Marvel Studios TV Shows and Animation on Disney+
Mog replied to sh9000's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Born Again is actually the title of one of the best DD comic book story arcs of all time. But they already kinda did it already. It’s called Netflix Daredevil Season 3. EDIT: I know the red suit is more super hero-ish. But when he rocks the black bandana and the Muy Thai rope hand wraps, you know an ass-whooping is a comin’. EDIT 2: If Wilson Bethel is in the cast list for this, the title has yet another meaning.- 1481 replies

Star Trek TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY, ENT - pre-Paramount+ TV Series
Mog replied to sh9000's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
They really should have expanded the Year of Hell concept and just put Voyager through a physical beating for an extended period. . . . Like how BSG did it years later.- 250 replies

Yeah. . . but I’m happy with the shade of red I got her in now. Blends well with the boys.

Taking a break from the Toynami news, it’s still a minor miracle we got nice renditions of the full Ride Armor crew in a larger scale. Especially, considering the we got this crazy inflation/economic nuttiness going on now. (Looks back at the Beagle Houquet prototype and the recession that hit soon after, and wonders what if). And despite Sentinel’s insistence of sticking Houquet with that hot pink color. #HouquetRouge!

Star Trek TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY, ENT - pre-Paramount+ TV Series
Mog replied to sh9000's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Well, four TV shows, 24 seasons of stories from the previous four series, it’s hard to come up with something “fresh” with that much backstory. Add in that Rick Berman was still helming the franchise, and did NOT have the ridiculously good cadre of writers to lean on anymore (Moore, Behr, and Wolfe). Plus, throw in that Enterprise was being used to prop up the old United Paramount Network. And yeah, Enterprise had some issues facing it. Not disagreeing with any of the points you bring up. But burnout did play a part in me skipping Enterprise after a season or two. It became an obligation to watch, rather than a joy. And even after Manny Coto came in and a buddy pointed out how better the show became, I just wasn’t as motivated to tune in each week. -
^^It probably will “go” (break off) when going between bike mode and armor mode!

Star Trek TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY, ENT - pre-Paramount+ TV Series
Mog replied to sh9000's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
By the time Enterprise rolled out, there was definite fatigue and diminishing returns. Seriously, the only major change was that instead of “Shields down to 30 percent,” it was now “HULL PLATING down to 30 percent.” I got spoiled with DS9, where even recurring characters get well developed. Voyager had a great starting premise but was too episodic. Some main cast characters are just sorta there, but don’t really develop much over the seven seasons. And Enterprise just didn’t do enough to develop some of its lower ranking, main cast characters. -
No lengthening of the legs in armor mode? And the head greeblies look like someone trying to evoke a VF-1J feel. I have a bad feeling the kewl add-ons may muck things up on the design end, along with trying to upscale Sentinel’s design.

Just finished Season 1 (I know). Dumb question: I wonder if the future before Number Five ditched The Handler (after being moved up to management) would have averted the apocalypse? Everyone has a fairly happy ending. And Vanya still discovers the journal, but there would be (theoretically) no gorilla boy to trap her.

It’s kinda amusing that the knock-offs (back row middle) show no yellowing whatsoever, while the official Hasbro releases yellowed like no one’s business:

Were these VF-1J colors ever done as a custom by anyone?
Mog replied to Radioguy's topic in The Workshop!
So, was dorking around the MW galleries and came across this custom by @miriya: Not exactly the blood red and color scheme of that Axoid. But very similar.- 10 replies

Funny you should mention customs, because I think that’s where I get the most “joy” from nowadays. Whether it’s a slight tweak or a complete repaint and overhaul, I find myself gravitating back to those custom pieces I’ve done over the years. Remembering the challenges, all the thought and choices that went into the design, and the exhilaration of seeing all the work finally coming together in the finished product.

What is you favorite Macross World Emoji?

When something said is so confusing, unexpected, illogical, and/or asinine, this is my go to reaction: But I also like this one for something so ridiculously awesome that you can only react this way: -

Nah, the toy hunts have become utter garbage the past decade. Even when I was toy hunting in earnest, I’d be hitting up multiple spots to get one or two action figures. Now, you’d be lucky to find anything other than peg warmers at most brick-and-mortar stores. Add in the price of gas and the more limited time I have, and it’s just no longer worth it. Regarding Macross stuff, Bandai’s pre-order hell takes a lot of the joy out of it. I do miss the old days when there were a few more domestic dealers you could get your Macross fix from. But it is balanced by it becoming much easier to purchase from online stores out of Japan nowadays. At this point, there’s only a few “holy grails” left to fill out my collection. And even then, there’s space and display limits to consider. 🤷🏽♂️

Regarding the spoiler, yeah, those are two possibilities. I just hope they don’t unnecessarily stretch out the whole Jonathan hiding his college situation from Nancy or Will’s hidden feelings for the entirety of Season 5.

Upgrading a classic: yet another custom Bandai/Matchbox 1/3000 SDF-1
Mog replied to tekering's topic in The Workshop!
So, what’s the latest? About the only idea I could come up with for your dilemma @tekering would be to install sliders or a groove inside the lower/front white parts (apologies for the crappy rough sketches): . . . But I don’t think the design of the toy allows for that mod: Please keep us posted; I’m sure you’ll come up with a solution. -
