    Just finished the season finale. That was a funny and enjoyable way to end the season.

    As a movie, I can get the annoyance. As a typical arc for the TV series, it wasn’t that horrible. The Skyguy and Artooie crap was dumb, and Rex was relegated to just shouting all his lines (except for his awesome “experience outranks everything” line). But having watched later eps first, I can see signs of what was to become of the series later.

    Well, both Greef and Mando are criminals (EDIT: sorry, bounty hunters or guys working in the underworld of society) working on the outskirts of the galaxy. I doubt they’re big into Jedi history or Jedi in general. If they were working closer to the Republic/Galactic center, I could see them being more familiar with the Jedi. Add in how rare Yodas supposedly are, and it isn’t too much of a stretch to understand that Greef and Mando don’t know jack about Baby Yoda’s species or about the Force. Regarding Mando’s age, if we assume he’s in his 30’s, he’s probably around Han or Luke’s age. And we all know what Han’s original opinion was of that “hokey religion” and Force stuff. Lastly, let’s not forget that Obi-Wan whipped out a lightsaber in a Tatooine cantina, and no one even batted an eyelash. And this series is about 10 years (?) removed from that incident.

    DVD’s of the first 6 episodes (when they went on sale), including non-anamorphic copies of the Original Trilogy. Have all the rest available via streaming (Netflix and Disney+). Would probably buy Rogue One, but again easy access via streaming. The only hard thing to get via streaming is the Genndy T. Clone Wars microseries. So, doubtful I’d buy that blu ray pack.

    Since we already watched this week's Mando episode, I exposed my kiddos to a great example of coherent story-telling with logical character moments, ridiculously fun action sets, and an understanding of the story that came before it. All while adding its own quality moments to the existing lore: Still freakin' good all these years later!

    That massive glut of Stormies does tie back to the Imperial’s “Death Thru Attrition” war philosophy though. Regarding your comment, @jenius, that’s “sorta” what the Machete Order does with the films (watch them in this order: IV, V, II, III, then VI).

    And TLJ did NOTHING to develop its new main leads. Finn-Poe friendship? No growth during TLJ. Rey’s understandably off Jedi training, BUT. . . there were no “hints” in TLJ. The problem with TLJ is that it’s disconnected from both the film that precedes it and the film the follows it.

    I just find it ironic when critics bellyache that this movie jumps from place to place, and character interaction and development is only at a bare/functional minimum. HELLO, that’s been JJ’s style since like forever! He’s always prioritized plot over character. Took critics long enough to figure that out.

    ^^I’ll wait until full plot details are revealed, but if the spoilers are true, TLJ should have dropped more hints. TLJ would still have to overhaul that slow slog space battle, but a coherent overall trilogy arc should have already been in place. Not down to every detail per se. But at least have the major story beats and arcs down. How you get there would have been up to creative.

    Clone Wars, Rebels, Mandalorian. That’s the spiritual successor trilogy.

    Yeah, and there were annoyances about the Special Edition changes too. But for the main line movies, there wasn’t as wide a divide in opinions. Most fans would agree that TPM and AOTC had disappointing flaws, cruddy dialogue, and an over-reliance on CGI battles. But again, the RANGE of opinions wasn’t as wide as it was after TLJ.

    Considering it's 15 vehicles combined into one robot, considering it also has to combine into three separate "super" vehicles, and considering all the articulation points they were still able to design into it, it's amazing that Bandai was able to pull this sucker off. Two-handed sword poses (with a proper gap between the hands) and wide-legged stances are easy to pull off:

    I think most level-headed fans back then (late 90's/early 00's) would admit that the Original Trilogy was better than the Prequel Trilogy. With Revenge of the Sith, you may see a little variation of opinions. But not opinion variation to the extent seen with TLJ. Plus as some folks mentioned before on this thread, ship designs and music were still on point for the prequels. There's really been no memorable or consistent leitmotifs/themes for Rey, Kylo, Finn, or Poe. Notice how much they have to rely on the old themes and Duel of the Fates to sell this "last" movie?
