^^Hasbro Exec: “Okay, we’ll give you one version of Cobra Commander . . . with his updated look. And one version of CC with a hood. And one version with gold weapons and red and black color scheme. And one version in battle armor. And one version in ceremonial gear. And one version with a vac-metal mask. And one version for the alternate universe where Destro becomes the Cobra Commander. And one version for the timeline where Duke’s evil twin is actually Cobra Commander. And one version . . .”

Got my order in for the 501st ARC troopers set. Those Bandai pre-order nights got me prepared for this, but it went relatively smoothly. Considering all the crapping I throw Hasbro's way, they actually had their website ready for the extra traffic and did things to limit the scalpers.

Looking forward to seeing this done chunky style. I've seen the 1/48 versions, but I don't think I've ever seen it done with the 1/55's. In regards to the custom above, it's pretty crazy to see all the work you put in on this Hikky 1J.

I didn’t see anything new in the 6 inch or 3.75 lines. Would be nice if they packed a 3.75 Mando in Beskar armor along with Baby Yoda.

Well, there’s still 3 and 1/2 months left in 2020, so . I wouldn’t put anything past this crazy-ass year. But in all seriousness, condolences to her family.

The Mandalorian - Star Wars webseries from Jon Favreau

Plus, since they practically film everything inside The Volume, it’s not like he’s out on location a ton, at the mercy of the weather conditions, wearing that suit and helmet.- 1438 replies

Interesting idea. The last pic shows that any potential Tread from Sentinel will probably shrink the gaps between the central yellow array and the boosters. But they're gonna have to use some slick engineering/witchcraft to integrate a full sized cockpit for the Tread that's at least comparable to what Toynami did.

Well, considering they stopped airmail service to the US, it was the only option available. Even with the delay, I still got the figures I wanted for a fairly cheap price.

Bought some stuff from an eBay seller in China/Hong Kong back in late April. Basically a bunch of 3.75” figures packed in a small envelope sized cardboard box. Finally got it about 10 weeks later. Literally had to be shipped on a slow boat from China.

The Mandalorian - Star Wars webseries from Jon Favreau

The other thing to consider is that Season 2’s filming probably started around the time the first few Season 1 episodes aired and then wrapped up before COVID hit. So, tensions could have bubbled up. But when everyone saw how the series went over like crazy, they probably all calmed down. Just my usual speculation/wild-ass guessing.- 1438 replies

The Mandalorian - Star Wars webseries from Jon Favreau

Some folks are saying that the Jedi looking lady is actually professional wrestler Sasha Banks. As for the character she’s playing? I’m speculating maybe she’s a Sith Inquisitor. Just looks like one, and could be a good fake out, making us think she’s a Jedi. Most people suspected Sasha would be playing Sabine Wren, but I ain’t getting any Sabine vibes from those images. We’ll see how it all pans out.- 1438 replies

I’ve gotten some mileage out of the +, other than Mando and the related making of series. Got to see Clone Wars properly ended. Got to expose kiddos to Rebels. Family got to enjoy Frozen II and Hamilton (without having to drop ridiculous coin for theater tickets). And got to properly scar the kids with Old Yeller (That should delay their asking for a pet dog for about . . . a week ).- 1438 replies

A yappy beagle trying to hump your leg is no joke. Though, Discovery’s time-jumping shenanigans resulting in the destruction of all java beans and Earle Grey tea leaves in the Alpha Quadrant would cause almost all of those captains to declare all-out war.

Kirk would infect them with all the space herpes he’s gotten over the years. Picard would speechify and “diplomacy” them to death. The Sisko would get pissed off, fire off a barrage of upgraded torpedos, and go back to finishing off his morning raktajino. Janeway would try to be friendly with them and then have her future self come back to blast them with a Batmobile-armored Voyager. (Something about having their cake and eating it too? ) And Archer would send his beagle to run amok time onboard the Discovery.

Last Jedi is the film that really split the franchise: folks either liked it or hated it. There isn’t much “in between” opinions out there. Prior to that film, you could say that the fandom was this massive united monolith (even if you had a few stubborn EU supporters like me ). But the splitting/fracturing really kicked into high gear after Last Jedi was released. I can agree with you about the nadir comment. Part of what’s been bugging Trek since then is what is the show (or film) at its core? It’s this strange mix of sci-fi adventure; within a naval tradition/military background; that tries to show the audience a hopeful, better future (either through the growth of the characters or the aliens they encounter). Unfortunately, a lot of that core has been mucked up by shoddy execution or too burdened and buried by all the history/backstory it has to navigate through.

So, hold my breath, put on museum curator level gloves (to prevent getting oils/sweat on outside of hazmat suit), continue holding breath, put on hazmat suit, continue holding breath, put toy in hypothetical container, try to focus despite lack of oxygen in brain, close container, and pray that my medulla oblongata reminds my lungs to start breathing again.
-
Fixed that for ya'. Semi-back on topic: there's a local channel here that airs old eps of TOS, TNG, DS9, Voy, and Ent every weeknight. If I'm channel surfing/vegging and see a good TOS, TNG, or DS9 ep listed, I'm likely to tune in. Voy and Ent, not so much.

Well, launching it into space may reduce the impact of gravity, but we would be increasing the outside temperature variations on the hypothetical container. Plus, there's all that radiation we have to deal with if we launch it too far out of Earth's magnetic bubble. That's assuming the plastic (and other toy materials) can survive the temperature drop to absolute zero. That's why I said to keep the inside of the container at a constant 20 degrees Celsius (basically cool room temperature). So, should we go with a full hazmat suit before we put the toys in the container (to prevent any outside contaminants from interacting with the toys)? Or will wearing museum curator level gloves and holding our breath be sufficient to minimize the impact of any contaminants and that pesky oxygen?
-
So basically we should store our toys in a lead-shielded container that actively sucks out all oxygen and other gases within the container, allows 0.000000000001 percent outside ambient light to seep into the container, while maintaining a constant 20 degrees Celsius temperature, preferably in a location that minimizes the impact of the outside atmosphere, air pressure, background radiation, and gravity.
