Yeah. . . it worked for the intro:

In other words, greed makes companies be a-holes.

And if Disney does try to move forward without Gilroy, it’ll probably blow up in their face. . . which is something they don’t need with Star Wars slipping and stumbling the way it’s been.

Need to clarify that this is due to the current writers’ strike. He stated that he would cease all writing-related duties. Got hit with criticism and then decided to cease all non-writing duties as well.

Instead of HBT, the bike uses EBT: Electrical Bvroom-vroom Technology! So, no exhaust! 🤪

Did a quick and dirty check on Amazon Japan and didn’t see it listed.

I think that whole back assembly pops off and becomes a drone. That transparent piece probably is there to protect the camera? 🤷🏽♂️

Now, I think I know why they originally went with black: that drone on the back of the seat would be better for spying and “intruding” if it was black. But red makes it a big honking target that’s quick to spot.

Not sure how accurate this is: https://www.trekbbs.com/threads/synopsis-of-jmss-synopsis-of-the-original-arc-for-b5-spoilers.53739/ But it's interesting to see what the "original" plan was versus what we actually got. Definitely prefer the order (explicit guidance) versus chaos (strengthened through conflict) idea, the Z'Ha'Dum plot threads and prophecies, and the execution of Londo's story that we got in the actual show versus what's surmised in that link.

Just watched it today. Clocking in at 2.5 hours, it is a pretty long film. If you've liked the past two Guardians movies and the Christmas special, you should know what you'll be getting at this point. It does mix the silly stupid humor with the heart-pulling moments. But they are a "found family," so they're gonna have their bickering bits but still deeply love one another at their core. Dumb observations:

I'd be curious to see what the original story was supposed to be with Commander Sinclaire as the main character. Don't get me wrong: it's amazing that he was able to adjust the story on the fly for certain actors leaving or not panning out. But it'd be interesting to see what JMS' original ideas were supposed to be for Babylon 4, Sinclaire and Delenn, Susan Ivanova in Season 5, etc.

So many of the designs from Frontier felt like a natural progression of old Macross designs and symbols: The GBP-1S armor now being integrated to be used in all three Valk modes; The missing eye in the VF-25S emblem reminding me of an eyepatch and homaging the pirate roots of the Jolly Rogers. And yeah, even the YF-21 and the Sv-262 (that don't have that standard "jet engines become the legs" design) have pretty smooth underbellies.

Damn, does she nail the slow, simmering anger:

Figure this is the best way to get us to Page 100 :

I remember that was right around the time that afternoon cartoons started dying out, especially for those on syndication channels. Young, teenage Moggy wasn’t happy about that change.
-
The biggest problem with that original color scheme was that the bike and the human armor were two very different primary colors. And it’s not like Stick and Rey where the colors are just slightly different. We’re talking a major contrast on that original Intruder.

I am curious if they’ll add a helmetless head too. But we all know what I’m waiting for.

The Mandalorian - Star Wars webseries from Jon Favreau
Mog replied to SMS007's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Just to clarify: I have no issue with the idea that Mando didn’t grow much or reverted some in Season 3. The only new thing that Season 3 added was a new willingness to work with some droids (wanting to repair IG-11 and partnering with R5). But to say that Mando’s the same character as at the start of the series is hyperbole by that reviewer.- 1438 replies

Well, if they take the position that Robotech is superior to Macross, then we’ll know that the AI lacks actual, you know, “intelligence.”

The Mandalorian - Star Wars webseries from Jon Favreau
Mog replied to SMS007's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
They were crappy story “arcs.” What exactly was Poe supposed to learn in that film? To trust his leader blindly without asking logical questions? Finn sorta had an arc, but then Rose had to go and mess up his moment of sacrificing for the greater good. And really, where in that entire movie does she show any sort of emotion for him other than disdain? Rey had that whole “You’re nobody” arc, but then the next movie dropped that angle. Rescuing and protecting his friends has always been a core aspect of Luke, but guess they had to “subvert expectations” and not have him give a damn that his good friend died and his sister is in trouble. Kylo had an arc? For all his talk about killing the past, he sure had a hard time trying to pull the trigger on Mommy. Zero growth in Mando? Mando’s gone from being a loner who only cares about his covert to a loving dad, a guy that backs up his friends and allies, and a guy who’s willing to serve another Mandalorian who often takes off her helmet. Yeah, he’ll still kick a battle droid, but he’s slowly learning to trust a few droids, something he never would have done at the start of the series. Grogu’s actually getting better with using the Force and doesn’t need to automatically go into sleepy, nap-time right after exerting himself. He’s gone from choking a chick in Season 1 to actually trying to stop a fight in Season 3. Bo’s actually grown from the character we first saw in Clone Wars. And after experiencing all that in-fighting, she’s consistently refrained from killing another fellow Mandalorian and was willing to hang with the religious cult.- 1438 replies
