Your Hikaru figure has the 1st (blue jumpsuit) head. How'd you pull that off (literally) ? I can tell as his neck isn't too long like the stock head. Looks awesome. I recently got this figure as well and it looks awesome on display with my Takara Yellow Submarine Minmay doll. I'll post some pics when I get my digi cam back. -
How's about this? I don't think the Bandai DX toy looks 100% flawlessly accurate to the show. I am glad. I prefer it. The model on the series looks far too lanky and girly compared to the DX toy which is beefier and tougher looking. I do not wish the toy looked more like the one seen on T.V. Rather I wish the one on T.V looked more like the toy. As far as Yamato goes. I love their toys. Some of my all-time favorites are from Yamato (Koenig Monster/1/48 Strike/Q-Rau) but I welcome a real new Bandai Valk that I can play with without picking at small parts with my fingernail and holding my breath in panic everytime I handle the thing. $.02

I second that!

Here's a fun thought. Waaay back in the 80's Takas were as cheap as $30. Not saying I personally remember but there are ads on this site from that era to prove it. At the peak of their secondary market value they reached as high as $700 for certain ones. Bandai DYRLs were similarly priced and Ostrich's and Elints were valued over $1,000 at one point. Price for admission on a 1/48 is already over $100 today. Imagine 15 years from now... Will they be running on EBayX for $2,500? As Nick from Falling Down would say "Think about it..."

Wow, not a fan of the Fire Valk in general but that is a pretty cool piece! Love to see the full item!

Where is that large Fire Valkyrie head from?

Rumor: Escape From Earth A 'go?'

Ah the Pork Chop Express. That was one of my faves! Aside from this sequel that so deserves to be made. A sequel to The Thing (one of the scariest movies of all time) so NEEDS to be made. -

Agent One For Co-admin?

They were jokes. I never said anything negative about A1. The negativity was directed toward those with A1 tattooed on their posteriors. He owns them. They are his girls. They clog the thread with their lame wussiness. They worship A1 to compensate for the high levels of Estrogen that course through their bodies. The GIF was funny. A1 even found it funny. Now can the A1 worshippers admit that it was funny too, since he did. He's demonstrated that he has a sense of humor. That was intended to be humorous. He didn't get offended by it as he obviously has a sense of humor. His girls however did seem to get offended. Interesting... I'm the subject of a blog. I feel famous. I laughed VERY hard. I also have a sense of humor. Now I truly feel like I have won the internet. I'd be happy to post a pic of my body if anyone wants to worship me. I'm actually pretty manly... I promise to try and act more manly on the internet. What A1 posts is usually funny. The few that suckle on his teet afterwards... Well, lets just say I'd be questioning their manlyness. Not mine... If you guys are going to worship such a macho man, I suggest you toughen up yourselves. Go curl a Twinkie or something... -

I didn't mean any offense with that GIF. Just having a little fun. There is only one major problem I see with A1 being admin in any way. Any time the man posts in a thread, most of the remainder of said thread gets filled with people kissing his a$$ and posting about, not Macross but him... I see a post by him with protruding pecks and bulging biceps as an avatar, writing very "manly" things. Then multiple male posters getting right behind him and smooching him where God split him. Post after post about his "awesomeness". Isn't that pretty much what started this thread to begin with? It's very, weird... Creepy even. I find myself avoiding any thread that he has posted in for that reason. I just don't care to read about how awesome others think he is. How would it be if he were made admin? I do however really think he should start his own webpage. www.A1world.com. He can create threads like "List the 10 most awesome things about me" or "Name the top 5 places you would like A1 to impale you with the sword of Crom". If he builds it, they will come... -

1/48 Hikaru Vf-1s Reproduce On 2006 Jan
SuperDimensionalDave replied to Hayao Kakizaki's topic in Toys
I told you so! Not a question of if, but when... It's Economics baby!!! -
Yeah the max vf-1a and hik vf-1s were so so sellers, thus no reissue. 337151[/snapback] Yet... Neither the Max 1A nor Hikaru VF-1S are so-so sellers now. They are selling more actively and for more money than the Roy 1S. Had they not re-issued Roy 3 or 4 times I MIGHT be doubtful. They have and I'm not.

Please... Every and any Valkyrie (or any other toy produced by Yamato) that begins to get sold post production run for over twice the original retail price (which was already a price that offered a profit to Yamato) WILL be re-issued. Not if, but when... If a Hikaru Strike is actively selling for upwards of $300 why would they not re-issue it? They could hypothetically even raise the MSRP over the original run's price and STILL sell it briskly. Because whatever price they ask will beat $300+ on EBay. And certainly beat not owning one at all. It's happened every time. I mised out on a Max 1A and Fokker 1S and both began to get close to the $250 mark for a time there. Did I pay $250? Hells no! I says to meself "Hmm.. Yamato is an intelligent company driven by profit. They'll see this and re-issue them". A few months later I was able to buy multiples of both for under $125.00. I happen to own a few Hikaru 1S' as that was one Valk I wasn't going to miss out on. If I needed one now, I'd most definitely wait for the re-issue. I'm sure Yamato wants us to spend our money on their new releases, but I'm also sure that if they see ppl shelling out $300+ for their previous releases they realize they are leaving money on the table by not providing the consumer with the product that they are obviously determined to own whether it is re-issued or not. It's basic economics. Supply and Demand. No supply equals greater demand. Demand drives price. Yamato starves us on a desireable item, demand goes up, prices goes up. Item is re-supplied and sells like hot cakes. Profit ensues. It's a conspiracy folks.
