    Only two eps in, and I have mixed feelings already. Some of the banter is fun, especially between the three mains. But not feeling Vicious. At. All. Doesn’t seem sinister enough. Too bugged eyed. And looks like a Malfoy or Targaryen reject. Also, the more they show of Julia, the less appealing she becomes. They should have adopted the “less is more” stance with Vicious and Julia. Also, I can see the limitations of the filming/budget. The outside scenes feel off and don’t feel immersive enough, like you can tell where the background is CGI’ed or added in. There aren’t any smooth, seamless transitions between live action and CG, like when one character’s ship gets shot up, cut to Spike’s reaction, and then the next scene shows that shot up character drifting in space. Or when John Cho is in a fight scene, there’s a lot of cuts and edits. I guess we got spoiled with the minimally cut John Wick, The Raid, and Netflix Marvel fight scenes. For those who have watched the anime, I peeked at the episode list, and it looks like this “season” ends around Ballad of Fallen Angels. I’ll probably check out the rest and give a full impression once I finish the season.

    Haven’t seen any of the OVA’s or movies. But definitely avoid the sequel series, Ao. Started promising enough, but wound up being a big reset button.

    After seeing the embedded videos and reading a little of the synopsis. . . . . . I think I’m gonna stick with the original series and then “head canon” it that Renton and Eureka went back to their adopted kids at the end. Probably easier this way and won’t give my brain a raging headache.

    Second trailer for The Expanse’s final season: Looks like a throw-down with Inaros. But I’m not sure what that last bit is all about though.

    The mudguard might just be a matter of snapping it back into place. Have to see the condition of the portions that connect to the wheel base. The grey joint that sheared off, you’ll probably have to ask one of our modeling experts here to give you the best advice on what to use. Not sure superglue would be able to hold up to all the stress that part must go through. The blue headlight/shoulder armor I believe just needs to be popped back onto that grey part’s ball joint (the small broken bit in your pic).

    Ehh, it's always been "just business" and about money. That whole benign company is just PR (reminds me of the good joke about hell and recruiting). Back in my younger days, I used to use the phrases "Work hard; play hard" and "That's just the nature of the beast" to justify/explain why I worked that much. Nowadays? I'm under no delusions about company loyalty. I'll do the job and help out. But there are things far, FAR more important than the job. No one's ever said on their deathbed, "I wish I worked more and gave more of my time to the company!!111!!!"

    ^^Hopefully, the actual trailer would ape some of those lines (such as Obi saying the "There's still good in him; I can sense it." line). Still would prefer a story that somehow brings in Hett (just so we could get a Clone Wars era flashback). But if there must be another duel, they need a really good excuse reason for getting Obi off of Tatooine.

    At 24, I was taught the hard lesson that putting all your eggs into the "dream job" at the prestigious accounting firm isn't all its cracked up to be. That there's more to life than just THE CAREER. You study your whole life, get the good grades, go on to college, and get that top job. . . and have nothing else to show for it. Had to be taught that lesson later again for that message to finally sink in. Don't get me wrong: I'm thankful for the career I chose (and the pay that comes with it). BUT I enjoy spending time with my family, having time to dork around on this message board, and being able to actually take most federal holidays off (seriously, screw coming into work on President's Day just because it's "busy season.").

    Considering the Beagle was priced at around $200 over 10 years ago, it’s kinda hard to compare Macross prices to Mospeada prices. Macross is kinda niche already, but Mospeada is an even more niche brand. I also shudder to think what kind of pre-order hell we’d have to endure if Bandai were producing these. Mospeada’s definitely been kinda snake-bitten on the toy side of things too: * Gakken: solid 80’s toys. But some holes in their offerings and only that super rare Tread/Beta. * Toynami: Gave us the Dark Legioss and large-scale Beta. But all Alphas have tons of flaws/razor thin tolerances, have unnecessary/unneeded die cast, and get horribly floppy. * Beagle: great ride armors. But cloth flakes off on Stick. And they went out of business before they could go into production on their Houquet/Bartley, and we never saw what they could do for Yellow/Blowsuperior. * CM’s: probably the most complete set of Mospeada items available of any manufacturer. But their Legioss and Tread have some annoying flaws (especially for their price), and there have been reported breakages on their smaller ride armors. * Megahouse: released three of the ride armors, but never got to Houquet. * Evolution Toys: released larger scale Legiosses. But lots of folks pointed out how they look nice but are a floppy mess that needs things to lock better in place. Given this sordid history, it’s a minor miracle that we’re this close to getting the main ride armor crew in a larger scale AND that same manufacturer has made some good Legiosses (and hopefully, Treads 😬) to go along with them. Make no mistake: I have criticized Sentinel for certain choices. But I’m happy overall with what I’ve gotten so far from them.

    How ‘bout if we say the DESIGN of these Ride Armors (and the Legiosses) is pretty ingenious (except for the potential breakage with that one joint)? Given how complex the Ride Armor can be, Sentinel pulled off a pretty good rendition. And other than CM’s smaller/prone to breakage versions, Sentinel will the first one to give us the whole core Ride Armor crew. Add in the slick design work they did to give us a compact Legioss fighter mode that also DOESN’T flop in any mode, and Sentinel has built up some goodwill. . . . Just keep the production Houquet closer to red than that neon pink! 🤪🧐

    WithOUT the armor, you can pose the figure like crazy. But with the ride armor on, it does limit some of the “poseability,” just because of the how the armor attaches at certain points. Even with these limitations though, they’re rock solid with no floppy joints anywhere. And it’s fairly easy to mimic the poses Sentinel did for their promo shots.

    Short answer: Yes, but there are things to be cautious about. Some parts do have a tendency to pop off. But most are ball-and-socket joints, so it’s just a matter of popping them back into place. Getting the hip armor to separate from the bike (or pushed back into the bike) can be a scary moment, but there’s a tip probably about 100 to 200 pages back in this thread about how to properly do it. And unfortunately, there have been multiple reported incidents, where the joint that connects the rib plating(?) (best way I can describe it) has cracked or broke. Thankfully haven’t had it happen to any of mine yet, but it is another area to be careful with.

    Welcome to pre-ordering. I’m just thankful it’s been relatively easy to preorder. . . . and wasn’t sold out in literally minutes (side-eyes Bandai). . . . . or isn’t scheduled behind 900 billion other things that are on preorder AND have already been delayed and who knows when they’ll actually ship (LOOKING AT YOU, HASBRO!).

    I’m curious to see a height comparison with the boys. I wouldn’t be surprised if the feet rests were moved to accommodate Houquet’s shorter height (or the higher gap in her high heel boots). I also think the strawberry blonde hair is throwing me off with Houquet’s look. I’m so used to seeing it simply yellow blonde.

    I wonder if the box art for Houquet will tease Sentinel’s next release. Like if we see Rey and/or the Tread in the background, that’s the hint. Or if we see someone in black female armor with a big ol’ TV camera, we know what’s coming down the pipeline.

    It's so weird: I look at the Houquet pics on my iPhone, they look like the nice cherry red I used to custom painted the figure that came with the Zeta. I look at the exact same pics on my laptop, and they look like they lean more towards a pinkish red. Not the day-glow pink of the Zeta figure, but definitely leaning more towards the pinkish-red side. Like I said. . . weird. A few other things I noticed, it looks like Houquet's upper arms and chest won't be covered in fabric like the boys: Despite the nit-picks, I am glad that Sentinel is finally completing the set and looks to have nailed more right (than wrong) on this iteration. . . . . . So, is it too early to speculate about a TREAD prototype? (OUR DEMANDS NEVER END! 🤪) EDIT: Looks like the legs extend for armor mode, except they'll extend above the ankles for Houquet instead of extending below the knees (like with the boys). . . . And no mud guard or the WWII invasion stripes on the hips like they did on that announcement drawing many years ago.

    Oh, you sexy bitch! Finally gonna complete the set! Yeah, I agree with everyone here: kinda wish the eyes were more “doe-like.” But the color of the armor and the bike is spot-on.
