    Motion has been accepted by the forum and formally adopted. . . Let it be known that we, the members of the Macross World Forums, do hereby solemnly resolve that Dave Filoni should be made head story reviewer with final say on all Star Wars related story content. This final say shall take preference even above any of Kathleen Kennedy’s comments, suggestions, or objections. We shall forward this motion to Disney and Lucasfilms, and they shall initiate this promotion of Filoni post haste and immediately upon receipt. Adopted motion is dated in the year of our Lord 2020 May 15th at 9:35pm Greenwich Meridian Time. We have spoken, For This is the Way. SO SAY WE ALL! (In the tradition of our MWF forefathers, we shall now all take a swig or “pour one out for the homies” of the sacred Yoshinol to commemorate the ratification of this motion.)

    Nah, Legendary Defender will go down as one of those sneaky good, under the radar series. It struck a nice balance between homaging the old series (both the original anime and the US adaptation) and standing up as its own thing.* That’s not something you can say about any Robotech follow-up. I’d be curious to see if they did do a follow up series with the vehicles. And I can see them doing something that kinda ties back to Dairugger’s original premise. But I’d speculate that it’s Netflix dropping the ball and the creators not having the itch to come up with a follow-up story that resulted in this oversight. * I’ll concede that things on the toy front kinda suck for LD. Would love to see the LD Voltron and the Sincline combiner given the SOC treatment.

    Plus, they did produce an updated toy of Dairugger under Bandai’s SOC line. But Robotech’s pretty much a dead franchise at this point.

    It’d be nice if they could finally do later season versions of Kanan, Ezra, Sabine, and the rest of the Ghost crew.

    This is probably amateur hour/“no duh” stuff, but I found the following tools and items to be helpful in modding this toy. I know we got some great threads here for modeling. And I know other folks here have more experience working and cutting polystyrene than I do. But I found these items useful for working on toys, especially when working on this mod/custom. 1). Instead of slathering every screwhole with WD-40, I found this set-up worked best to get those stubborn, years-old screws to finally get loose: It’s basically just a precision screwdriver being held by self-adjusting groove joint pliers. It allows me to push down and torque the screw loose without killing my fingers or grip. Usually hear and feel a distinct pop/squeak when the screw loosens. 2). When fixing the broken shoulder with a screw, I had to trim/shear the screw with the following: The “fun” issue: If you cut the bolt/screw too short, you won’t have enough room to get the nut to hold. Cut It too long, and you wind up with the bolt/screw impeding the arm from rotating between cruiser and attack mode. 3). When panel-lining the Macross, I used the following pens: I also used these to panel-line my assorted Valks. Easy to use, and wipes off with just spit and a tissue (when you mess up). I usually use the light grey on the white areas (for a more subtle line). And the black pen on the colored areas to make the line “pop out” more. When using these pens, make sure you point them at an angle, never straight perpendicular to the surface. If you point them straight down, there’s a chance you’ll ruin the tip and the pen will no longer work.

    All those in favor of having Filoni go over all Star Wars related media for story content and for a sanity/consistency check, say “Aye.”

    I agree. Just think there should have been less “dumb luck” bits in TPM. Have Anakin and Jar Jar make conscious choices to be heroic at the end. With AOTC, the romance fell flat (what’s Padme’s motivation for liking Anakin?). And overall, there was too much “tell me,” rather than “demonstrate it” in the characters’ actions and interactions.

    Yeah, I didn’t have any ball-hinged or ball-and-socket joints for that particular mod. I think I was more focused on making sure the shoulder repair/workaround worked and the main gun extension succeeded. Plus, the places that I found the joints were shipping out of Japan (while I’m based out of the US). Like I said before, I tend to be impatient.

    Holy crap! Filoni actually made me appreciate Phantom Menace now. Bloody brilliant and beautiful explanation for the first six movie episodes!

    What I enjoy about Filoni is that he’s quick to point out where his weaknesses are and give credit to those who helped him improve. I think he pointed out that, at the start of Clone Wars, he had always storyboarded and then was told that Clone Wars wouldn’t have any storyboarding. He credits Lucas for improving his abilities in a variety of ways. He gives major props to Favreau for helping him learning the ins and outs of directing live-action. Again the collaboration is awesome to see.

    As promised, cruiser mode pics: You can see where the front landing gear cover cracked in this pic and the gappy chest seams due to the mods/repairs I did: Close-Up Shots: Bridge work : Even after making some repairs, you can kinda, sorta see that one main gun boom is just a smidge longer than the other (maybe 5mm difference?): Flying on a Flexi/Flightpose stand: Despite some challenges, I'm really pleased with how this all turned out. Finally got my large-scale TV-STYLE Macross!!!!
