So how did you manage to do that? -
Hello all, I just posted this in the For Sale section...but I had many requests to put a thread up here about it. After almost 10 months we finally got the Glaug Booster finished. I was inspired to make this kit after watching MACROSS (TV Series) for the millionth time. I found myself asking - Why there were so few enemy mecha models. And then i saw it...the Galug with a Booster on it. I thought wouldn't that be cool if there was a model kit of this. So I started building. At first I was going to shoot for 1/72 scale and make the entire thing out of resin. Then I realized how big and costly it would be to make it so I finally decided on 1/100. Plus we had already made a 1/100 Fighter Pod, so the two would compliment each other nicely. To build the frist one it took me only about a month and a half. But that poor beast met with disaster as it was destroyed just as it was about to be finished. So I started again from scratch. Did a few design changes. This one was going to be made entirely out of resin, including the Glaug itself. Ran into a problem with the arm cannons being able to stay up. Unfortunately the second one met with the same fate as the first when it was knocked off a table and broke into a million pieces. Well actually about 10. So that one was scrapped as well. The final attempt, which is the creation I am showing you now. It was mostly NOT built by me. But the guy who added the finishing touches on the frist Fighter Pod and completely re-designed the Version 2 Fighter pod which was BW approved and sold at WF in Japan. I did however make the main Body of this, but he added the detail and fixed all of my problems. We decided to go against making the Glaug in resin for the following reasons. To save on resin, reducing the price. And to finish it as soon as possible. Without further wait here are the pics. I will take more once the m,olds are completely finished and I have a set of pieces to show. I started painting it with a brush. It isn't that great and basically all it has on it is base coat and the primer. Please be gentle! BTW I will be submitting this for approval for Summer Wonder Festival 2004. Hopefully I can get this one licensed as well. Top View of the Pod The Bottom Detail The Rear Thurster Without the Bandai 1/100 Glaug Kit Basically what you need to make this kit is a Bandai 1/100 Scale Model kit. Yes it does need to be assembled and painted. Comes in about 17 pieces. We tried to add as much detail as possible. Unfortunately I do not have decals for this beast, but hopefully soon I will. Maybe I could talk WMCheng into painting one for me. What do you think? Please give me your thoughts on this. And thank you for letting me post this As soon as I get some more pics taken I will post them. Rob MN

Do you understand what a copyright is? COPYRIGHT FEES It can be up to a total of $500 for just one piece of work, not to mention if you publish it. Just saying you have a copyright on something doesn't mean that it is actually copyrighted. And if you really are going down and filing for everything I really envy...you must be really rich. Rob

It was made for the GANSO Line. Heres a pic of one of the boxes. they are pretty rare now. I am not sure how many they made but i do know they made the VF-1S and the VF-1J, and lastly the VF-1S Strike. The ganso line also included Gundams. And lots of them. They sell for insane prices here in Japan. Rob MN

Hello all! Maybe this is a n00b question but I couldn't find the answer anywhere...also MODS feel free to delete this if you feel necessary.... Okay here is the question. I was thinking about all the Recon Craft / Mecha in the Macross Universe. UN Spacy has the Cat's Eye, the VE-1 Elintseeker, Modified VF-11's and just about every other ship could be modified for Recon purposes (Except for the YF-21?) and a few Fan Made customs that were approved (?). The Zentradi have the Regult Scout. Did the Melantradi have any special Recon Ships or Mecha? I was just wondering if they had a special Q-Rau that was used for this purpose. And if they didn't...why?!? Were they just "Kick-But" and take names...We don't need no stinkin' Scouts! If there is any info about this please share! Or feel free to share your opinions on the subject. Rob MN

Yeah TRU Japan is pretty awesome! The one by my house kinda sucks but if you go into the Big City you can find a way bigger selection. I personally stop by TRU about once a week on my way home. Mainly to buy Pretzels.....it's the only lace in Japan to get them at a decent price. If any of you ever do get a chance to come to Japan, TRU is definately a place to stop and look around! Rob MN

what a crock... calling it "Mint" I can clearly see curling and seperation in the stickers... let alone the fact that the stickers have already been applied, missing the figure, box dents (duh, then the box is not mint)... and starting the bid at 999.99? This isn't a MW person is it? I'd be careful with who you call a crook, Noel (Black Aces) is a great part of the community and everything you described is stated on the auction. He has helped many member attain their Macross and other anime merchandise in the past and I'm sure will continue to do so. Noel also does a service for us by bringing us the Wonderfest reports for an early peek at the new Macross products. I can understand if you don't agree with the price but let's not be hasty with labeling them as crooks. What EXO Said. The fact that this toy is extremely OLD, it is in excellent conditon. If I had been the one who listed it I would have said it was mint as well.
