  1. Wound up becoming a prequel and EU display:
  2. Don’t have a Sentinel yet, and only own the Toynami. But here’s my observations: Part of it has to do with how the feet collapse into the legs. Toynami’s really don’t collapse at all. The other part involves how the back of the chest intakes are hollowed out a little to allow the legs to fit in more compact. The back of the Toynami’s chest intake is a solid block that the legs butt up against. And lastly, the way the whole hip assembly flips up for fighter mode is something the Toynami version never did. There’s a slight adjustment of the hips between fighter and battloid mode, but it’s almost unnoticeable.
  3. It’s still amazing how compact they got the legs and feet to get in fighter mode.
  4. Thanks! Max isn’t locked to any piece of land; he belongs to the skies.
  5. I thought the other darker blue (more akin to the Cobra Trooper/Cobra Officer Blue) is the mass release version?
  6. Looks at the past two pages. So when the Fuke is Houquet’s Legioss gonna be up for preorder and what’s the planned release date?
  7. An old attempt at copying one of my favorite GI Joe comic book covers:
  8. I thought those speeders were supposed to be dirtier? One of the dumbest, funniest scenes from Season 1 though.
  9. The good thing about the Guld figure and the Yammy 1/60 is that the cockpit rotates so that Guld is facing out in battroid mode (instead of down toward the ground).
  10. Or that one that had its hyperdrive crushed by a Sith while in hyperspace, and wound up smashed to hell with no onboard survivors. Well, technically it’s a Republic destroyer. But very similar.
  11. For all of us Yanks out there, may all your 4th of July family gatherings be calm, relaxing affairs . . . like this:
  12. Longer. Bellyplates. For. Battroid. Pics of Gerwalk, preferably showing the underside. Both issues are related, and that bellyplate design is biggest design choice that utterly mucks up all three modes.
  13. Yah "hobbitted" the figures! Peter Jackson would be proud. Martian steel: it's thinner than Terran steel but more resistant to projectile weapons and dissipates heat from a laser shot faster and more efficiently.
  14. A bunch of Jedi and Rebel scum:
  15. Hey! Not all us accountants are soulless bastards that know the cost of everything but the value of nothing. Blame the lawyers; they screw everything up. “No, no, no, don’t use R2-D2 too much; per the contract, we have to pay a royalty to Lucas for every minute he’s on-screen.” “If you change the dish on the Falcon, we can claim it as our own Disney-developed design. It’ll keep our royalty costs down, and we keep the profits from any toys or models inspired by the new design.”
  16. It’s been awhile, but I don’t think I ever knocked Lucas for his design work and “big picture”/overall story arc ideas. He does know how to tweak ship or creature designs to make them more visually interesting. And the Prequels’ main story arcs are pretty good (the flaws in Anakin, in the Jedi, and in the Republic all lead to their downfalls). His fatal flaws are in his dialogue and his directing. He’s not exactly known as an actors’ director. And some of the choices or scenes he chooses to emphasize are kinda suspect. Add in the questionable repeated tinkering with the OT (adding the unnecessary “Nooooo!” to ROTJ’s most powerful scene). And I think everyone was ready for a new spin on Star Wars without Lucas’ worst tendencies. We knew the “highs” we would get with Lucas at the helm, but we were getting tired of the recurring “lows.”
  17. It literally took a slow boat from China to get here, but I finally mustered a “few” more troops for the 501st:
  18. Apologies to NWA: Cruisin’ down the Temple with my 501st. . .
  19. That doesn’t look like the gun they were showing on the earlier Zeta prototype.
  20. Don’t care if it is the actual costume’s color. Cobalt blue > Purple.
  21. The problem with the sequel trilogy is the same issue with most of JJ Abrams’ stuff: scratch below the surface, and there‘s nothing else there. No depth of character, nothing more to the story but moving plot forward. Contrast it with animated Clone Wars. Tossed in a never-referred to apprentice for Anakin and slightly retconned an earlier take on Clone Wars. BUT it created rich characters, made you give a massive damn about the clones, and ADDED and gave more depth to the story tapestry of Star Wars. If they had a coherent plan for the sequel trilogy, they could have made a more compelling story for Rey. Has a longing to know who her parents/family are, discovers she’s Main Bad Guy’s progeny, but rejects her “destiny” to forge her own path. That gets lost in all the plotting for all three sequel movies.
  22. It’s actually fine. To be honest, I’m more of an uber-fan of Garbage. . . . Though their last album was kinda meh.
  23. They went all-in on the 70’s style TV show opening credits: I’ve been enjoying the season, but wonder when they’re gonna start revealing and resolving some of the character problems.
  24. High and Dry (a personal fave of mine). And Karma Police (because of the video). That’s all I got.
