  1. So, just tore through Season 2. It kinda reminds me of Season 2 of the first series, in that it drags a bit in the beginning then ramps up the closer we get to the end. But yeah, they know how to do the combo fights at this point. And they’re so deliciously good! So considering that the original Castlevania series just took it to another level with Seasons 3 and 4, I hope we still get a Nocturne Season 3.
  2. Technically, the most recent showing of DD was in Echo, where she and DD had a quick little fight, totally in tune with what we saw from the Netflix series. Also, we got hints of Fisk thinking about running for mayor in Echo. I just hope we only see the red suit or better yet the black bandana get-up. Good ish happens when he’s rocking the black bandana.
  3. Having seen the DD trailer, the tone seems good. But for the love of all that is good and holy, please, please, PLEASE don’t put a bunch of quick-cuts in the fight scenes. What made Netflix DD so good was being able to follow the fights. Also, I understand DD having the armor now. But his fights are so much better when he’s dishing out the pain BUT also taking damage himself.
  4. As I sorta mentioned before with Jod: greed, hubris, and not thinking things completely through. Kinda fits how he acted throughout this series.
  5. Are there annoying little plot contrivances? Oh yes! BUT it was a fun ride that ended nicely. A few other comments:
  6. Looks like Grampa Belmont (Juste, I believe) has a throw-down with Rictor’s Speaker Auntie
  7. Phantom II ready to launch:
  8. I’m personally enjoying the little Force-wielding scoundrel. Been a nice change of pace to see someone who’s not the standard Jedi or Sith archetype. I’m also thankful that they allowed the kids to have consistent flaws and allowed them to make mistakes along the way. They’re screwing up in ways you’d expect kids their age to mess up, consistent with the character traits they each have.
  9. He played the Mountain’s brother, the Hound. Had a number of lines from the series. But it’ll be interesting to see if he can pull off Baylan’s calm, controlled demeanor and speech delivery.
  10. Finally finished up Interior Chinatown last night. Definitely a silly and absurd reality-twisting show. The show meanders a crap-ton, but I’m not sure how I feel about the ending. All this to say, there’s parts I really liked, but I’m not sure if they stuck the landing at the end.
  11. The joys of Ikea discontinuing that beech effect brown color.
  12. Still haven’t decided on poses for the ships and figures on the top, but this is the display for the next 7 months:
  13. I got the laundry list of mods (and pics) over in the What’s Lying on Your Workbench thread: But here’s a pic of the fully customized ship for this thread: Had a ton of fun modding it up. The one thing I didn’t mention was just adding adhesive putty to keep a few items/chairs from moving around inside the Ghost.
  14. It’s always been an issue with the vehicles. Hell, you could argue that the GI Joe 3.75” and especially the Classified lines’ planes are way underscaled too. Anyone who’s been a TVC collector always knew there would be compromises with the Ghost. But even at this “underscaled” size, the TVC Ghost is a hefty fricken beast. Between its massive shelf presence and the ease with which I was able to customize it, I’m glad I backed this. Considering how little was made in the TVC scale for Rebels, it’s a minor miracle that Hasbro made this AND made figures of the main characters’ later seasons appearances.
  15. Anyone else getting to that age where this sounds like the perfect way to spend New Year’s?
  16. Mom! Why can’t we add MY killcounts?!!
  17. So, I finally got the Haslab Star Wars Ghost (for their 3.75” figure line). Even though it’s a premium item, I wound up using almost every custom technique (and then some) in my personal toolbox to tweak the ship and included figures. * Opened up the ship and wired in some lights, including lights for the cockpit and for the engines. Placed switches on the outside of the ship for easier access and to allow for removing/replacing the batteries down the line: * Dirtied up and painted in some details on the bottom center fuselage, as it was pretty much blank and unpainted: * Added scorching to each of the gun turret barrels: * Tweaked these figures ever so slightly to make them more in-line with their appearances in Rebels: * Manually added killmarks to the canopy (including one significant one from the series finale): * Created stickers of the Ghost logo and added them to the ship: * I had a spot in mind to place it, but holy crap! The completed ship is friggin’ huge!!: Still, so glad to finally have one of personal holy grails in-hand!
  18. Smile for the mural:
  19. Yeah. . . it’s friggin’ huge: And yes, I’ve already started modding and wiring it up:
  20. I would expect after 15+ years for there to be massive improvements to the toy design of the Tread/Beta Fighter. But the Toynami one, despite all its flaws, was pretty damn good for its time. And the combined fighter mode actually looked like one connected craft (unlike CM’s split-level abomination). Don’t get me wrong: I’m excited for Sentinel’s rendition (other than the fixed pose pilot and the lack of missiles on the standard release). But show some respect for the old Toynami king.
  21. See, it’s a friggin’ tank!! 😅 And either Jim’s truck is hella fast, or the Legiosses and Tread don’t need to fly fast to stay airborne.
  22. The idea for a Gatling gun came from this scratch-build that showed up long before CM’s or Toynami released their renditions: http://policap-inside.cocolog-nifty.com/blog/2007/06/post.html . . . And it never hurts to have a gun mounted to a slow-moving plane with a crapload of ordinance 😉:
