?! 424771 eh? 424780 *laughing* Addition: These little toys are supposed to look toy-ish/cartoony. Maybe I'm wrong but I don't believe this is Toynami's equivalent of trying to compete with the 1/48 in terms of all around perfection. It's impossible to make a 1/100 scale toy as perfect as a 1/48 scale toy. As for QC issues, I'll tell you I'm WAY more pissed that my Roy Focker's right arm won't stay bent on my 1/48, especially since it cost me like 150 bucks. I'm also pissed that some of my missile attachments won't even go onto the wings no matter how hard you press them. (This happens on various 1/48 scale valks that I have) I'm pissed that on my GBP armor the missiles don't pop out right anymore on the right side of the chest; that broke the second time I opened it. I don't like how the nose cone won't stay on Roy. I'm pissed that every single Yamato valk I own came with piece-of-crap stickers when they cost so much. My MPCs came with better stickers. I've had more Yamato QC issues than what I'm listing here; I'm just trying to make a point. Even the best Macross toys come with defects. Having two people's (out of how many?) little stands crack isn't proof that Toynami is and will always remain the worst toy company ever made. Can we get a banpresto review in the house?

I don't want any pre-panel lined toys. Takes all the fun out of doing it yourself.
