So after re-watching the last episode, there's one thing I just noticed: When Rex is trying to negotiate/stall the clones in the hangar, Jesse straight up refers to the soon-to-be Emperor as "Darth Sidious." Not Palpatine. Not Chancellor. Straight up calls him by his Sith name. Even Rex, when Order 66 is given in the previous episode, refers to him as "Lord Sidious." Wonder why Filoni and company made that choice? In ROTS, Cody and the clones don't refer to him as Sidious during Order 66; they just refer to him as "Lord." In any case, that's some royally messed up programming (or impressive planning ) to turn the clones against the Jedi, make them aware that Palpatine is a Sith Lord, and make them cool with following a Sith Lord (especially after battling Dooku and other dark siders the past few years).

I didn't put her up this year. But in years past, this "tough little ship" has found a spot on the tree: Love that the rear dorsal lights blink too. -
Considering how so few Rebel pilots survived the first Death Star, I thought the story was that no one had the stones to ask why Wedge had two Death Star killmarks on his X-Wing.

They were doing it to demonstrate it to the audience. It’s one thing for him to say he’ll do anything to save the kid; it’s quite another for him to take off his helmet, just for the chance to save him. My elementary age son even gasped when Mando did that. People have done stupid, risky things for love. Like some Jedi Knight lopping off Younglings on the off-chance he could find a way to prevent his pregnant wife’s death.- 1438 replies

Is that Fennec Shand at the 0:41 mark? Curious what their Order 66 moment will be. But they were overstaying their welcome around the third or fourth Clone Wars ep. Wonder if they kept the Amidala nosecone art on their ship.

Can anyone fill me in on the old EU history of the Rogue Squadron? I’m not as well versed in that aspect. Always thought they were the aces of the Rebellion. So when I hear about pilots “earning their wings” in a squad that had Luke and Wedge “I Have TWO Death Star Killmarks on My Ride” Antilles, it kinda kills the mystique of the Rogues.

If it doesn’t come back to bite him later down the line, you can all have an “I told you so.” But bottom line: Mando essentially decided “The Way” is less important than saving the kid. He picked love over some rigid code. Worked out for some kid named Luke and his pops.- 1438 replies

I thought Ahsoka will lead Mando and crew through an underground mountain pass, where she’ll have to face off against the “Bane of Skywalker” who’s wielding a lightwhip. Upon barely surviving the encounter, the Force will cause a “Reconvergence of the Force” upon her (or some other mumbo-jumbo), and she’ll come back to her friends (while Bo Katan cough-mutters something about copying Kara Thrace). In the New Republic’s most desperate time of need, she’ll then return back triumphantly, leading the Riders of the Mandalore to save the day. And then she’ll help to save Coruscant from an invasion that will take 3.5 hours of runtime to resolve (5 hours if you’re watching the extended edition).

I’m gonna set the over/under at 3.5 for the streaming series. They gotta keep adding new content to feed the +. But some of the content is a bit iffy. I’d be totally down if the Droid story were about R2 (sans Threepio), Chopper, AP-5, or HK-47. But anyone else? Obi could be good. But as I’ve said before in this thread, too much plot gymnastics to get Obi and Vader to face off again. Can’t get much more “master vs. learner” than Obi chopping off Anakin’s arm and legs, jacking his lightsaber, and leaving him to die on some lava planet.

Wouldn’t take much to put 2 and 2 together. - Unknown facial scan - Asking for location of/information about Gideon’s ship - At a base where officers were shot and a big explosion happened. If the New Republic can figure out that some dude in Mandalorian armor and a Razor Crest ship participated in a prison break but tried to prevent the murder of a New Republic officer, I think a more than competent Imperial moff can figure things out.- 1438 replies

Star Wars Visions - Disney+ Anime series

Anime, huh? Does this mean will get a bunch of OP's and ED's? -
Variety is the spice of life, DH. Some missions require speed, some require a hefty payload, and sometimes you wanna confuse and pester the enemy with a variety of different fighter types.

Yeah, the facial scan is probably gonna come back to bite him in the ass. But it also shows the lengths Mando will go to get the kid back. If he hadn't done it, it would be "Good for you! You kept your creed, but now you blew your best chance to find that kid you wanted to protect at all costs." The good thing about this show is that Mando's actions do have consequences (both good and bad) and are followed up in later episodes. I also do appreciate the cognitive dissonance this episode had going for it: we're cheering for Mando to succeed and empathize with the Imperial troopers celebrating his hard fought accomplishment. But he's also handing a destructive weapon to the "bad guys" and killing people who are probably trying to liberate their home from the Imps. And a tip of the cap for giving the character of Mayfield some solid depth. Guess some Imps can shoot straight!- 1438 replies

If it’s a mid-OT story, it’s kinda tricky to do without involving that farmboy that runs around with a lightsaber.

Did they actually specify when this story will take place? No Wedge, no dice.

Still think it’s dumb for Obi to cross paths with Vader during this time period. Obi’s goal between ROTS and ANH is to lay relatively low and watch/protect Luke. Too much plot gymnastics to either get Obi off Tatooine or have Papa Vader get a homecoming and not discover Luke. Still think an Obi, Hett, Anakin story that cuts back and forth between current time and Clone Wars period is the way to go. . . . In regards to all the new Star Wars series announcements, I’m sure some will turn out good. But . . . I got a bad feeling about this
