It was experiment that didn't well results. After they created 3D nozzles that were selected for Su-35 and Pak-fa. The Pak-fa radar an IR firm aren't unknown ready yet.

Retracting Head Ter Ter, was very very difficult but here they are. The experimental SU-27 LL-PS. First flight 1989.

The russian testing of rectangle engine result in less IR firm but more weight and less maniobrability. The F-35 also has circular engine.
