The idea was already DOA the moment it didn’t relate to Wedge and the rest of the OG Rogue Squadron members.

If this is the series finale, then it ended well. Kinda wish the final fight stretched a little longer, especially given the past history. But a nice ending nonetheless.

I know the original poster is focusing on the DYRL SDF-1. But if you do go after the Takatoku/Matchbox 1/3000 TV version, be very wary about the shoulder joints. At this point, many of those shoulders are extremely fragile and prone to breakage. There’s even the possibility of those shoulders breaking during shipping unfortunately. So, just be very aware of that.

DYRL version: you have a few options (though slightly more expensive). TV version: there’s only one “modern” option (Cosmo Fleet). Of course, there are models too (which I didn’t factor above). Even though it’s a relatively simple transformation, there are a few quirks going between the two SDF-1 modes (especially for the TV version).

^^The VF-17 is up there too on the anime magic need.

<sigh>: * Hip guards are all wrong and too short. * Arms are a little too thin. * A third of the underbelly goes to the battroid backpack. This design choice seems to do no favors for Gerwalk mode (gonna be a bunch of kibble hanging off the back or covering up where the ventral boosters should go). * This “third of the underbelly” design choice ALSO adds unnecessary complications when they add the FAST pack armors. Another member posted a pic with all the issues he had with Bandai’s rendition, back on page 10. But these have been and continue to be my biggest gripes with Bandai’s prototype. I don’t mind different choices or favoring battroid over fighter. But Bandai’s choices—especially with the hip guards/underbelly—just made no damn sense.

Star Trek TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY, ENT - pre-Paramount+ TV Series

Eddington would probably spout off that they died a far nobler death, instead of rotting in some prison. While Sisko would eat some bread in front of Mikey. . . before firing off another torpedo at a Marquis planet. -
Maybe they should change the green to HOT PINK?

All those photos do is keep reminding me what they did wrong in designing the battroid mode.

^^Unless they’re making individual removable missiles for the shoulder armors, the toy shouldn’t be too top heavy in armor mode. Hell, Houquet holds up just fine in armor mode, even with her skinny legs and heels. Bike mode for the missile guy looks too unwieldy and unbalanced though, with too much stuff in the front and no kibble to balance out the back.

Go full Highlander, lop off their heads, and store ‘em in the Grogu port or under the astromech droid.- 1438 replies

I suspect Sentinel will want to push these Ride Armors out (since they can use a lot of the existing molds). BUT I really hope they release the Tread sooner rather than later.

Marvel Studios TV Shows and Animation on Disney+

It’s been a fun series, so far. Absolutely does NOT take itself too seriously (which could be a good thing or a bad thing). But it does lean heavy into the cameos and guest bits.- 1403 replies

Didn't understand the whole point of the numerous oar montages at the beginning, but it tied up appropriately at the end. I understood the point of repeating the fighting scenes an episode or two ago, but I suspect someone got lazy for this one (or needed to pad the ep a little bit).

Yah, the last two eps felt really short and probably could have been combined into one ep. Though, the fourth wall breaking has been amusing.- 1403 replies

Disney+ TV Series, movies, animation,specials

The cool thing with using something like the Volume though is that you don’t have to build the whole set, but it’s large enough to immerse the actors and make ‘em feel like they’re in a different place. Like you said, it’s now another tool to utilize to better tell and serve the story. -

For the first Star Wars, it’s bonkers that they built up all that stuff and all they had to show for it was two completed effects scenes by the time Lucas came back from filming. Pretty trippy too to see the change from practical models, miniatures, stop-motion, etc. to CG taking over almost everything to a sort of hybrid blending of the two methods. -
They really need to stop this whole pink ride armor thing.

I think we've seen bits and pics here and there. But never a full set @nightmareB4macross. Awesome work pulling off that custom. I do miss the good ol' days when people were customizing Valks like crazy. For all the advances that have happened in the past decade, we're still dealing with annoying limitations with white-backed decals and stickers. I also suspect life and family responsibilities have cut into our customizing free time.

Anyone catch the ILM docuseries? Probably the few rare times we'll see the original special effects from the OT. Pretty cool to see how things evolved and how they pulled off all that various work (from the original Star Wars through the Raiders of the Lost Ark to the Abyss and T2 and all the way to all the digital aspects now). Something cool to watch in the background. -
Another solid ep. A reviewer waxed poetic about the story and the layering done here. . . and then ended the review with the most Primal of Primal observations:
