    Well, they were planting the seeds to pick up the story from the anime movie. I’d love to see them break the bank to animate that dog fight with the Swordfish II. And the Vincent vs. Spike fight is still one of my personal faves. AND Gotta Knock a Little Harder is one hell of a song too!

But wouldn’t be surprised if budget was a deciding factor. I’ve seen shows with worse first seasons still get second seasons on Netflix. <shrugs>

    Anime Vicious rarely, if ever, was made to look the fool. Always seemed to be a step ahead of everyone and commanded this odd full-on loyalty from his underlings. You don’t get that with the live action version (except for one scene). I get why they did it for storyline purposes, but they nerfed him too much.

    Just watched The Summit of the Gods on Netflix. Some may complain it's a slow film. But it's immersive and stunning animation and gives you a sense of how crazy mountain climbing must be.

    Yeah, I’ve had a similar issue using Firefox (even prior to the latest updates). The workaround seems to be to clear all Macross World cookies and then log back into the boards. That seems to get the replies posted. It’s just annoying when you type out a long reply. . . and then realize you have to copy the reply text and go through the whole process of clearing your MW cookies. And then paste your response back in.

    If you’re trying to squeeze them in a Detolf shelf, it’s definitely a tight fit and the shelf size does limit your posing options (along with their big honkin’ swords). But it is doable.

    So, finished up the series this past weekend. The last half of the season was actually okay and a little better than the first half. However, there were bits in the last episode that felt off. Other bits:

    Re-formed the Voltrons: The shoulder butterfly joints on Vehicle Voltie are definitely better than the one in the Lions. Easier to do two-handed sword poses.

    So, I read some spoilers that are making me question continuing on with the series. They keep making Vicious look like a putz. And not sure how a key change they made will make the story better.

    Only two eps in, and I have mixed feelings already. Some of the banter is fun, especially between the three mains. But not feeling Vicious. At. All. Doesn’t seem sinister enough. Too bugged eyed. And looks like a Malfoy or Targaryen reject. Also, the more they show of Julia, the less appealing she becomes. They should have adopted the “less is more” stance with Vicious and Julia. Also, I can see the limitations of the filming/budget. The outside scenes feel off and don’t feel immersive enough, like you can tell where the background is CGI’ed or added in. There aren’t any smooth, seamless transitions between live action and CG, like when one character’s ship gets shot up, cut to Spike’s reaction, and then the next scene shows that shot up character drifting in space. Or when John Cho is in a fight scene, there’s a lot of cuts and edits. I guess we got spoiled with the minimally cut John Wick, The Raid, and Netflix Marvel fight scenes. For those who have watched the anime, I peeked at the episode list, and it looks like this “season” ends around Ballad of Fallen Angels. I’ll probably check out the rest and give a full impression once I finish the season.

    Haven’t seen any of the OVA’s or movies. But definitely avoid the sequel series, Ao. Started promising enough, but wound up being a big reset button.

    After seeing the embedded videos and reading a little of the synopsis. . . . . . I think I’m gonna stick with the original series and then “head canon” it that Renton and Eureka went back to their adopted kids at the end. Probably easier this way and won’t give my brain a raging headache.
