Hey, holytoledo69, you know there is the Berserk Version of the Eva Spec? Otherwise, make sure you don't pay more than $45 for the normal Eva Spec. I suspect the normal Eva Spec price will take a tumble due to the release of the Berserk version.

Thanks for the link, rikiryou. [attachmentid=41596] That is freaking big, screw the Waves SDf-1 & CM Patlabour, this is what I am talkin' about when I say I want a big diecast My only question is how does Bandai decide the size of their GX line? It seems there is no consistency at all with the height of their GX line toy. I am not complaining about the size of this Ideon, but why does he gets the jumbo treament when poor getter remains a midget...Man, I wish Bandai can come up with a nice big Shin Getter 1 like this one: [attachmentid=41597]

In up standing mode with the cannon pointing upwards, do people find their cannons don't quite locked in perfect alignment? That is, one cannon is slightly forward than the other. Not a big deal, but I find it a little annoying.

What about this colour for Eva-01? Oh, by the way, it cost 1.1 million yen and need a 2m tall display shelve?? Eeeek [attachmentid=41579] Source: Tokyo International Anime Fair 2007 (HLJ)

Those early glamour pictures certainly lies about its size.... But I think I can live with that size, given the many positve feed backs regarding the toy itself. To compensate for its lack of height, I heard it is a hefty figure in terms of weight. That might go well with the SDF-1.

I am stealing this topic idea from Robot-Japan's xiombarg . I thought that was pretty cool and it can apply to all the Macross series. Nominate your chess set with what ever theme you could think of: Macross + ?? Macross Bad Guy ?? Other Robot Series?? Toy Company Vs Toy Company, etc. My Macross Good Guy: King - SDF-1 (Movie) Queen - SDF-1 (TV) Knight - VF-1J Super (Max & Miria) Bishop - VF-1S GBP (Hiki & Roy) Rook - VB-6 Gerwalk Mode Pawn - Destroids My Macross Character Good Guy: King - Hiki Queen - Minmay / Misa swapable Knight - Max & Miria Bishop - Roy (drunk & non drunk) Rook - Capatin Global Pawn - Kakizaki

Thanks for tips . But damn, why can't they put the bazooka within the same box. I don't think I'll folk out more money just for the bazooka. Actually, I kind of like this missile version better, the details and colour of the missels looks great on the figure. Yes, I agree, Yamato should make some big scale diecast destroid to go with the Valks. It is easy and cheaper to make, why wouldn't they do it? SOC destroid would be nice too.

You really should check out that "VF-0S problem thread" and open the shoulder to see if you have any cracks. Prevention will save you a lot of hassel. I agreed, the VF-0S is a beautiful display toy, just leave it on the shelf and don't touch it...

Eeeek!!!! Sorry to see that, man!!! UNSPACY, the upshot of that is now you have a perfect excuse to buy the special edition... I have been worried about the plastic ball joints since day one. To make the problem worst, the Spec Eva ball joints are really hard to read because they are black and hidden behind the armour. That sucks because the great thing about the Eva Spec is its posability, and it seems the Spec Eva is not designed for rough handling. From now on, I think I'll be very weary of the Spec line, it seems like this line of SOC is being handled by a different Bandai team than the GX line. While on th topic of robust SOC, I picked up this Yamato Giant Robot Action Figure at my local toy store today. It was on sale for $60 AUD (approx $45 USD). Originally, I was fooled by its paint colour and thought it was Yamato's usual plastic figure (like the Rau). When I opened the box and pull it out, I had a giant surprise. It was heavy. I'd say it had at least 70% diecast. Not only its joints made those clinking sound, it has great posability, too. The igure itself feel very solid and is nicely sculpted. It is also big - bigger than most of the common SOC (e.g. Mazinger, Getter, even the Eva Spec). If you guys like your super robot and like diecast, I highly recommend this fellow. Does anyone know if Yamato do other super robot action figure? Judging from this figure, I think they are pretty good at non-transforming action figure, too - in terms of design, price, and QC. No, I mean that grey rectangular thingie that looks like the battery but the Evas use it to store the riffle. I'll take a pic tonight.

Give us Max Rau!!!!!!!!

