I agree, I think World of Warcraft, like Star Wars Galaxies is running mostly on its franchise name. Not really need is there, though I loved SWG(auction terminals but I wish the limit wasn't there). I can't say I'm not interested in it, I really enjoy the Warcraft games and I to want to check it out but I doubt I'll stay. I'd be pleasantly surprised if I did. There really is nothing different about it when compare with Everquest or SWG. Same basic setup gameplay wise, then again if the level grind is seriously reduced it would have that going for it.

Which is your favorite Star Trek series?
Effect replied to UN Spacy's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I liked Voyager once they got into Borg space. Before that in the beginning it was meh. It wasn't bad but it wasn't something I made sure I set my VCR for like I did with Deep Space 9. Voyager was kinda extreme in things. When episodes were bad they were really bad and when they were good they were really good. At least it seemd that way to me. Enterprise on the other had, just really hasn't grabed my attention. I can't help but compare it to other series but I'd much rather have it similar to Next Generation in that they would be exploring the galaxy, meeting different cultures the way things happen on TOS. What would be intresting would have been if everything was set on Earth. Kinda like how the one 2 parter on Deep Space 9 where Sisko ended up taking the place of one the leaders that cause reform during the 21st century. Something like that building up the launch of the first set of ships and then deal with first contacts would have been great. But we get a series where the they are already up to warp 5 and already dealing with time travel. I do remember hearing how they were trying to phase out the TOS. Though I doubt they could do it all. Reason being is that Deep Space 9 and the Star Trek movies refer back to the original series quite a few times. Even Next Generation does at times. Honestly I think things would have been a LOT better if they had gone with the show about Captain Sulu instead of Enterprise. Now that would have been really interesting, especially since he was suppose to have made a lot of alien first contacts and had tons of intersting encounters during his command. -
You know what I find interesting. From talking with someone in the beta it seems the North American servers aren't even in NA but in Taiwan just serperate from the other versions. Also the Taiwan version of the game seemed to be filled with bugs, memory leaks, etc when it went live though they are trying to fix it and add everything to the NA and JP versions of the game before they launch. That's suppose to be the reason why their release dates were pushed back. Imode that's just scary, this was the very reason I didn't like the random servers of FFXI. Also now that I'm remembering, wasn't Lineage the game that was suppose to have people actually killing people in real life(mob ties) due to events in the game? Yikes. Anyway I'd much rather if the servers were split by different countries, things just get really hostile on all sides. Thought I did signup for the beta, really like to see what its like and to decide if I'll try it out later.

Damn Lineage II has gotten a lot better. Was just checking out the site. A lot better then it was a few months ago. Still Ultima X is still looking like the game for me. Though it sucks that I have no real life friends that play these type of games. My friend from high school, who turned me onto Everquest back in the day, I've lost touch with. Online friends are great as well but still would be nice to know people outside of that.

Lineage 2 did seem really good. I'm having fun in Dark Age of Camelot myself, just started back. Though Ultima X: Odyseey can't be released soon enough, might check out L2 when its released though.

It would be interested to see how PvP is handled in FFXI. I don't think there would be a problem with the actual classes but more so the about setup of the game system. Fighting isn't instant like other games so that is going to make for some strange and frustrating PvP. The time it takes to get into battle mode for any class would allow your enemie to get in several hits, not to mention taking the time to target someone, even with shortcuts. Also why is there PvP between the players anyway, it goes against the story doesn't it? I mean aren't the nations suppose to be allied with each other against a common enemy? Will you be able to join the nations controled by the enemy? Or are these simply battle arenas with no real goal?

New Innocence: Ghost in the Shell preview
Effect replied to bsu legato's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
How does the GiTS timeline work. Is the series a sequel to the first movie or just a remake of the events in more detail? Or are the first movie and the 2nd movie one timeline while the series is another one with events taking place different? Also what is the whole GITS story about? I never really got into the first movie. Either due to not having time, bad downloaded copy or maybe it just didn't grab my interesting. Help would be great. -
Totally Spies is a show I watch everyday. Honestly when I first saw it I didn't think much of it until I was sick one day and didn't bother turning the channel and I watched a full episode. Its pretty good.

In the show its never said which Robin he is but part of the reason I think he's Tim is well because he acts like him. Dick and Todd never really acted like Batman but this Robin does time to time. He's more like Batman in his detective skills. From my understanding of the comics Tim is like that and more similar to Batman in how he does things. Actually the Adventures of Batman and Superman kinda show this as well. Nightwing/Robin was serious in his work but didn't really have that loner outlook until he became Nightwing, I think. Plus Dick was taller when he became Robin while this one is the same size as Tim(judging from the Batman and Superman show, and the times he and Batman showed up on the show Static Shock, hair style matches as well)

I really enjoy both. Batman and Superman have always been my favorite superheros, the JL has actually allowed me to like the others more as well. Teen Titans was a welcome surprise. Robin has always been one of my favorite characters, especially this third Robin. As for the show I don't believe it was animated in Japan for that audiance but its just that its heavyly influnced by the style. The Teen Titans comics are american made after all and have been out for sometime before the actual series.

I happen to like them all, Enterprise would be at the bottom of everything though. I just dont' find it interesting enough. My favorite has to be Deep Space Nine, followed by Next Generation. -
Harmony Gold & Toynami releasing DYRL? Toys
Effect replied to Duke Togo's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Hmm everyone does know that Carl Macek doesn't work for Harmony Gold anymore right? I've noticed a few post blaming him or insulting him. Let the blame goes where it derseves to go instead of blaming a man that hasn't worked for HG in years. He has nothing do with has happen in recent years. I'm just saying don't blame the wrong person. Its the owners of HG themselves that should be the target. -
That music is really familiar. Sounds like something from Final Fantasy for NES during the battles. Its been so long since I've played it but its what came to mind.

That was pretty good.

Effect replied to UN Spacy's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
The Office is pretty good, as is Coupling, both on BBC America. I can only watch it when I'm home, I wish I had digital cable up here at college too. -
Where is it being held? I wish I could go but most likely its on the west coast and I'm on the east..

Chappelle's show is the best. Reno 911 is pretty good as well. -

Honestly, I enjoyed watching the Simpsons but I never really found the so all that funny. Maybe its just me. It has had it moments though and I usually find mysel smiling most of the time but I've never actually laughed out loud or really laughed at all like I've done in other shows. The ones I mentioned above for example. -

Well I always found Family Guy and Futurama to be way funnier. Still a Simpsons movie sounds interesting, not bad for its final bow out. -

That's one thing about the poseables, the legs and arms fall off to easily. The arm came of the on series 2 poseable I had and the leg came off one of my series 1 poseable. I haven't gotten any of the Alpha poseables yet, but I have a metallic one coming in the mail, I hope that one fairs better. -

They say there is no market for it. Which is funny since they have never done any type of testing or tried to push that part of the series. Instead they are going on market data from the early 80s. To actually create a market for SC toys HG would actually have to put in some work. Everything they've done so far has simply been copies off products that have been produced already by other companies. Clothing, hats, mugs are simple. You just need to add the logo to the hat, cloths or image to a cup. No real work there. -

If they are able to release more DYRL products, fine. Doesn't mean I will buy them, especially when other online stores still sell the imports. Its all about quality for me. If they do release a R1 DVD of DYRL I'd buy it but only if there was a subbed version of it and it was cheap. I already have a version. True we won't know anything till more information on either side is released.
