Roy Focker, Thanks for the slap in the face and yes I am jumping up and down. I asked a very simple question politely under the FAQ & Feedback Forum. You skirted around the question and translated my question into some sort of revolutionary call. I was expressing my disappointment that the thread was closed but at no point did I hold any grudge about the Mod for doing so. Your reply was rude and assumptious, making my question seemed a lot more political and complicated than what it really was. I don’t know where you draw the line regarding “dumbnessâ€, “worthiness†and “how a big boy should behaveâ€. You have people on this MW board spending $500 plus on a plastic toy and I don’t tell them to grow up. Many people join Internet forum to have a bit of harmless fun. You’ll be a moron if you think those who posted actually meant what they said in that thread. We all knew the topic was “dumb†and “retarded†but is it doing anyone harm to anyone? If the actual topic has stepped over the MW line, lock it by all means. I didn’t know “dumbness†was part of MW’s quality control guideline. I know this post will get me into trouble (and likely to get deleted/edited/lock, you choose it), but like Jemstone says, I don’t care anymore if this is where MW is heading.

Does Mods give warning any more when they lock threads? Just a little disappointed with the locking of the Ideal Anime Chick chat. The threads' been running quite well with little offensive comments (to my surprise given the nature of the topic). With 3000 views from just 120 posts, many people obviously enjoyed the light hearted discussion. Most posts stayed on topic (until the last four). I was just about to send a post hoping to steer the threads back to less intellectual discussion and I realised it was lock. Seems a bit harsh to just lock it altogether with no warning. Bum.

I hope Miyazaki (or the Ghibli Board??) is wise enough not to play favourite. I knew he had a son looking after the Museum but very little is known about his ability or involvement with any Ghibli films in the past . Also, Miyazaki has a tendency to cut in when he senses the production is less then his expectation. Didn’t Howl’s Moving Castle’s first director got fired and he had to wear the “director" title till the end of the production? Anyhow, just glad the old bugger is still making films . This time I’ll try not to read too much about pre-production, learnt my lesson with Howl’s Moving Castle.

I think many of the sellers have realised Yamato will be/have been re-releasing many 1/48 in the coming months. Bidding is the last chance they have to off load their stock for a good price (I assume there are still many do not know about the VF-1A Hikki re-release). My guess.

This is another example of the madness of the DVD industry (or any other software/media licensing bureaucracy out there). If there is one thing I learnt about the media technology, it would be: "trust your dirt cheap no-thrill Korean makers over those jackass big name companies whom's only interest is to monopolise the industry". Similarly, many years ago, as naive as I was, I seriously wanted to buy authentic licensed softwares but what I ended up was paying sh%t load of money for products that have so much restriction that I actually had to resolve to illegal means or foreign makers. DVD players, game consoles, cad programs, operating system, media softwares...the list just goes on. When will those corporate eggheads learnt??
