My old desk, which has been the kiddo’s desk for awhile now, has had a couple shelves of birds and figures up on display for years. Wifey’s in on one of her weird cleaning/purging fits. So, figured it wasn’t worth the headaches, and cleared some of the stuff off the desk and found a new home for the customs. As annoying as it is, the good thing is the kiddo gets to put his own stuff up on display in the desk now, and my stuff is in one area now. EDIT: Decided to re-do the M&M display. Now, the love-and-hate theme is back on display for Max and Milia:

It ain't my old "Love and Hate" display, but I found a way to squeeze them all together without the Q-Rau completely blocking out the 1J's: Split the aces and put 'em in opposing banks:

So, when the wifey takes away one of your display spaces, you find a way to consolidate and re-do your main display area: Had to consolidate the M&M mechas into one cube: And figure out a way to squeeze my two customs into the vacated space: Really had to tilt the angle on the -21 to get them to both fit in the damn space. And the grey panel-lining on the two birds is courtesy of YEARS OF DUST 😅:

Much like TPM and AOTC, there’s some good ideas there. But it’s muddied by the execution, what they chose to focus on, and how they plotted it out. It seems like there’s three (or four) things they need to do to wrap up this story, based on what’s been shown so far: 1) Qui-Gon appearance to either grow Obi or to show that he’s now ready to be trained (for his ANH ascension). 2) Obi-Vader face off of some sort (to tie back to the whole learner-master speech Vader pops off in ANH). 3) Saving Luke from Reva. 4) Reuniting Leia with Bail. Unless it’s a longer episode, that’s a lot to try to cover in the finale and allow each element time to “breath.”

They need someone in the writer’s room to say, “Nah, that’s stupid. Let’s rework that idea.” or “Maybe we should NOT have three ‘We need to rescue Leia incidents’ back-to-back-to-back.”

If you look at the original prototype, they actually improved the look of Houquet’s legs, with the final product having a more feminine taper and sculpt.

So 5/6 of the way in, and the most frustrating issue with this is that there’s too much plotting and not enough story. The overall story/premise is alright, but the plot keeps getting in the way. It’s like someone’s writing for a video game (setting up obvious roadblocks/set-backs), rather than for a TV show. Yeah, the ep cleared up a few issues, but it feels like this show is just bouncing Obi from Point A to Point B to Point C without any growth for the character.