A slight bent to your question (I actually only figured this out when I cleaned up my room and re-organised my toy display last weekend): If you have limited display area, Battroid is the way to go. You can fit a lot more battroid valks per square metre than fighters (you can do the X-Men Team pose, see pic ); But if I have more display space, I definitely display them in fighter mode, I think the 1/48 fighter looks hot. P.S. I actually think the 1/48 Battroid is too skinny and I don't like the wide chest plate. I love the proportion of the 1/55 Battroid [attachmentid=41505]

He...he...I guess I did exaggerated a little But I definitely missed the battery and the shoulder blade backpack. I always thought they are cool items. The bazooka and Bandai’s display stand would be nice too. If the Spec Eva is an one off thing for this line, then I will definitely miss the positron riffle. By the way, I love the Spec Eva's entry plug mechanism, it is almost 100% accurate. Anyhow, here is a pic from the Bandai’s LM HG 007 kit showing the accessaries. [attachmentid=41504]

Oh, you are the lucky one if you have not brought the 1st issue. This would be a stright forward decision. Go and get one Both links did not mention any new weapons. They mentioned an additional arm, the 3 heads, the bursted chest peice and that is about it. The lack of weapon with the Eva Spec line is one of the biggest disappointment. You can count on Bandai to come up with a weapon set, otherwise, we might have to wait for Eva-02 (if that happens at all)
-
From the Yahoo official page, it seems to be just the one version - the 400% sync and the Berserk are the same thing - the earlier link might have been a misleading. The Yahoo page says 3 heads are provided (the Berserk head, the normal head, and the bandaged head) These additional add-ons are exactly what were lacked with the original Spec. This make the Berserk set very well worth it (if you don't have one already... ) I hate this trick these companies use. Do they expect the customers to wait and not buying their 1st issue whenever they have a new product ? What happens if they issue another version with weapon set.... Fortunately, there is still some sense in buying this Berserk version even if you own the 1st issue already - you can use the spare eva to display the basic body - it is kind of an excuse to grab an extra eva anyway...
-
It doesn't appear to be an add on set, it reads something like: Japan limited SOC Spec Eva01 Berserk Version 5200 yen Japan limited SOC Spec Eva01 400% syc Version 5200 yen That sucks, I would have pay $100 to have a proper full set than paying 3x5200yen to have 3 different version. Arg.........

Um...I think Kaiyodo got too clever this time. Had they put the spear with the wing version, it is just a simple move for Eva nuts to buy 9 of the same. I am not sure if I want to do that now, knowing I will not be crazy enough to get 18 Eva-05 just to creat the final scene...ah well, I guess Kaiyodo might have shot themselve in the toe this time...

Take a pick I like the SOC metallic purple too BTY, Sachiel picked the wrong date to land on Tokyo 3 [attachmentid=41397]

Nice collection, nothing beat an army of SOCs (and other super robots) I reckon it is around $120 to 150USD. I have seen other trying to set the starting bid price at $200 to $300 but rarely do people bid for it. Actually, I like the scuplting of SG-09 more than SG-01. The shoulder pad of Aoshima's SG-01 is a little too bubblely for my taste and it has a fat little tummy. I like SHE's Shin Getter's proprtion of the bubble shoulder better. Though, I have to say, Aoshima's devil wing looks very cool. [attachmentid=41304]

The Dancouga is truely awsome in terms of size and transformability. My only complaint is the very loose neck, does anyone else have that problem?

mine is b/w

Ha...Ha...Sydney WhitePage, you are definitely a local . I quite like the darkening of the nose cone...um...you just gave me an idea...I just swtiched my LV1 nose cone with the LV Woodland...I think I will keep it that way. [attachmentid=41199]

Which company would you want to make toys for the new Macross series?
Mowe replied to Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0's topic in Toys
MKyuun, make sure you have open the VF-0S shoulder and checked for stress mark. If you have stress mark and continue to play with it, it will break eventually. Early detection can help ease the problem. Is better to be sure than have a broken arm. Good luck -
I love Yamato's proportion. The anime is too skinny. Thanks for the pics. Is good that the production prototype broke before it arrives our door steps.
