  1. He...he...I was just trying to give the SDF-1 some help (I am a short fellow myself, I know how it feels to be over towered...), damn, you picked it up...
  2. I spotted this box art for the TV Version due for next March. From the pictures (though a little small), I can't see the clothed joint, may be they decided to take it out?? [attachmentid=41121]
  3. PM you soon. Thanks for asking. May be my getter will have to wait....
  4. I say competition is a good thing for consumer. Let Yamato take care of the perfact change Macross while other die-cast specialists like Bandai, CM, Aoshima, etc., give us kick-ass sculpted metal Valks with weight and shinny paint!!!!
  5. Mine arrived today as well . Since I anticipated it to be small, I think I took the hit well, I now call it cute (expensively cute... ). I spent a day with it and I can’t keep my eyes off it, it is a beautiful thing. The details are certainly making up for its lack of size. I now think of it as a Soul of Chogokin, instead of a Yamato Macross – that makes me forget the size issue. Wave’s paint job is also exquisite. Hurin is right, camera does not do its justice. You wonder why Yamato does not use better paint to gives their Macross toys that extra lift . My complaint would be the lack of diecast where there should be. Diecast should have been used for the spikes, the hip/leg junction, the skinny arms and elbow. This toy feels very fragile during transformation, I doubt I want to tempt fate too many times. Overall, as a display toy, I love it . A cheaper price tag will make me happier but since there are little SDF-1 choices out there, what else can I do?? For those interested in comparison shots, here are some pics: [attachmentid=41117][attachmentid=41118]
  6. Just remember, the GoodSmile version is a diecast of the original Tachi, if you want a diecast for the Second Gig Tachi, Fweture is the only option at the moment. Who knows, Goodsmil might do a Second Gig Tachi Diecast if the original Tachi does well.
  7. Ok, here is my limited knowledge and summary of the various new Tachikoma I'd gathered from various site : Original Tachikoma 1. Megahouse’s 1/20 “Perfect Piece†…………..(Feb 2007/ 9,800yen/ 13cm): ABS, fixed posed Motoko, movable. 2. GoodSmile Company’s 1/20……………………..(May 2007/ 17,800yen/ 15cm): Diecast, posable Motoko, movable. 3. Fewture’s Non scale “Soft Vinyl versionâ€â€¦ (Dec 2006/ 6,470 yen/ 20cm): Soft Vinyl, no Motoko, limited movement but has ball joints at limbs, (Dec 2006 Blue Version, Summer 2007 Yellow Version) 4. Waves’ 1/24 “WHAM†line …………………………(Mar 2007/ 3,200 yen/ 9.5cm): completed and painted ABS kit with a number of colour schemes and GITS characters (March normal blue with Motoko; April dark blue with Batou, May yellow with Togusa, and June silver with Aramaki), 9.5cm in height. Second Gig Tachikoma 5. Fewture’s Non-Scale “EX Gokin versionâ€â€¦..(Sum 2007/14,800Yen/15cm): Diecast, Motoko TBC, has light, movable 6. Waves’ 1/24 Tachikoma Kits……………………..(Mar 2007 2,200 – 3,200yen): these are non-assembled injection kit with various colour (e.g. normal blue with Motoko, optical camo clear with clear otoko, Uchikoma with Batou) For diecast fan, I think the best combination would be: For Original Tachi (get GoodSmile Company’s 1/20 diecsat), For Seconf Gig Tachi (get Fewture’s Non-Scale “EX Gokin version). They are both die-cast and very posable. If you are a Tachi Team fan and like your Tachi big, get Fewture’s Non scale “Soft Vinyl version†with hope that they will have the other 2 colour released to complete the Tachi team as seen in the final battle in the original series. If you are a Tachi Team fan but has limited budget, get Waves’ 1/24 “WHAM†line which will gives all TV versions of Tachi as seen in the final battle in the original series. Wow, tough choice!!!! 1. Megahouse’s 1/20 “Perfect Piece†ABS [attachmentid=41077][attachmentid=41078] 2. GoodSmile Company’s 1/20 Diecast [attachmentid=41079][attachmentid=41080] 3. Fewture’s Non scale “Soft Vinyl version†[attachmentid=41081][attachmentid=41082][attachmentid=41083] 4. Waves’ 1/24 “WHAM†line ABS [attachmentid=41084][attachmentid=41085] 5. Fewture’s Non-Scale “EX Gokin version†Diecast [attachmentid=41086][attachmentid=41087] 6. 8. You are playing with my head, act of tourture....
  9. If I have to pick the best Eva Team Work sequence, it would be the 3 Evas vs that "Dripping Eye Spider Angel". It was fantastic, great action within a confine space.
  10. The Jaw itself is not the problem. It drops when you turn the head too extreme (to left or right) and it runs into the the yellow neck muscle, forcing the jaw to drop. A minor design flaw but acceptable.
  11. Arggggg....curse the toys collectors living in Asia, I am so jealous and you guys’ reviews are just too tempting, slowly pushing me over the line…must resist…must ....get.... EX Getter 1st…
  12. My 1st pick of Eva 01 fight would be with Satchiel too. But I hate how the TV Series broke up the fight in 2 episodes. The Movie cut was awsome. But of all Eva fights, Eva 02 vs 9xEva05 wins by mile - no contest
  13. What I want to warn people about is that they should be careful not to pay $200 for a fake one. I agreed, the quality of the fake one is pretty good. I still couldn't find that thread, will try harder.
  14. SDF-1 is not so small after all. Nice comparision pics, thanks.
  15. mac666er, that is F amazing.
  16. Ah!!!!!!!!!!! This can't happen !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. Light up a little, it was snap-stick,... Maybe I should have add the emotion thingie like this: I really want to see more screen time of the Evas kicking butt, like Auska's Unit 2 did in the movie . As much as I love EoE, the biggest disappointment about the movie was that we never saw Eva 01 in real action . No fun....
  18. No remake for me too. DYRL was close to perfect and was wrapped up nicely with the Flashback. If they are not careful, a new Macross remake could ruin my memory of the old Macross. But then again, I like Shin Getter as much as the orginal Getter. Let's just hope they will get the right people for the right job. I actually don't mind SK not involving with this one, his other anime hasn't impressed me too much since Macross, just wondering if he is a bit dry of original ideas and designs....
  19. Um...you like to interpret other’s comments in its most negative fashion, sad…
  20. What is the story with Yamato's obsession of using green? Remember the early proto-type of the Woodland Armor? It had that hideous green on the shoulder pack, fortunately, it was taken out with the final version. They are now trying to sneak the green in again. Why does an urban low vis scheme need green when city has little trees?? Does Yamato has an excess of green ABS that they have to use it up?
  21. I guess it is no Macross if it has no voice weapon.
  22. You need to go way back on this thread, just before the "head and knee" incident.
  23. Do you want to see the cannon in action?
  24. Heh...heh...Yamato riding Yamato.... Imagine the 1/48 riding a SDF-1 of this size (with lighted up engine at the back)... [attachmentid=40994]
  25. He..he...I dig this up. Don't say they didn't warn you... [attachmentid=40993]
