^^There was an unproduced Clone Wars ep, where a young Boba and Cad were supposed to have a duel. Boba gets head-shotted and that was supposed to explain why his helmet got the dent. Not sure if there were other Clone War eps where they interacted prior to that. But I think the implication was that Boba learned some of the bounty hunting trade from Cad back in the day. Again, it would have been nice for them to elaborate a little on their back history. Fennec's and Cad's too. But who has time for the story when they have to get to the next action set piece?

Well, it’s not like Boba doesn’t know any other bounty hunters or anyone that has beef with Cad that he could have called as backup or paid to be back-up. . . Oh wait! 🤦🏻♂️

Yeah, it was a pretty meh ending. It was as if someone said, “Let’s do all these cool scenes!” But none of it had any purpose, logic, or stakes behind them. I also feel sorry for the folks who don’t know the backstory on the blue dude. It’s clear there’s history between him and Boba, but it’s not fully elaborated during this show. And for a crime boss, Boba has been very incompetent and very inconsistent. They keep trying to make him a hero, instead of the crime boss he’s supposed to be. I mean, his first act was to straight up MDK Bib Fortuna, and yet we RARELY see that version of Boba show up over the course of the series. Dumb nit-picks and comments:

Why do you think I’m gonna get some red spray paint? I ain’t waiting or taking that risk. But adding those extras would be awesome and utter icing on the cake.

The good thing is that there’s nothing really too disturbing in the design choices so far with this prototype. They’ve shrunk the bomber mode gaps, look like they’ve solved the cockpit and sternum problem (that doesn’t look out of scale with the Legioss cockpit), and appear to have integrated the connecting boom into the Tread itself. If they can make the connection solid enough for swooshing around, we may have a game-changing successor. But let’s just hold off on giving the crown just yet. . . . I am curious too if they’ll add missiles for the wings and a big honkin’ Gatling gun.

Probably equal in size to the Toynami or a shade smaller? It might be the Sentinel Tread’s wings throwing things off, but that Tread soldier mode prototype looks pretty large. EDIT: I’m guessing the chest won’t be as wide as the Toynami, since their Tread won’t have to accommodate the over extended legs and thrusters of the Toynami Alpha. If you look at the Toynami Beta’s hip areas, you’ll see they’re gappy as heck in bomber mode.

Last time I pulled a stupid avatar stunt like this, it was about 2 and a half years until I was able to switch it back.
. . . Hopefully, this will be a shorter wait. 😬

What's the "tip to back" measurement you're getting for your Sentinel Legioss/Toynami Beta combo, @sqidd? For the all Toynami fighter combo, I'm getting 17 inches total. Just curious.

Just took measurements of the Toynami Beta’s wingspan: it’s a shade below 18 inches. Assuming they’re close in size, it’ll be a tight fit and require some angling and tilting. But it “might” be doable.

RT’s from a copied and poorly translated language! 😜 In all seriousness, Mospeada is one of the few animes where some of the characters are from South America. Back to the Tread, I hope I’m able to squeeze that combined fighter into a Detolf. Gonna be tricky with the figures I already have in that shelf:

Is it just me, or does it look like the bomber prototype is missing the back missile rack? From what I remember with the Toynami, the back landing gear aren’t in the front “crotch” piece; they’re in the back booster that becomes the soldier mode butt. Traditionally, the front landing gear is on the connecting boom. But @Perxion’s head and chest transformation is what I was suspecting too. It’s just that notch in the neck collar is throwing me off. I’ll probably be like Angier in The Prestige and obsess over this (and discover it’s a real simple and obvious solution). They’ve definitely shrunk the gaps in bomber mode, compared to the Toynami. Again, the compact design of the Legioss is paying off now.

I've been staring at that pic, wracking my brain on how that head and sternum transform. I'm thinking the cockpit flips up and into the back, and maybe the head and neck collar twist 180 degrees. But I can't figure where the chest/sternum cover is. Plus, you gotta factor how the back missile rack factors into all this. Would really love to see a clearer shot of the back to figure things out. I do hope there's enough room to add the shoulder missiles too. And I wonder if there's enough room in that cockpit to shove a pilot in there. So, late Fall 2022 release date? Or going into 2023? For those that were here back in the day, should I change my avatar until this gets released? For old times sake? 😅

Hoo boy! Looks like I’m gonna have to get some red spray paint! It looks like the crotch rotates forward. But can’t figure out what’s going on with the chest and cockpit. The head area looks different between bomber and soldier mode. Maybe the whole assembly flips forward? Wanna see more pics of this puppy from various angles. EDIT: And in combined mode.

A couple of acid dips into a Sarlacc pit are murder on the skin. Plus, that desert heat and dryness? And you know the Tuskens probably didn’t even waste their pee to wash that Sarlacc stank off Boba.

I don’t think the poll has enough options. I’m perfectly fine with the general rule of thumb we’ve got going, where we spoiler tag certain comments until a “reasonable” period of time has passed. Sometimes discussions are ongoing in a thread, so to suddenly have to avoid a thread just because a new ep premiered is kinda annoying. Plus, real life events/circumstances might delay us from watching the new ep, so spoiler tagging stuff just seems like a nice common courtesy. Besides I like the creativity it forces me use. It’s easy to say you like or hate an episode or movie, but you don’t want to be that dick that spoils any big surprises.

I suspect there’s more to that flashback than what we saw. Wouldn’t be surprised if Grogu already went a little dark side. There is precedent. However, I like what another person proposed instead: what if Luke is testing Grogu? To see if he has the proper balance regarding attachments? Like Grogu does miss Mando, but he knows that it’s important to continue his training. So, in the end Luke imparts a bit of wisdom AND let’s him keep the chainmail and the saber.
